The first time we used Tony's company, it went pretty good. we had 4 glass block windows installed at our church. It took 3 guys all day to install four windows. Not really a problem. So we decided to have the last 3 windows replaced. Again Tony come wright out and gave an estimate. I approved the estimate. This when all the problems began. We got an install date six weeks out.I called Tony asking why so far out ? The first windows were there in less than two weeks. Tony became Rude and short, said he would try to make it sooner if possible. Well he never changed anything. When the same 3 guys come to install the last 3 windows, the pastor met them. He ask them to look at some small cracks in the mortar from first windows. They gave him a sad song and wouldn't do anything. The pastor called me. I went and told the guys it wasn't wright and they needed to look at the problem. Amazing the three windows were installed in less than three hours with a lunch break this time. Then they ask for a check without an invoice or any other paper work. Tony makes a nice window , But so does everyone else at the same price. We will NEVER use Gem City again. Beware Tony Professes to be a CHRISTIAN ???? Feel Free to Call ME 937-524-7313

On five of the Windows they did OK, although cleanup wasn't the best.
On one of the window they crack my wall.
They replace six windows in my basement and left cracks in my wall. I had six
windows in my basement replaced by Gem City. In replacing one window I don't
know how but they left two cracks in my wall. I don't know if it was done from
taking the old window out or putting the new in. I text and email pictures to
the General Manager Tony Caserta. He called me back and was very rude. He told
me that there is no way his people did this. Then I told him that the cracks
were not there before and he basically called me a liar, saying that they were
there. Told me in a very rude voice he wasn't playing that game and that there
is nothing I can do about it.

Had a great experience with the man who came out to do the estimate -- we had an afternoon free and he was able to come meet us the same day, within a couple of hours, which was great. He was friendly and answered all our questions, and was not pushy at all; didn't try to sell us stuff we didn't need. It took us a couple of weeks to schedule the installation, which was fine. I was slightly annoyed that the installers were about an hour and a half late, but in all fairness they did call and let us know that they were running behind. But it ended up making them stay later in the afternoon than I would have wanted. All in all, however, it was a good experience. They did a good job -- even asked us to take a look before they did the final cementing in, which was nice. They did a fairly decent job cleaning up after themselves and didn't disturb the flower beds outside, though they did drive in our neighbor's yard a little bit (not horribly so) We're happy with our new windows, and would recommend to anyone.

Work was completed on time and professionally. Estimate was dead on, no additional charges. They cleaned all debris and took with them. Glass block windows look great inside and out.

The job was rescheduled once due to possible rain. Final installation and cleaning of window wells was delayed, 2 to 3 days after windows installed. Overall, very good job! It was done well and all cleaned up. Met estimate.

After obtaining a few estaments Gem City was a little higher, however there were several factors to consider.
They are a local company, with a good rating here on Angies List. They do not sub-contract, and are able to get the work done quickly.
They replaced two basement windows, which were original to my home (about 60yrs old).
They were in bad condition, previous owners had kept adding mortor around the metal frames, to stop leaks rather than replace them.
Workers arrived earlier than planned, however that is a good thing! After looking at the windows, they got straight to work, no use of profanity, respectful, careful to move plants, heavy furniture safely away from the work area. Explaining the types of materials used, and what to expect from the installed glass blocks.
When the job was completed the area was completely cleaned up, with everything hauled away with them.
Very pleased with their work and ethic! Good job, and I am a picky person!

It went very well. Technician was on time, installed quickly, results are great. The only negative is he left a lot of debris on the ground from the tear out of the old windows.

The work was really good. They came out very quickly, and they knew what they were doing. They had pretty good prices as far as glass blocks go. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.
