He prepared the area of a drop-in range to make possible the installation of a free standing range. This included the relocation of a water line as well as installing the electric outlet for the new range. After several problems with receiving damaged ranges, we finally received a new one and he completed the installation. we now have a perfectly installed and functioning new range. In addition, he advised us on the benefits of replacing a toilet (instead of replacing a part in the old one), and he completed that installation as well. (We have just received the lowest water bill in the 35 years at this location). We highly recommend the services of Mr. Fixit!

After reading the reviews on Mr. Fix-it I called and asked him to give me an estimate. He showed up told me it would take one day. I said great, I was getting carpet installed on Wednesday. I called him back on Friday after I received 2 more estimates and told him I would like him to do the job. The job was to have the wall s"Paint Ready".
Mr. Fix-it was to start on Tuesday morning 28 May 2012, since I had a graduation party on 1 June the sooner the better . At 9:10 A.M he called and left a message that he had some things come up and would not be starting until Wednesday. I called him back and he told me that it would have to slip a day. I informed him that I had the carpet being installed on Wednesday so I had to have it done on Tuesday. He said he would try to move somethings around and be out at 12:00. He showed up at 12:30 P.M.
He worked until 6:30 P.M I talked to him and he said he could go sit someplace until the wall dried, it would take a couple of hours. He told me that he had maybe an hour of finish sanding to do and that was all. I told him that since it would take 2 hours to dry and only an hour to sand he should come back in the morning. I informed him that I needed him back at the house in the morning since I did not know what time the carpet installer would be there. He said he would be back first thing in the morning as soon as he got up. At 9:15 A.M he called and said he would be late since he forgot his latter. He showed up at 9:30.
Mr Fix it worked until 1:30 P.M a lot longer than one hour. The carpet installer showed up at 2 P.M and I did not get a chance to look over the walls. After the carpet was installed I needed to paint the walls. That is when I got to see what Mr. Fix it did not do. You can see screw holes not filled in a total of 6 on one wall 5 on another. You can see the drywall tape at every joint and the wall that he fixed has a seam at the old drywall to new drywall that is very visible.
So..It was not started or finished on time and work was not the best...I guess the guy that can get it done the fastest, was not the best at all. Cost was cheap and so was some of the work. I am not sure I would ask him to come back again. That being said I did not have to do the work and he was the cheapest.

He never made a specified list of materials. He wanted to be paid $1387.50 before the job started. I paid him months before the work started. The job at the end is satisfactory but he had to be told about the problems. Do your research before hiring this company. I was very glad to see the end of him. He seems to be very unbusinesslike like. People should get estimate on labor and materials, they should refused to use used parts.
Response from Mr Fix-It - Home Improvement
"My policy, and that of any other reputable contractor, is to have the customer advance at least part of the cost of materials before work starts. Was I expected to cover the cost of materials [$1400] out-of-pocket? Who would do such a thing? Who would expect a contractor to do such a thing? There were no surprises here - all work tasks and the approximate cost of materials were itemized in writing and discussed in detail before the contract was agreed to. Furthermore, part way through I noticed a decided shift in the customer's enthusiasm for the job; I believe the customer began to have budget concerns and began to look for reasons to complain to justify paying less than agreed. Trying to be sensitive to their dilemma, I offered to cut costs for them by using a fully-operational used appliance instead of facing the expense of purchasing a new one. After accepting this courtesy, they let their snoopy neighbor convince them that I was trying to defraud them. [Sigh]"

Overall it was GREAT. There was one glitch in moving the stove, where a handle was broken, but he restored it, as good as new.
The oven was level and works like a charm in the new spot.

I got a call from renters in my house in dayton, complaining about water comming into the basement. Tracy reinstalled drain lines for the roof rain gutters that were leaking and laid plastic and gravel near the foundation of the house. Basement used to leak a little, but after his work, which took about 4 days, the house never leaked in the basement again, and we jsut had record rains in the Dayton area (2011). Tracy is a very hard worker who is an artist at heart, and likes of have an outstanding product. Although he's not the cheapest price, I'd hire him again, especially where I want attention to detail and a nice finish.
