It’s bothersome when people just knock on your door convincing us we need their service when we really didn’t need or want them at all. They just swindled their way in. After they left we were very worried. We called them back and they sent someone out and they went through the crawl space putting our phones back together. I told them that the alarms were off. They said they fixed it. After they left however, it still wasn’t fixed. I called again and they sent someone again who also said he fixed it.. but it still didn’t work. We think that’s when they removed the siren outside. We were still so bothered that we called and said to bring our things back and take away what they installed. They came back and got the faceplate which was really all they installed but they didn’t return anything they took, not the siren, not the keys, nothing. They just left us with cut wires and holes in the walls. We hired a new service to come and investigate and install a new system appropriately for us. He advised that it appeared they may have had alternative motives leaving us without security like they did. I just want to warn people about them.
Description of Work: We had a security system that worked just fine; however, someone from Vector knocked on our door, convinced my elderly uncle that we needed to buy their system instead and after obtaining his signature immediately began cutting wires and removing the existing system. They took out the outside siren, cut phone wires (we were without a phone for 2 days), left a big hole in the wall, took the old alarm box and did not return it, took the keys to the alarm box, cut wires to the back BR window alarms and patio and garage-to-house alarm as well. All they did in return was install a faceplate and tell me how to change the “1234” code to my own code, then he went back and added the “1234” code again. It all felt very suspicious and we were frightened about not having proper security. We had none actually for a week and a half after they came to our door. All they did was take away the security we had, make it look like they installed something, wandered all over our house doing this and that and removed the old equipment. Taking away our outside siren was very disconcerting. My uncle is 82 yrs old and I’m here taking care of him.
