Nice man and elderly father team, trustworthy which is important, and did a good job. Hours of arrival were not suitable for me however -- noon or early afternoon arrival most days. Job could have been completed sooner with working 8 hr days.

They did and OUTSTANDING QUALITY JOB!!! Despite a couple delays for materials the job went exceedingly well. They were on time and on budget the whole way!

I have used him at the other house and here at this house. He has done some stuff for my sister. He has done electrical, plumbing and stuff like that. In terms of price, he is pretty reasonable. I would use his services again in the future.

I needed LOTS of updating to our 35 year old home (that should have been done years ago) so I made a wish list and then started calling locally listed handymen for estimates. I already had purchased the new lights, fans, etc and had most of the materials that were needed for my jobs, but I was shocked at the prices they were wanting just for labor! That is, until I contacted Dave Phelps... He came out, we chatted, I showed him what I wanted/needed done and he gave me an itemized price list on the spot. No waiting. SUPER NICE GUY!! Plus, his estimate was HALF of what the others wanted! I told him to start immediately. He showed up the next day w/ his son (who works with him) and they got going. After 5 days (not consecutive), it was all done and done correctly! I am thrilled! The previous owners had installed a plastic wash tub in the half bath downstairs (for reasons beyond me) and I wanted it moved next to the washer. The washer drain always seemed to be hooked up strangely to me and he confirmed that it wasn't correct. They removed all the pipes and supports from the half bath and patched the walls perfectly so that I could paint. Then they installed the wash tub next to the washer and reworked the washer plumbing so that all would flow the way it should have in the first place. Next they tackled the sagging wood shelves in our pantry off the laundry room. The previous owners had made them too long (20'+) and not placed the 2x4's where support was most needed. Dave and Jason reinforced the sagging areas and they sag no more! Perfectly straight and sturdy as all get out! I now have the neatest, most organized pantry/storage area around. Several of the old sockets had 3 way plugs but were't actually grounded as they should have been (not to housing code). Dave checked them all and put grounds where I needed them (GFI's in all the bathrooms). I also needed a few more sockets added in the garage and basement areas and he took care of those, too. Additionally, I wanted a light in my front closet, a new ceiling fan and light kit in my dining room, and a light in the attic storage area. All new wiring was run through the attic and walls ...poof! I have lights! But the biggest thing was the rewiring of the lights that hang on either side of the garage door and my yard post light. Before, in order for me to turn them on/off, I had to walk out into the garage and flip the switch wihich was just inside the automatic garage door. This was extremely inconvenient (and very cold in the winter) but necessary whenever I had company at night. Dave figured out the best way to do it and that job took the longest. But NOW...I turn on my outside lights FROM MY FRONT DOOR! YIPPEE! Dave was very frugal in purchasing no more materials than what was absolutely necessary. Of the above price only $300 was for additional materials, mainly wire. Total hours involved: 27 hours @ 5-6 hours each day.
