Jim gave us a quote, which was over $400 at first.  However, after he saw my shocked expression, he lowered the price to $360.  (I might add that I felt very much like he was pulling the estimate out of the air without any real process for calculating it.)  I thought the price might be a bit high still, but we agreed.
Once we agreed, he got right to work.  He reinforced the drywall seam to ensure that it was securely fastened, then he replaced the tape and re-textured about a 5-ft x 5-ft area so that it would blend.  He was meticulous and did an excellent job!  He cleaned up very well afterward.  Total time was about 2.5 hours, and it looks great!

They were able to get the job done in 2 hours and cleaned up after. The ceiling patch looked like the rest of the ceiling. They also patched up a stress crack I had in the living room on a wall. Great job!

Called drywall doctor about 9 AM. He said he was finishing another job and would be out around noon. He said he would give me a price and if I agreed he would do it immediately. He was on time, measured site about 6 x 6 ft, looked around and quoted $620 which was rather like take it or leave it. I wanted job done and did not know if pricing was fair. Pat Boyd and his girl helper finished the job in less than 2 hours. He furnished all material, did a perfect job matching the existing swirl of ceiling. He covered counters, appliances and cleaned up after job in a workman manner. He removed the trim rings around 4 recessed lights. Since the plaster had to dry it was up to me to replace rings held by springs. Somewhat annoying but I was quite capable of doing this but a lot of less handy people would have trouble. Considering the time spent and the skill level of his helper I felt the pricing was excessive.
However his quality, professionalism and clean up was excellent. Net conclusion I guess I would rather overpay and have a fine job than underpay and have quality issues.

He did a beautiful and good work.  He had an interesting setup and it was difficult to trust him first.  He goes around in the van with a couple of people.  He did a really good work.  It was strange at first with the way he operates, but does really good and quick work.  He need to have more experience.  His price is reasonable.  He came out and gave me an estimate.  When he gave me an estimate, he did the work.

Tried initially to go with two other "Handymen" because they had so many good reviews on Angie's List.  What a mistake!
If you want drywall repaired go to the professionals that only repair drywall...Call the Drywall Doctor!  Pat and Jim are the real drywall pros on Angie's List!  They came, rocked out to classic rock, had fun and fixed the ceiling like it was new.  I can't imagine anyone doing a better job regardless of price.

Patrick showed up with two guys and gave me an estimate for the two holes, one wall, stairway ceiling, and two bathrooms. After I accepted verbally, they put up two placards in my front yard that said," Another Fine Job By The Drywall Doctor". He told the guys over and over again how they should do everything. The put the requisite tarps down.(Although my frontroom became mixer central with drywall all over). The tarps over the course of the day and the second day of work became useless as they tromped up and down the stairs moving the tarps off my rugs so that they became white with drywall. As they put the stuff on the walls they literally slapped it with a roller and it went everywhere. Patrick talked me into a rounded corner on my one wall for "no extra charge" to see how nice it looked. Then He said let's do the stairwell and it's ceiling so it matches the one wall they did. I agreed that for a couple of hundred more it would look nicer, so I said yes. When they got to the top of the stairs, they said "now we have to do the ceiling of the upper landing or it will look weird". So they slapped goo all over my ceiling and light fixture. They didn't finish the bathrooms until the next day that I was available, which was one extra day in between their prior work. I was so harried that I finished the wall paper removal in the master bath so they would get done and go. When they worked they kept telling me that they would clean up totally and don't worry because the stuff is water soluable. They used my sink to clean up their tools (I had dishes in there) and ran my water all day "Not to clog the sink". That wasn't told to me until later in the day, after I had kept turning off my running water. Then when they "cleaned up" they didn't have their own stuff, they used my new vacuum, which clogged it, my broom and dust pan, still covered with drywall, and left white drywall that I am still finding splatters of all over my carpets, woodwork, clothes and various other things. I am sorry to have to say this about the company.
