Countertop and Backsplash Service
My experience with the owner and staff in the showroom was
great - they were very helpful and seemed knowledgeable. I ordered a Corianne
countertop and made a 50% downpayment. Everything went downhill after that! They
became non-responsive, unprofessional and did a poor job. The measurer was in the house 5-10 min and made no template
even though both my contractor and I stressed to him the measurements for the
appliance spaces had to be exact. When the countertop was installed, the range
wouldn't fit, the countertop overhang wasn't even around the new cabinets, the
countertop was 3" longer than it should have been, and there was an uneven
gap where the countertop met the pantry. When I pointed out the gap to the
installer, he said that usually happens because they have to cut the material
square and my contractor didn't install the cabinets square (they were square -
I checked). I called Corianne and they said the installers should have made a
template and cut the Corianne according to the template - their material
doesn't have to be cut squarely. To make the top fit, the wall was scored and
the top was forcefully jammed into the wall, damaging a section that needed
repaired. The back panels of the range were scratched attempting to make it fit
into the too small space. Holes were drilled in the top where they suggested
they should be based on the Moen faucet I showed them (I didn't know where they
should go-I relied on Superior's expertise), and they finished installation by securing the
top with a couple of screws and placing adhesive on one end. After they left I
cleaned the top and sink (they didn't attempt to do it) and discovered a deep
ding in the sink and immediately called the office and spoke to the owner about
the issues and was told an installer would be there first thing the next
morning. They didn't call or show
up, so I went to the office with photos
of the sink ding and range scratches, wall damage, etc. The whole crew came to
my house to inspect the problems and suggested either I (a 65 yr old woman) or
my contractor (who was never there except during the measuring) may have caused
the sink damage. The company owner said the Corianne couldn't have made the
scratches on the range and suggested either I or my contractor may have done it
and suggested trying to rub them off. In
order to replace the damaged sink, they had to remove the countertop, order a
new sink, then reinstall everything.
After they removed the top, I noticed more damage - a thumb-sized nick
out of the new maple cabinets where the countertop was installed using
adhesive. A week later the remeasured
and recut top was again installed with no trouble since it fit this time. After
they left I glanced over the countertop and noticed the overhang still wasn't even! Also, they hadn't cleaned up the
non-paintable adhesive enough and it was on the cabinets and drywall. The next day my contractor came to hook up
all the plumbing. The holes for the
single lever faucet and spray were drilled so close together that the lever
couldn't operate without holding the
sprayer out of the way and the faucet hole was about 3 1/2 " back from the
sink which made water splash over the countertop when washing dishes or hands.
My contractor had to remove the faucet and adjust it to be a left handed
operating faucet! As my contractor was
installing the backsplash tile he noticed the countertop creaked. He found only
a few screws holding it firm and adhesive only on one end. He added more screws, removed all the
overflow adhesive from the cabinet and drywall and repaired the nick in the
cabinet. He also adjusted a couple of
cabinet drawers to make the uneven countertop overhang less noticeably. He also
cut and stained a piece of trim wood to cover the uneven gap where the
countertop met the pantry. My
contractor charged me $400 for repairing Superior's mistakes and damage. Superior and I settled on deducting that
amount from my final bill but Superior was quite unhappy and quite rude to
me. He didn't think that was fair
because he already had to replace my $400 sink that he said my contractor or I
might have damaged! When my husband
asked if he always treated people the
same as he treated us - the replay was "only when they want something for
nothing like you do"! The owner
also said he wouldn't honor any workmanship warranty if I didn't pay him in
full. Superior didn't offer to repair any
of the damage and, if they had, I wouldn't have let any of them back into my house.
I'm sure the company response to my complaint will be like others.....I'm lying
and they did a great job! Potential
customers - I have proof in the form of
pictures and notes and like previous unhappy customers have
said............RUN from Superior showroom, don't walk!

Superior worked with us closely in selecting the right colors/materials/designs for both the kitchen and the master bath. They were extremely responsive in keeping us informed of material deliver and in scheduling the install time. The install crew was very professional, and courteous. The job was done expertly and fast. We have gotten nothing but compliments on how well it looks and we have referred friends and family to them.

Countertops ordered first week of Oct 2012, and promised to be installed in 10 days. Multiple problems and lies from a new owner (I think) resulted in delays resulting in countertops being installed more than 10 weeks (Dec 20, 2012) after ordering and a threatened legal action. Have NEVER dealt with a more unprofessional company who obviously could not care less about customer service. Would never do business with this company again.

Installers, left me with a tube of caulking telling me I would have to finish some small areas myself. I later discovered they pinched new copper plumbing line in kitchen and left sink lines leaking in the bathroom. They threw a wet wash cloth under the counter in the bath and then reloaded all my items so that; if there had been no leak, I would have never found the soaked cloth. Manager did cover the cost of the kitchen line repairs and my plumber costs on leak repair because I stopped payment on my check. I then paid him. Within another few months the counter top in the kitchen warped and sunk in the area over the dishwasher. I called and got the account and then the son who said Dad had been sick and now in Florida. Both were irritated and the son was extremely nasty on the phone. I gave up then and there. Too many problems. Since that time the kitchen backsplashes have separated from the walls, the 3'x8' bar counter top warped and sunk in the middle, we had to shim it thus losing a drawer, and the seamed area of kitchen laminate has separated. Wilson Art is a great laminate product but the underling construction and poor quality service of this company means I will not get the years of use out of this large investment that I should. This company is a one to avoid.

Countertop and Backsplash Service
I spoke with a company representative at their home show booth. He touted a "show special" of granite countertops installed at $45 per sq. ft. installed. plus free sink, plus free edge profile. I submitted a sketch to him and received a quote via e-mail for almost double what was discussed! I spoke with him on the phone twice only to be blown off and phone calls never returned. After I sent an e-mail expressing my dissatisfaction, he became very defensive and lied about the conversation at home show and stated quoted price was indeed firm.(approx.$70 per sq. ft. plus $550 installation!)

SUPERIOR COUNTERTOPS DID A GREAT JOB ON MY KITCHEN COUNTERTOP. I WOULD RECOMMEND FOR PEOPLE TO LOOK AROUND AT OTHER PRICES BEFORE DECIDING TO HIRE THIS COMPANY THOUGH.
