Terrible and expensive. To remove raccoons from inside an attic they placed a trap on the roof. ??? After never catching anything they charged additional fees to close the opening the animal had made, tried to convince me to change all the insulation in my attic for another $7000, and claimed the job was done. Raccoons are still in the attic and I’m now doing the job myself. When I called their office to report what happened the person said that’s the “nature of wildlife” and tried to charge me again. I told her, several times, that I would not pay them anymore money, but they showed up and set traps again without my consent. I had to call again and tell them I was not paying anything more to them. Nearly $500 for nothing. Avoid!
Response from Critter Control of Dayton

"All fees were discussed and approved in writing prior to services rendered or repairs completed. You paid our company a service call fee for consult, inspection and for trapping. Aside from that, you approved our company to complete a repair from where the animal had damaged the home. The repair site is warrantied, but if wildlife returns and damages your home in another area, we do charge for those repairs as well. Wildlife is unpredictable and we do our best to verify activity has ceased from the home before doing any repairs. There are times that raccoons will depart the premises and return at a later date - hence, the "nature of wildlife." We are not responsible for repairs needed at your home and do charge to make repairs caused by wildlife. We will gladly return to conduct a grace period trapping without assessing the service fee again. However, as per our contract, there are removal fees per animal and repairs are the responsibility of the customer to complete or to pay our company if you elect to do so. The important aspect to remember is we have no hidden fees. All of the information mentioned above is outlined in your service agreement."

The raccoons were located in a rear corner of the attic and the entry hole was located. The trap was set on a flat portion of my roof. The technician was very careful to place protective materials under the trap and secured the trap to the house. The mother raccoon was trapped that evening and the next morning I called and the technician who came out promptly and caught the youngsters with a catch pole and placed all in crates and transferred them to his truck.
He was polite and professional, and treated the and quot;critters' humanely.

The technician would not change locations of the trap and kept catching and quot;innocentand quot; gray squirrels for release. Obviously not solving the problem..also the trap sprung itself and he called it tampering. After the second attempt he packed up his cage and left along with a curt note. I would never use or recomment them again.

IThe serviceman was exceptional: well informed about all bee type insects and their habits and a meticulous worker. I was very impressed with the work. It was more expensive than previous services of this kind that I had used in the past, but I would use them again because their results were excellent.

Tim was helpful - did a complete inspection of the attic - determined we had mice and offered a full range of services. He didn't push any of them. We selected the options Tim indicated would be most useful. Work was done quickly. There is no follow up included. If you want them to come back - you pay for it. I think the prices are kind of high - but the work done did get rid of the mice.

I FELT THAT THEY WERE PRETTY EXPENSIVE, BUT I GUESS IT WAS WORTH IT. I HAD TO GET RID OF THE RACCOON, SO THERE WAS NO CHOICE. THEY MADE IT TO MY PLACE RIGHT AWAY. THEY PUT A ROPE AROUND IT'S NECK AND FEET, PUT IT IN A CAGE, AND HAULED IT OFF.
