Years ago I left FitWorks for another fitness club, one because we moved, but primarily for price reasons. But, I came back when FitWorks starting get more cost competitive and not requiring a yearly contract. Since I plan on staying for a while I did sign up for 1 year (actually paid in advance - not a contract with a penalty) which gave me 3 months free (15 month total). Like most all fitness centers they do have a yearly fee (around $10 or $20 - can't remember) for equipment maintenance. Watch for specials. They occasionally offer zero enrollment fee - which is normally $49.
There is always a fair number of people there, but plenty of equipment to use with little or no wait time. One thing I like about FitWorks that caused me to leave other fitness centers is the volume at which they play music. I can actually hear my music in my earbuds without it being drowned out by what they play over the ceiling speakers. I like keeping my hearing in good shape, too.
