Paid $29.99 a month buteach time they came they could find something wrong. The monthly charge is supposed to take away service call fees but they still charged a service call fee on a Saturday when the heater messed up then after paying it they said it would not be fixed until Monday when they could get in the warehouse then pay over $300 to fix it! So why charge a fee to not fix it! I have a McAfee A/C so its their own stuff that messed up too. Then just last month they came out for a regular check up and said I needed a new heater and turned it OFF! Family stayed in the cold until I could get home to turn the has line and circuit back on. The next day a McAfee salesman came to say I needed a $10,000 furnace. I called another HVAC company and they said we could use a new heater as some of the parts are rusted but no hurries, and no charge!

Difficult company to work with. Will sell you a service contract that you can cancel any time after two years but when you cancel after three years they want you to pay 5 more months. Stay away.

Horrible experience. Man came in tried to sell me a bunch of stuff I didn't need . Told them never come back. Tried to stop plan because I wasn't happy. They made me keep plan. Nothing but thieves . Never use again, or refer them to anyone. But will tell them my story.

Our furnace was leaking water from the evaporator coil. Their technician messed around with the furnace for a while before giving up on taking the front panel off, pried it open instead, and looked inside for a minute to conclude the drain was clogged. He blew air through it once and left without even testing it. He told me what he did might work but there was probably nothing we could do besides *replacing the entire thing*, then he charged me $90 and left. Of course, it started leaking again as soon as he left. He also left the screws he removed on the floor where they fell and I had to put them back in. We just had a technician from another company come in today and fix the leak completely within 30 minutes without even opening the furnace (he seemed to have much better equipment). Besides the poor service itself, the owner of this company is a proud racist conspiracy theorist, and judging by the two technicians we've had in the past 2 months, none of the employees bother wearing masks when they enter your home.

My A/C was at first not turning on, McAfee promptly came out and replaced a shorted wire and had it up and running in 20 minutes, tech was very courteous and conscious of keeping my house clean ($79). 2 weeks later my A/C wouldn't turn OFF. I pulled the breakers and had them come out again to replace the contactor which was burnt up for $257. Again tech was courteous and timely. A week or two later my A/C AGAIN wouldn't turn on... this was on a Friday, I choose to have them come out Monday because I didn't want to pay an "emergency" fee of $79 even though I was in the comfort club. Upon reviewing the unit they started adding up all the parts that would need replacement. The circut board (now in furnace for $670), a new contactor, ect. which they said all would start adding up to almost $1-2k so why not just get a completely new A/C and furnace. I had been without an A/C all weekend (and yes it was hot and humid) and they said the first they come back that wasn't during the day (they say they're 8-8 but will go out of their way not to do evening visits) was the following Saturday. That was their major mistake. Upon recommendation from friends that said McAfee are known for over pricing and replacing units I called JB Heating and Air that Wednesday. JB came out the very afternoon I called AND the following two days because it took extra time to find the short in the wiring that was causing all the issues. He and his associate replaced the contactor (which should have been a single not a double that McAfee put in) for $45. The circuit board for $185, and only two service call fees at $75 each even though they really came for three. They went well out of their way to find the root of the problem instead of costing me thousands of dollars for a completely new furnace and A/C. I asked McAfee for a reimbursement for the contactor only for $200. They declined saying they don't price gauge and that they were not misleading me in replacing my entire system (even though their parts are typically x6 retail.) Also, they said I can't go to the BBB just for pricing issues. Again, their staff and techs were very courteous but this company is TOO EXPENSIVE. I have since gotten out of their comfort club and would not recommend. Considering I work in the second largest company in Dayton behind the base, I feel besides recounting my story here... the price was higher for them in the long run.

Very well, I have nothing to compare it to. The workers were nice and professional and seemed efficient. They left a little debris on my driveway but it was a wet rainy day and probably hard to clean up completely.

I'd give them an overall grade of "A". The price is a little bit expensive. They were very responsive and they were on time. They took good care of what I needed them to do at the time.

Searched for another company - who corrected return air problem and replaced current furnace with Rheem high efficiency furnace and installed extra exhaust flue for $3850.00.
Response from McAfee Heating & Air Conditioning

"We apologize for the delay in responding to you. In reviewing our records, it does appear we responded quickly to your call for service. The repair quote we provided you to replace the ECM motor was not inexpensive, especially when taking into consideration the age of the existing system. Our technician felt it best to give you the options to repair or replace. We are glad you were able to have a new furnace installed for a price you found to be more agreeable. We sincerely hope you will receive the same level of service and professionalism in dealing with this other person/company. Please know that we will also continue to service your equipment for as long as you like, I see we just completed your air-conditioner checkup as part of your Comfort Club Membership!"

I guess our experience has been good with them. It was pretty pricey, but other than that I think it was good. They showed up on time, professional, and quality work. Our furnace went out first and that was in like December or January and after that I think in that same year or I want to say the following year they replaced the A/C during the Spring time. They were professional. I would use them again for services, but not for replacements, because of the price.

I joined their maintenance program where you pay every month and they come out on the seasons to make sure everything is ok and if there is something you need, they take so much off because you joined their maintenance program. I like that. They come out 4 times a year.

They are punctual, professional, knowledgeable and they are reasonable.

They adjust things like if the blower is not blowing hard enough or there's some little thing like a bracket had come loose and it was making a lot of noise so they fixed that. I trust them.

It was time for our annual AC tune-up and coincidentally our AC stopped working about the same time. I called for an appointment to have both services done. McAfee diagnosed a leak in our outdoor coil which as the reason our AC was not cooling the house and I received an invoice indicating that the tune-up had been performed as well. After we hired a different company to fix the AC so that we could take full advantage of our extended warranty, the AC was working fine. A few days later we noticed the floor in the basement was wet. Looked in the utility room and the AC was the source of the problem. After looking in the unit (which was full of construction debris), I determined the drain was plugged. I unplugged it and and removed some of the debris. I called McAfee to complain about the issue. I've now had the original tech (who said he cleaned it but really didn't) come back, then his manager came back to re-do the tune-up and talked to 2 different office people ...and no one has yet offered to compensate me for the hours I spent cleaning the water out of my basement, time off work for all these phone calls and visits from McAfee. They are just concerned about whether I plan to remain a Comfort Club customer. Needless to say, I will not be and I will not do business with this company any longer.
