I made my request for removal of three ash trees and stump grinding via email. The company is BBB A+ rated. I was very encouraged at first by professionalism and responsiveness on email.
When I came home that night after the work was complete, a tree further away from the work site was damaged. I now have 1/2 of a dwarf Japanese Maple. There were oil spots on my paver driveway and neither of my outdoor post lights worked.
The invoice was put through my mail slot but there wasn't a note or apology for the damage on the invoice.
I emailed, said the check was in the mail and I asked if there was an accident. THEN I was told was a difficult job it was: "When trees are so close to the house and at the top of busy flower beds like yours it is inevitable to have some trouble." The site was examined prior to providing a quote. The time to tell a customer this is before the job, not after.
I had just had a significantly larger tree removed from right next to the house with zero damage. The only reason I didn't have that crew do the rest of the trees is that they are so busy I didn't know how long I'd have to wait.
A shrub right next to one of the ash trees that was removed was extremely damaged, but give it's proximity that is understandable. The Japanese Maple was not close. I'm pretty sure it was because they did not control falling limbs they were cutting off.
Also in the email response I was now informed that the crew disassembled one of the outdoor post lights and they put it back together. I thanked him for the additional information about the light which will help my electrician make the repairs from the damage.
There was no response to the last email I sent. This is not what you expect from a company with an A+ rating from the BBB.
