Custom Slipcovers

Everything went just as Ruby said it would.  It was so nice having her come out and do the measuring and then take it home to make it.  I was never without my love seat, which was in contrast to every other estimate I received.  They all would have to pick up the furniture (for a fee) and I would be without it from 4-6 weeks.  Ruby does wonderful work and is pleasant and fun to be around.  I will certainly use her again!

Ruby will come out to the jobsite and take measurements.  Payment is expected upfront.  My slipcovers were then returned to the house within a month -- despite the fact that she was incredibly busy for the holidays.  Incredibly professional.

I was very pleased with the results. The cushions turned out beautifully and Mrs. Dukes completed the project very quickly. The turn around time was a week.

Mrs. Dukes helped me know how much fabrice would be needed via phone and then she came to pick it up and look at the bed. I needed a custom dust skirt because of the 25" drop.
She did a beautiful job so that the skirt was full and fit exactly around the posts and she both picked up and delivered the product.  Even with the cost of the fabric the entire skirt cost was $300. a real bargain in comparison to one I had made through a decorator in past years.

I knew that this would be a very difficult job. I had previously tried to used a SureFit recliner cover that was anything but a sure fit and one day just gave up stretching and tucking it. The reviews I read of Mrs. Duke's work were all excellent, so I set an appointment to meet her. She came to my home with pictures of previous work and looked at the chair. She told me how much fabric I would need to buy. When I managed to find the cloth I wanted, we made a second appointment. She was here several hours custom fitting the chair. Her attention to detail is quite something. She then made the cover at her home and we made another appointment (shorter) for her to bring it buy. It was everything I wanted, complete with self piping and similar to several other slip covers I had in my home (a request I made when she was here the second time). I couldn't be happier. I plan to have her make more covers in the future. Again, I knew this was a hard job, but when I asked her, she said now that she has worked out how to make the recliner cover, she wouldn't mind doing it again. Note: Her business is also called Sew Unique.

The project took approximately six weeks. Mrs. Dukes worked with fabric I purchased at Jo Ann's Fabrics (29 yards purchased during one of Jo Ann Fabrics 1/2 price sales. The cost of the fabric was approximately $660.00, a separate amount from the $915.00 she charged for her services). Mrs. Dukes told me how much fabric I was going to need. Mrs. Dukes came out and spent the better part of a day taking the necessary measurements. Six weeks later she came back with her husband and fitted the slipcovers, recovered the occasional pillows and re-hung the valance. She was very professional and I am very pleased with her work.

This woman is amazing! The slip covers fit so perfectly that most people think I had the furniture reupholstered. Mrs. Dukes comes to the house and cuts out the fabric at that time -- then she returns home to do the sewing, and comes back a week or so later to fit the finished slipcovers on the furniture. She was always punctual, courteous, and professional and she is truly an artist in her work. I had a deadline for getting this furniture re-done -- she worked with me on that, and had everything completed ahead of time.

Ruby Dukes told me how many yards of fabric to purchase as well as better choices for overall appearance. She came to my home and cut and measured for slipcovers and then returned with finished product on the day we agreed upon.

RUBY WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. SHE ARRIVED ON TIME, TOOK MEASUREMENTS, PROMISED TO COMPLETE THE JOB IN A VERY REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. SHE DELIVERED AND INSTALLED THE SLIPCOVERS ON TIME. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL, A PERFECT FIT AND LOOK MORE LIKE UPHOLSTERY THAN SLIPCOVERS. I HAVE HAD THIS TYPE OF WORK DONE BEFORE AND THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST WORK I'VE EVER SEEN. SHE IS VERY PLEASANT AND A NICE PERSON TO WORK WITH. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER.
