Years ago we had Mr. Swigart restore a corner chair for us. He did an excellent job. I cannot tell where the repair was done. So, when we decided to have our antique rosewood loveseat and side chair repaired and restored we went to him. Mr. Swigart gave us a good estimate and we had the side chair done. It took a year to get that side chair reupholstered, not Mr. Swigart's problem or fault. Once it was done, we called to schedule having the loveseat done. It was so nice that he remembered us and the chair. He told us when we could bring the loveseat in and had it done when he said it would be done. I would recommend Mr. Swigart for any repair/restoration of furniture.

He's done about three pieces and done a really good job. He's courteous, a good craftsman, and reasonably priced.

The service overall was excellent. I gave them a call after reading some reviews on Angie's List. I had decided that for my friend's birthday I was going to have this old gun rack that was passed down to her from her great-grandfather refinished. I gave Swigart Refinishing a call and had to leave a message. They got back to me within a few hours.
I described the gun rack to them and what I wanted done and was given a quote over the phone of about $100.00. They took the old green felt off the rack and replaced it with brown felt. They took the old funky green moldy gun rack and made it look new. The going rate is about $35 dollars an hour for labor. I dropped it off on Christmas Eve and got it back by January 17th. I feel it was worth the money and wait considering how much my friend loved the look of her heirloom gun rack.
A few things to note. They are very low tech. They do not have a website, the building is a very old, and he prefers exact cash. They do take credit cards but I could only imagine an old carbon copy card swiper being pulled out to make the transaction.

He refinished the dinning room table plus two leaves. He also did a bedroom nightstand and a small end table. My experience with him was excellent. I heard about him by word of mouth; a friend.

I called and made an appointment to drop off the work. It was ready at the promised time. When I went to pick up the job, Mr. Swigart gave me a tour of his facility. Very impressive.
