Mr. Harmony helped us deal with two problems. The bathroom
had been painted with oil based paint and we did not want to use oil base again. He researched the best way to paint over oil based paint. He used a special primer first which worked on three of the walls but for some reason the oil paint bled through on one wall. Mr. Harmony came back at no extra charge and repainted the wall and it looks great. The other problem that we had was that our toilet tissue holder was ceramic and it was yellow. We were going to get a new one that matched the bathroom but since it was attached to the wall we would have had to take it off and plaster before we attached a new one. He investigated and found a spray paint that would stick to ceramic and it worked great and we did not have all the mess that comes with plastering.
Also, we told Mr. Harmony that we wanted to use Sherwin Williams Paint and he told us to wait awhile and he could get the paint for 40% off because they were going to have a special sale. He helped us save some money.
We plan to have Mr. Harmony paint our kitchen and some closets this spring.
Dean and his crew (3 total) were great to work with and did a very good job. They worked very hard and were pleasant to our family. It was a lot of work and detail, and some unexpected things (rotted wood) came up that they had to deal with. I would just make sure you agree (or at least discuss) some of the details (type of paint, colors, how to treat rotted wood, sanding and scraping, etc.) upfront. Overall, very good to work with and we'd use them again.
They were professional, friendly, skilled, and were always clean and on schedule.
Dean Harmony, the owner, was on site with his crew, and all members of his crew were very respectful and professional.
I would hire them a million times over again, and have recommended them to any friends who need to have painting done.
The work is holding up beautifully.
Everyday they came to work on time, worked well, and kept their work area very clean, and cleaned up PERFECTLY after the job each day.
We had other workers in the home at the same time, doing other jobs (kitchen renovation, carpet install), and Harmony Painting was incredibly accommodating and helpful with adjusting their work if schedule conflicts arose with other jobs.
When movers came through and bumped a few painted walls / door frames with furniture, Harmony painting touched up the work without me even asking!
Several months after the job, my sons scratched some paint off of a baseboard when moving furniture, and Dean came out and repainted promptly.
I would recommend them highly to anyone who wants to have painting work done in the Greater Dayton area.
