The results were outstanding and Tom and his team were a great group with which to work. The cost was exceptionally reasonable. In the future, Harville Home Improvement will be my go-to organization for any home improvements.

HHI showed up on time to provide a quote for both jobs. In the case of the repair of weather damage to three dormers on our roof, they provided options for repair and recommended what they felt was the best course of action. There was no attempt to expand the job beyond what was actually needed. The quote provided included all labor and materials and was roughly half of what I received from other contractors. Dean performed the actual repairs and did an excellent job. Our front door is fiberglass and needed to be stripped and re-stained. HHI was one of the few contractors I found that had actually done this before and was able to discuss what would be needed based upon actual experience. Dean did this work as well and did an excellent job. In some areas, he needed to apply stripper 9 times just to get the old polyurethane and stain off the fiberglass. I have recommended Harville Home Improvement to our neighbors because of the quality of work performed at a reasonable price.

His men finished the job over two days: installed Z flashing above the water table and 1x4 cedar wood bar over the loose panels, painted, and sealed all the gaps. I am very satisfied with their work and will recommend this company to anyone.

Couldn't ask for a better job from anyone! Tom Harville is very friendly and professional. He and his crew did an outstanding job on our siding replacement. Can't beat the price, communication or quality. Highly recommended and I will be using his company again for future home improve projects.

All in all, things went very well. They went above and beyond initial request, due to other items we desired to change as job progressed. To do all that for us, despite some really horrendous weather is just awesome. Definitely have Tom and his guys in mind for any further work that comes up.

Our house was built in 1924 and has many architectural details not found in newer homes. We have wanted to side our house for some time since it needed painting every few years but we did not want to lose the detail. Fortunately we found Tom Harville. He and his team (especially Allen) are indeed artists who take great pride in their work.Tom works on the job himself along with his crew. He was easy to communicate with. They far exceeded our expectations and I strongly recommend their services.

This was a large exterior project on house we are yet to move into, moving back to US from overseas. Tom made the whole process much easier than I imagined possible. He had the project scoped out and ready to go to meet my tight travel timeline, and was responsive throughout. Very easy to work with and good advice on how to proceed. He personally kept tabs on the work of his roofing, windows, painting, and gutters teams, all of which were very efficient and did high-quality jobs. With all the work we had planned for an old house, I worried a bit how much the final price would differ from the estimate, but there was no need to as Tom charged exactly what he quoted, plus a few boards we knew up front would be added as needed. Tom was friendly and reliable throughout, and someone I will look to again for jobs big or small.

The value Tom gave was incredible when compared to the estimates that others brought in.
Despite mix ups on the supplier's end, he was there when he said he would be there and the work was completed in a timely way. The work site was cleaned up with no damage to my lawn. The work looks great and the extras that were promised during the estimate process were all done in top notch fashion with no nagging on my part.
There were a couple of small hicups along the way, but they were handled in a way that satisfied all.
Tom patiently explained to me the details of any question I had. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

Found Tom on Angie's List. Responded quickly and came personally to see what needed to done. Said he had an excellent carpenter/painter in his network who would do it really well and was very experienced with cedar siding, but was on another job for a week or so. This colleague came by after a week or so and advised Tom what it would take. Tom provided estimate based on that. Had to wait a week or so then to get it done due to a little miscommunication. But the work got done last week while I was out of town. Looks terrific. Even new paint over old matches well. Good work, personable, professional. Would use again.

I have worked with Tom for over 25 years. He has replaced roofs for me and friends ( that would be 4 or 5 roofs), he has replaced all my window in my previous condo and 17 windows in my current residence. He has replaced vinyl on a friends garage. This time he hung awnings for me. He kept in constant contact with me to let me know who the awnings were coming, since they had to be specially made. To make sure his job was done perfect, he came out and measured twice and took pictures. He also helped solve a problem with my spouting and leaking from the spouting.
Everytime I have called him, HE answers his phone. When I call, he is out the NEXT day to inspect the problem, even if he is on a big job, he takes the time for ME.
Once, while talking with Tom, he said he loves getting up in the morning and going to work, he loves what he does! How many of us can say that? And, I believe him, you can tell in his quality of work. Never half steps....His workmanship has been perfect EVERY TIME. Can't go wrong with Mr. Tom Harville!

It went very, very well. Tom was very responsive and informative from the early estimating, through the decision making to work completion. They came when they said they would, did what they proposed and finished on time. Tom
responded to questions and issues as they developed, including rebuilding a porch railing and concrete step that was damaged in the course of work. He made no fuss about this even though the step was not completely their fault.
I especially appreciated that Tom is not just the estimator/salesman but the job foreman on site every day working with his guys. That experience and craftsmanship was valuable. Our house required much fine trim work because of the many angles and the old settling frame. The finished job looks great AND they came in under budget.

My roof was leaking. I called Harville Home Improvement on Monday, September 16, 2013. Rain was expected on Wednesday. Thomas Harville, the owner, personally inspected the roof on Tuesday. He could not fix the roof until Friday. So, he
covered the roof with tarp to prevent further damage from the ensuing heavy downpour. The rain stopped on Friday,
September 20, 2013. As promised, Thomas Harville fixed the roof and covered the ceiling stains inside the house that
were caused by the leaks. The Dayton area has experienced heavy rains since September 20. No leaks.
Thomas Harville personally performed the work and oversaw the work of anyone else on the job. He charged what he said he would in an estimate, cleaned up after himself, and provided a written warranty. I am completely satisfied with his work. I
would recommend him to others.

We were impressed with Tom from our fist contact with him. Hie experience and professionalism shined through from the quotation phase to the clean-up phase.
Our house is a brick ranch with a walk-out basement. The old vinyl siding must have been 20+ years old and would splinter into pieces when you tried to remove any of it. Our soffits and much of the trim work was painted wood that was peeling badly and is a nightmare to paint. We told Tom we wanted the siding, gutters, and downsputs replaced and we wanted all the trim work ad soffits covered so we never have to worry about painting them again. He shared some good ideas with us which we agreed we would like him to do.
Wednesday night we told him we would like him to begin ASAP and he began the project the following Tuesday. He estimated one week to complete the job. He and his son were here each day except one, (due to heavy rain throughout the day).
There was an extensive amount of meticulous trim work in the back of the house where the walk-out basement and garage doors are. Tom expertly covered every inch of wood with beautifully crafted aluminum trim which required him to custom cut, bend, and attach many pieces of various shapes and sizes. He performed the work like a true craftsman.
Once the back of the house was completed, Tom and his son breezed through the rest of the job with the same precision and craftsmanship. Today, they installed the custom-made 6and quot; gutters and downspouts, completed a few more pieces of trim, caulked, and hauled away the mess.
Tom was right on the money with his estimate of the time required to do the work. Our negihbors were so impressed with his work that a couple of them asked Tom for an estimate for some work they need done.
We would highly recommend Tom for any siding project you may have. He was professional and courteous throughout the entire project. Consequently, we have asked him for an estimate to replace our roof in the not too distant future. Tom may not be the and quot;low bidderand quot; but I have learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. With Tom, you get a true professional craftsman.
