Gilkey truly lives up to their reputation of quality and the install was so smooth. I really thought the demo of the old door would cause a lot of damage. Replace entire house with new windows.

The replacement of the windows went very well. However, the next day we noticed several scratches in one window and an internal flaw in another. Gilkey Windows responded right away by sending someone out to see the problem. They are going to replace these windows.

Their price was competitive. We have been happy. I had a good experience with them. We would probably go with them again.

It went as expected, there were no problems.

The install team arrived on time as was so well-organized, they reminded me of a crack military commando operation!  Each installer was assigned to specific windows and rooms, and knew exactly where they were going, despite none of them every having been in the house before.  They all seemed very proficient and well-trained.  The install went fast and without a hitch.  It's rained a few times since the install, and so far, no leaks, nor do I expect any, based on the apparent quality of their workmanship and the windows themselves.  
The only minor glitch was an over-anxious team member who tried to collect the balance payment prematurely, well before the installation -- much less the homeowner inspection and the clean-up -- was complete.  A more senior and reasonable team member stepped in to allow for completion, cleanup, and inspection prior to accepting the final payment.

We took several original window replacement estimates.

It came down to two based on best quality, Champion and Gilkey.

We chose Gilkey because:

1.  They don't subcontract the work.  Actual Gilkey employees come out and replace the windows.  They work with these windows every day, and know them well.  Champion subcontracts.

2.  Gilkey has a lifetime TRANSFERABLE warranty.  When we sell our house, this will be an additional feature.  Champion couldn't match the warranty.

3.  We actually liked the hive like window construction of Gilkey better than the Champion window.

4.  Best of all, once Gilkey realized their original quote was more than Champion's, they not only matched Champion's price, but BEAT IT by $500!!

Considering all the extra benefits besides the windows, we couldn't pass it up!

Two Gilkey employees showed up at 8am with the new windows and started work.  They ripped out the old windows without damaging the inside or outside, and took them away when finished.  I don't even have to re-paint the area around the inside of the windows!!  These windows look like they've always been here!!It took them all of 4.5 hours to do 13 windows, two very large ones included.  They didn't break a single item of landscaping, or leave a scrap of debris in the yard.  When they left, you couldn't tell they were ever here.

They did good work and the windows are excellent. I haven't had any problems with the windows. They are not cheap.

They were a good company. The quote was fair. They originally put our windows in, that was why I called them. They provided the windows so I have been happy with the company. However, I used another company who did everything, from roof damage to everything else. They had fair prices and their quality was good. In terms of overall experience, they were a good company; I had been pleased with them in the past when they did the work on the windows and they were prompt on this too, no fault of theirs. I would use their services for another quote again in the future.

I had an in house quote done where they measured and then quoted it out several different ways. I choose the options that worked for me on the spot and got my quote. Later the sales person came back after I had decided to go with them and made the initial purchase. They gave me a timeline for the production of the windows and then promptly followed up when they were done and set up a date to install. On that day they arrived on time and installed all 7 windows in the morning. After the install the installers walked me through what they did and had me make the final payment with all the paperwork.

They were very professional and everything went fine. They were very honest.

Except for ordering the wrong color on the doors, they handled it very well. They reordered the doors in the color we wanted and finished the job. Since it was winter, they began and finished in the same day at each location.

We were satisfied that Gilkey finished the job on time and we liked what they had done, but we were kind of upset that a job they told us would take only 5 weeks to complete, wound up taking close to 14 weeks. Their quality was good but next time I will have to get it in writing before I allow any work to be done.
