We are writing this letter because of the very poor performance we received from the Erie Home office in Dayton. We had an issue with her roof where it was leaking, especially around a roof fan. She saw an ad for Erie Home and decided to call them for an appointment. We met with a Cameron Villarreal on Sept 26, 2022, who greatly impressed us with product knowledge, company presentation, and caring attitude. He said they were a family with their customers. He said they would remove the roof fan and plug the hole. He explained how the shingles they used was a premium product in the way it was manufactured. He further explained that Erie Home added two beads of adhesive to each shingle to insure it would stick especially without hot days. Cameron told us we would be getting called within a few days and on the schedule within a couple of weeks. Even though we felt the price was higher than what we could have gotten the job done for, I convinced Barbara that even though the price was higher, I felt it was a good value based on Cameron and his knowledge of the forth coming installation. Cameron told us that after the work was done, not to sign the release until we are satisfied and then give them the check. However, if we felt better about it, he would come do a final walk through and get the check. We waited the 2 days to resend the contract but felt very good about what Cameron told us. After a week had passed, there was still no response. I tried to call Cameron with no response. I then texted him, where he responded that he would look into it. Still no response. I tried calling Cameron again, this time no response from him. After another week later with no response from anyone, I finally contacted Erie Home where I talked to a rep there, who furthered on the information. 2 days later we finally got on the schedule. They came out and did the work but tried to pressure us into signing the release right away. Upon looking over the job, they left a roof fan in that they were supposed to remove. It was not done. The guy who came by later that night according to those present, seemed stoned and was incoherent in his speech. I tried again to reach out to Cameron with no response. I called Erie Home again to talk to a rep. I asked to speak to the general manager. I ended up talking to a Dustin who claimed to be the regional manager. Dustin at that point told me that if Cameron came back to a customer after the sale was finalized, he would fire Cameron. This was very shocking to me as my life has always been in sales and management. Cameron was the one to instill the confidence that we initially had with the company. The Salesman is the face of your company and the one the customer trusts. I asked Dustin to fix the issues and give me a call back. I received NO Response. I then got hold of the Customer Service Manager, Danielle Royer, on October 21st, 2022, explaining all of this to her. She said she would look into it. I asked her to call me back that day, where she said she or an installation manager would contact me yet that day. NO Response. They finally came back on Oct the 24th to fix the roof. Once again tried to pressure us to sign off. We told them that she wanted Cameron to come out for the walk through and get the check as promised. A supervisor called her, and tried to pressure us, saying that Salespeople do not come back out. At this point, we have lost all confidence in Cameron, Erie Home, and any warranty that the roof has. We are not convinced that it is done correctly considering the patch job they had to do to correct the oversights. We want the Cameron to come back out and we are wanting Erie Home to pay for an independent roofing inspector to make sure that the roof was done correctly, especially the patched area. We met with Dustin and James (the installation manager) on Oct the 27th where we told them all of our concerns and that we have lost all confidence it their salesperson and company. They kept telling us that the job was warranted. However, we at this time had no confidence in the warranty. They agreed to the independent inspection to be paid from the final balance. The roofing inspector came out. Looked over the roof, took several pictures, and voiced some concern about the thickness of the shingles. He said there was no evidence of any adhesive added to the shingles. The report he sent showed several pictures. It also talked about many nails not properly driven in. He also speaks of the shingles not sealing (which the adhesive was supposed to accomplish). At this stage, we are unsure how to best proceed. Erie Home has not fulfilled the promises of there Salesperson and their company seems less than caring. The installation is nowhere close to what was promised. Nowhere near the family attitude that Cameron portrayed.
