Kettering Moving & Storage- North American Lines

I would never recommend them. I absolutely would not use them again. They've been reported to the Better Business Bureau in Indianapolis, in Ohio, and on social media. They are headquartered in Indianapolis but the people who moved us, their representative is in Dayton, Ohio.

Great. The two movers, Bob & Brad, were on time, courteous and very conscientious. I would definitely recommend Mayberry's.

We didn't get a good group of packers and movers. We've moved a few times and this was hands down our worst move, due to the movers. The guy in charge of the movers/packers was bad: unprofessional, pushy, took food from our refrigerator without asking, slammed the door on us, didn't show up on time, wanted to stand around and talk all day and not do his job, their paper work was illegible, inaccurate and horrible and they were a nightmare in accurately marking the boxes they packed (they said they didn't have time to mark boxes accurately). On top of all of that, they overcharged us by not counting the number of boxes that they packed accurately. Of course, they stated that they packed more then they actually did. Last but certainly not the least, we filed an insurance damage claim for the things that they broke or damaged during the move. The biggest item was a very nice, mohogany antique server that 1 of the movers admitted to us that he put his hand right through one of the doors of when he was moving it; very bad, unrepairable damage. Of course, I don't think he was planning to tell us about it until we saw it first and then he said 'oh yeah, I was planning to mention that to you', even though he was on his way out the door at the end of the day. He told us not to worry about it since "it's covered by insurance and the insurance company will pay you for that." Well, we filed our insurance claim and low and behold the insurance company denied our claim on this antique server (and other things) since they said they talked to the guy who admitted to us that he put his hand through the door and now he doesn't remember doing that and that this door must have been very weak for this sort of thing to happen. The company's lack of integrity with respect to our insurance damage is appalling.

MISSING, BROKEN and NOT REPLACEBLE ITEMS We did get in touch with the BBB and Ken Mayberry and North American Van Lines now have an "F" rating!!! With the BBB again that is NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES and KEN MAYBERRY!!!! He(Ken) told us a check was in the mail....still waiting 10 months!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! Also in touch with BBB in Indiana where they have headquarters. At this time they have an A+ rating! Don't know why. They also did nothing to help. They don't deserve that kind of a rating ! This also has been put on Facebook and I am not done yet! Bad company to do business with!!! Please don't use them or you'll be sorry you did!

Not well. Crews were no adequate for the project. Their estimated timing was not at all accurate. Some of our possessions were damaged. Communication with the company's rep was very difficult. They promised a refund due to damage to our possessions but still have not provided it.

The reason I selected them is because it was a really small job, and their pricing was very reasonable, allowing for pro-rated in quarter-hour increments, where the other moving companies rates were geared for big jobs and only offered services in full hour increments plus an additional flat rate just to come out.
I was donating a lot of furniture to a charity, but the charity wasn't insured to carry furniture up/down stairs. I didn't want to spend $$$ just to move furniture that I  was giving away. Kettering Moving and Storage made it affordable for me to do.
they arrived on time, completed the work without and breaks/damage, and the did it in less time that originally estimated! Very happy with the results and I will choose them again for small projects or if I ever decide to move.

They were great! They gave us a quote on the spot. They gave us two estimates: one if they pack everything for $12,000 and one if they pack everything for 15,000. We would be moving everything from Ohio or California.

Staff was very professional and friendly. They worked non stop and were very careful with our stuff. The estimate was made very professionally and were very understanding. Moving is very stressfull, but Ken made it very simple and even gave us few tips in order to maximize their services and save some money.

I would rate the job a B. I dislike the fact that all moving companies are pretty much the same in that they sell you the world and then there are mistakes and damages. They are your best friend until you have a problem after the fact. I think that is normal for movers but I thought I had somebody different; but that was not the case. However, they were okay for moving companies. I will tell everyone to pack any sensitive items yourself and cushion them really well because movers don't use bubble wrap or peanuts because they are expensive. I will use them again in the future.

We first met Kettering Moving and Storage Inc. when we moved from California to Dayton. The company we started with ended up sub-contracting the arrival of our goods to Kettering Moving and Storage. Right away we could tell they were different than the company we had to deal with on the California end. The guys were very friendly, fast, and careful. Then we we bought a home here in Dayton, we called Kettering Moving and Storage to see if they would help us again with moving from our rental to our new home. They have a rate sheet and work at a rate per hour that we felt was very reasonable. Moving is always uncomfortable. And I don't think you can find any company that is completely graceful with your belongings. So customer service goes a long way. Kettering Moving and Storage provided excellent customer service.

A man came to my house and looked at my belongings in order to give me an estimate on moving. He told me he would call me the following Tuesday with the estimate. He never called and I did not call him. People in business need to follow through. If they don't I do not pursue them.

They didn't really do what they said they were going to do. They sent the movers to pack us, and we were expecting professional packers. The packing job was not done very well. Sometimes there were plastic plates that were packed in tons of paper and others weren't and things got broken. It left a bad taste in our mouths. We talked to the owner because it was such a fiasco, and he never offered to give us any money off or anything, but he offered for us to send in a claim. They didn't even put our bed back together right. It was really not a very good job. They were lower in price than somewhere else. The management was responsive, but some of the people that were here were tired. They did get the job done, but it really wasn't in the quality that I expected. They were responsive. They sent extra people here to meet the truck to help unpack. They were late coming to pack both days, but they were on time on moving day. They didn't spend as much time as they said they would in the estimate, and they weren't professional packers, they were the guys that did the moving. For the most part, I would give them a B on professionalism. They were things that weren't done right, like they didn't put our bed back right, there was damage, but they did offer to fix it.
