We are part of the Advantage Program and have had nothing but problems for the last 5 years with no way out. We have had our basement flood 3 different times. We have been left without heat in single digit weather. We have no AC in the middle of summer. Often they have to make multiple trips to our house because the problem isn't resolved. The answering service can't answer questions and don't know what to say. We have appointment for tomorrow, third day in a row because the tech left our house today with the thermostat reading Service Urgent. Don't use Stevenson's Experts.

Worst experience ever! If I could give negative stars,, I would. We were misquoted prices, service expectations were not clear to us or the company, so no one ever actually came and fixed anything after two visits,, one plumber just never showed up at all. Supposed to have a manager call back because they were “busy” when we called to discuss (this was after a customer service rep sent an email to the manager to please call us to discuss the issues and they didn’t call us); company cancelled our original appointment on us to pull our assigned plumber to a bigger job. We found another company to help so we cancelled the final appointment. They sent someone anyway but my partner left work to meet him because sewage was backed up into our house at this point. He had no record of our first consultation, the $195 service fee we paid (when we made the 1st appointment we were explained the $99 fee would be waived if we signed up for their customer rewards program; plumber then said that wasn’t accurate and explained it was $130 fee; turns out we were charged $195). This second guy didn’t even come inside yet and stated the problem was a tree. Then inspected the house and gave a list of issues and that he would be back tomorrow because he was only there for a consultation. We had another company out that night. They snaked the main line and we were back in working order in like 30 mins. Called to cancel that final appointment and there was no record of anyone coming back out to fix anything. The night of the missing plumber, we were given an emergency number to call. Guess what?! Number didn’t work and they don’t even have an emergency line! Stay away from these people!!!

RIP OFFS! So my grandfather's water heater went out and he didn't have the money for a brand new one. So he went with Stevonsons rent program where he rents his water heater and pays less than $25.00 a month for it. The deal was that if he rented it, they would come fix it for free if he had any issues with it and replace it with a new one every 10 years. However, his sister has cancer and is not doing well and he has to unexpectedly move to a different state to move in with her and take care of her. He called Stevenson to let him know and they told him he had to pay over $1750.00 to keep the water heater. No offense, but that price is ridiculous. I know contractors who can buy and install water heaters for less than $800.00 Not to mention, my grandfather has already made 8 payments toward is so that's $200.00. So technically, they are charging him $2000.00 for a 50 gallon water heater. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!

It took 2 men an hour and half each to work on unit. First man couldn’t find any problem and. Charged me $99 for the trip. Second man said needed a new part in this 5 yo unit and that cost almost $230 because the AC kept trying to start but had trouble starting and staying running. He put in the part and sometimes it starts and runs, sometimes it starts, runs 30 seconds and stops. Then starts the process all over again. Neither of these men took into account my original complaint of banging noises at the outside unit keeping me awake. Now I have recorded the new loud noises both outside and in since he put in that piece to “repair” the unit. I need some justice here!

My air conditioner does not work properly anymore. I was planning to do a repair or a replacement. My neighbour recommended this company. I called them, and they sent one service person and one sales person to my house within two hours, which is good. The price estimate for repairing is 1000$ to 1500$ (Ice on the AC), and I was told it might cost more to repair since they need to re-evaluate the AC two weeks after the repairing. I felt the repair cost is too high, and then they gave me a price estimate for replacement, which is pretty high to me. Also, The sales person only spent a few minutes to give me the price estimate, which did not include the model and any other detailed information of the AC. So I felt that I cannot trust the sales person, and I decided to call other companies to compare the price. So far, I have not made the final decision yet. I paid 99$ for the service call, which I was told they will refund me if I hire them to do the replacement.

