After the work was done we had a few strong rains and the ceiling started leaking. It came through the roof and the attic and all the way into our family room. The ceiling is now cracked from the leak. When we had them out (multiple times) they blamed us for the leak and told us that they were not responsible for the wood paneling under the roof shingles during the roof replacement - only the shingles. Even though when we were sold the roof we were promised by the sales department that any old wood would be replaced (and there were even some wood sheets they had available on the site that they did not use). After the fact they told us we would have had to ask for them to be replaced and it would have cost extra.
This went on for months and they came out multiple times but certainly didn't seem in any way like they wanted to make it right. They were more interested in putting it back on us as if it was our fault. I have never been so unhappy and insulted by a service provider in my life. I would never hire them for a job nor would I recommend them to anyone for any job.
"In review of the job noted above, the individual’s that were employed with Greater Dayton Construction either; designer, sales or supervision are no longer employees of Greater Dayton Construction. As the Director of Residential Construction I was given this Angie’s List Review to research and respond. Respecting the [member name removed]’s comments, the time that has lapsed plus the individuals who are no longer with Greater Dayton I can only offer the changes since 2005/06. Both ownership and management felt the need to restructure and refocus the Building and Remodeling Division years ago. Their first step in accomplishing this was a new position; Director of Residential Construction. We have made significant changes to our staff and our processes. Along with the internal changes we have worked to address our vendor and sub-contractor base. From the selling of our projects through our production concluding with our punch out process we have reset all “expectations” internally and externally focusing on how it can best impact our client’s experience. What I can say and feel quite strong about are the positive changes and refocussing that have taken place. Our goal as a company is to make every client a customer for life. I apologize for the inconvenience we may have created and wish I could have addressed the topic personally at the time the work was being experienced at the [member name removed]’s residence. Sincerely, Dan Brower"
