ADVANTAGE PAINTING

This was the worst contractor experience I've had in a while. Chris represented himself as working with a reputable contractor who had done a lot of quality work in the area, so we hired him to paint the window trim on my mom's condo and put down 1/2 of the fee as a deposit. He showed up on time the first day, did half of the job, and talked my mom into paying him the entire amount with a sob story about how he was going to lose his truck if he didn't make a payment on it. Once he had all the money, we couldn't get him to come back and finish the job for anything. He claimed that the rain kept him from coming out, but he broke numerous appointments at the last minute on beautiful sunny days to go to his kids' football game, or some other lame excuse. We finally got him to finish the job by filing a lawsuit in small claims court. Once he got the subpoena, he was more than happy to come out and finish the job. He even offered to refund the $75 filing fee if we put a good word in for him on Angie's List and with the homeowner's association. Of course, he didn't follow through on that promise either, so we're out the $75 filing fee as well. And when we contacted the reputable contractor to complain, he said that he didn't work with this guy anymore because he had gotten so many complaints like ours.

HE DIDNT SHOW UP WHEN HE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN THERE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I THEN GOT AHOLD OF HIM AND ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK, AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD SEND ME A CHECK, BUT HE NEVER DID. I CALLED HIM SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT TO ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK, AND IT WAS NEVER GIVEN. EVEN AFTER I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD BE TAKING FURTHER ACTION, HE WOULDNT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK, AND HE TOLD ME TO STOP CALLING HIM.