I really had a bad experience with this company. I hired them to put in a new pressure tank. I paid $1495. Most of which is labor because the tank itself it about $400. I was fine with that. It got done. Pressure was worse after the install. But I did not complain. I asked them to come out and help with a sulfur smell (we have a well), they said they had to quote a new filtration system. We went ahead and replaced our water heater, but we needed to switch the anode rod and it was too tight from factory for us to do. They also said they were going to clean out the "system" and move around some pipes the quote was $795. "cleaning out the system seemed like time consuming work based on the description on the quote and what was described. I talked to the tech who replaced the rod in 30 min and cleaned 1 screen that is 1/2 inch round (this is "the system" and he didn't even have to remove anything to get to it). No pipes were moved either because he didn't have to disconnect the tank to remove the rod. So, I'm not sure why 30 minutes of time and an anode rod costs $795. The technician said he would make sure I got some money off whatever was quoted. The technician also said some things that gave me a bad impression of the management based on his own experiences as an employee. When they came out with the quote for the $6600 new filtration system they suggested, I said I'd consider it but I had an issue with how much I paid for the recent work. They were aware I had an issue with the cost (quote hadn't been adjusted for actual labor/time and service at all. was quoted 4 hours, moving pipes and completely cleaning the system). No pipes moved, 30 minute job and no system was cleaned. They offered just $100 off the $6600 system they wanted me to purchase. I brought up all my points and they agreed to refund $250. 8 weeks later (at least 3 emails in between), I have to follow up again on the refund. Then I get a call needing my Credit Card number to do the refund and issuing a check they say is 6 to 8 weeks. So I gave them a card number but then i get an email at the same time as the call saying it will be 4 to 6 weeks for processing. The service technician that came out did a good job but I honestly feel ripped off and it should not have been that hard to get money back after it was agreed upon. The manager I dealt with wasn't very personable and kept pushing me off, if I had paid by credit card I'd have been able to do a charge back, but I paid by check. I am really unhappy overall with my experience.
Response from Stevenson Service Experts

"This is the General Manager. I am looking into your complaint and will definitely ensure that you get your refund sooner. Someone will contact you this week. My apologies for your poor experience. After research we have processed the customer's CC for a refund. Part of the delay came from the customer only giving us the refund on 6/1/18. The customer should receive it some time in the next 1-2 weeks."

They did the installation for our heat pump a few years back and they service and maintain it.?My overall impression is that they are good. One of the things that perplexed me that was a bit of an issue is that the installation crew didn?t set the system up properly. It took two 6-month repairs to get the system dialed in correctly. I learned that the installation crew gets paid by the job, so they take every shrunk that they can to get done, as opposed to taking the time to set the system up properly. I think that was the only downer, that the system was not set up properly at installation. We have a service plan where they check the system spring and fall. The cost is on a service plan that we pay for and I don?t recall what that amount is off the top of my head. Once the system got dialed in the service has been very good. We?re going to retain them. It took less than an hour. Just one person came. The area was left clean.

We called this company on a Saturday morning and they sent someone out that day. We were not sure if the techs ladder could make it to our roof; it wasn't able to when he got there and we rescheduled for Sunday. Two technicians arrived Sunday and got up on the roof with the ladder and after a while they showed me some ice block formation in the coil of the furnace, they said it would take all day to thaw and that in their opinion I should replace the whole system. We called another company and they told us to check the coil again because it sounds like this company (Stevenson's) was just trying to make it hard for us to say no to their quote - sure enough 30 minutes after the techs left the ice was gone and the house was actually cooler. Our system is from 2003 and uses older R22 coolant and is being taken off the market in 2020, so replacing it isn't a bad idea - I agree we will need to replace it. When I asked the estimator representative to tell me honestly what I needed for the space he recommended a $8500-$9200 system and then wouldn't give me a breakdown of the price, here's how our text conversation went: Me: "Hey this is Jeremy what's the brand and model number of the proposed ac/furnace on this quote?" Reply: "Cbx 25 14 heat pump Lennox" Me: "Ok ? what's the cost of that ac/heat in plain dollar bills if i went out and bought it?" Reply: "U can't u have to be certified" Me: "I'm just trying to see what the value of the items / labor costs are so I can make a decision." Reply: "I'm do not have those numbers. I'm just a rep. They don't tell me what they get it for" Me: "Wel if you can't give me a breakdown of the prices then I'm going to go with extreme hvac" Reply: "Not clue" Me: "Lmao alright man thanks for your time, can you have the owner call me please?" Reply: "For? The GM will not give that info" Me: "Well I think that a breakdown for what I'm paying for isn't some abstract mystical request" They didn't reply back. This is such a stupid way to act when you're representing a company. I also found out that we didn't need the big 2.5 they were selling me, we only need the 1.5 - and I'll let you all know how that goes for me after it's installed for $4300 - which is great news for me - especially because it comes with a 12 year warranty!

It went great. The service tech, Nathan came out and ran some tests. He told me I didn't need a new air conditioner. He took the time and showed me why the first company I called out did a bad diagnosis that almost cost me over $5000. He did some fine tuning on the furnace that made a considerable difference in cooling. He walked throughout the house giving advice on how I can get better air circulation throughout the home. It was a very positive experience.
