Micah's Transmission

We took our Dodge to Michas on May 12 to have the transmission replaced. Micah ran into electrical problems with our truck that he was not able to fix. He then sent the truck (without consulting us) to another shop and at that point stopped answering our calls or responding to messages. We finally got our truck back on August 12, in worse shape than when we dropped it off. Micah might be able to fix a transmission. We can't attest to that at this point because the truck is not running, the dash cover is off and wires are exposed all over the place. If there is even a remote possibility that your vehicle has an electrical issue, please take it to a mechanic who is knowledgeable in ALL aspects of fixing it, not this guy.

I stopped in owner's shop on friday evening about 4pm. He look at my vehical and gave me a price of $250.00 to replace my shiffter cable and flush and service my transmission. He was going to pick up the part on Saturday and have me stop by that morning to have it repaired but he ran into a couple of unexpected problems on the vehicle he was working on Friday afternoon so he had to put me off till Monday morning. When I came back monday at noon to pick my truck up he told me taht the prblem was not the cable but the shifter module was defective and that this part was much cheapper and easier to repair so my total cost came to about $200. I appreciated his down home honesty and would recomend his service shop to anyone. He is small and does most the work himself so you have to be a little flexible in case he runs into one of those unexpected problems, but he take pride in his work and you are a name not a number there. My truck has had no problems and it's been 6 weeks since the repair. Thank You for  a job well done Michah.

Initially ran obd code at home and came back with sensor problem. Was a dealer part so dropped off at Voss Toyota Beavercreek, was told the transmission was shot. Towed to Micah's and he ran a diagnostic which came back with same code i had. He cleaned the the sensor and did the additional work I requested in a timely, honest and professional manner.

I initially had my car towed to a local auto service. After they found that the problem was probably beyond their abilities, they towed it to Micah's. I asked Micah to do his own inspection. Within a day or so, he got back to me with a diagnosis and a quote. My car is a 1998 sport car that has had no major work done it. So normally, it runs well -- the engine is still running smoothly so it is worth it to me to get it fixed within reason, of course.
Micah's quote for a complete master/slave clutch assembly, cables, and brake system flush was approx $1400, labor included. I checked around -- no one could beat his price. I asked him if it was absolutely necessary to replace and he said if it was him, he'd keep an eye on it and keep driving it until the clutch gave out. I am so glad I took his advice as the car has been running fine. Every once in a while, the pressure is momentarily lost in the clutch, but otherwise the car runs smoothly.
I said ok -- I will wait a bit before I spend the money. So guess what? He brought the car back to my house! What a guy! Thank you!
Eventually, the clutch assembly will have to be replaced. Then, I will call Micah.
