CENTERVILLE LANDSCAPING INC

Scheduled the work back in December. Had to chase them down to start come spring. The job never got completed, chased them around for two more months, and got several excuses why they couldn't come back out to complete work. The wrong size shrubs were planted and planted in wrong spot, 3 beds never got proper work done. Weeds came back in beds three weeks later. Verbally talking with Tim the ideas seem great but the execution was poor. I expected better service for the price.

Overall it was pretty good, at times I felt like the job supervisor. Poor rock removal and seeding once job was done, I had to call them back out to complete the job. Good thing was that they honor their work and came back to fix any issues. System runs fine.

Great job! They also adjusted the date after I already scheduled an appointment, but had to change. Always do a great job.

They showed up on time, were very professional and got the work done quickly.  We were very pleased with their work and would definitely hire them again in the future if we have further need for their services.

Provider was to perform services on 6/3/14 but did not show up. They stated they showed up and rang door bell but I was home all day and did not hear doorbell. I asked why they did not knock or call me to verify if I was home or not. Garage door was open and car was ini garage so it should have been apparent that I was home. Had to reschedule. The provider could improve service by calling to confirm appointment the day prior advising of approximate time they will perform the service on the scheduled day and call when they are on their way to the appointment. Under their current method of operation, the customer has to wait at home all day not knowing when or if they are coming.

I was a little nervous when I received the initial estimate. It was 75% of the cost of the two other irrigation estimates we already received. I was worried about the "you get what you pay for" law. That was not the case! His team was extremely competent and punctual. Additionally, when the other landscaper moved up their timeline by three weeks, JC's team adjusted their schedule and worked late evenings to ensure our sprinkler system was ready to go. They saved our sod from drying out! Furthermore, (without additional charge) they went above and beyond by adjusting sprinkler heads to compensate for other contractor miscalculations. While building our home, we have worked with many contractors. The centerville landscape team was one of the best!! I highly recommend them!!!! 

On Day One when the Centerville Landscaping worker came out with a backhoe to remove our existing sidewalk and front porch, it was almost like watching a comedy routine. . During that seemingly simple process he managed to cut an electrical line that was costly to repair. The shortened  line had to be threaded through our exterior brick by our electrician and into the garage to avoid a connection under the front porch pavers. 

Then, the worker swung the backhoe into our outdoor light fixture, smashing it to the ground, glass and metal everywhere, and ruining an established perennial garden bed there.  It was while doing this he also chipped a couple of good size holes in our existing foundation. Very noticeable as our home is a quad level.

The destruction was unbelievable for a supposedly professional company, in fact, it seemed they had hired some 12 year old kid to handle the job. 



I have nothing against Mexican workers, but I  appreciate if they speak English while running a job for me. CL had an abundance of these laborers that we had not seen during our 2009 project.

The icing on the cake was when we later hired Essential Landscaping to put in our irrigation system. This is when we learned even though [per contract] we had paid CL for a conduit system to go in under our new driveway to run water lines through, CL had skipped that part. We believe they knowingly did this to save themselves money, as they [CL] had previously given us an inflated price for an irrigation system.

Tom Shields, now president [who will do anything to save a buck], of Centerville Landscaping, would only refund us 1/2 the cost of the conduit placement, so we only got  back  $300.00 yet paid out $600.00 for conduits to be put in by Essential. Unfortunately this left Essential having to lift off sections of newly paved driveway, which we had planned to avoid.

CL had also done a very large backyard project for us in 2009, that also had to be micromanaged and required taking time off work each day to make sure the job was done right.  

If you decide to use them,, keep in mind a 6 weeks project may take 3-4 months, [sure ruined our summer of 2009, and a two week project may take 6 weeks, as with our front paver project. That has been our experience with them.

 The previous owner, Jim Teske,  was ethical and fair-minded, he made sure that in the end the customer was happy with the outcome. But since he set up shop elsewhere I do not believe you will get the same fair shake from Tom Shields if you decide to hire this company.  

The serviceman was punctual - came within the window of time promised. He got everything ready, and as far as I can tell, got everything to work just fine. It seems a bit expensive, but to be honest, I don't have anything to compare it to. The only other negative thing was that the worker was smoking while he did the job. It was a job done completely outside, aside from accessing the box in our garage. But, I just felt it wasn't very professional.We'll likely use them again because the previous owners have always used them, and they know the yard and the system.

Very easy... coordinated on phone, got estimate, they did it while I was at work and billed me. Good deal.

I have been using them for about 10 years.  The last time they were here was to turn the sprinkler system on.  They put in a very good product 10 years ago works fine.  I have only had to replace a couple heads, one due to me hitting it with a lawn mower.  They come out twice a year to turn the system on and off. 

Centerville Landscaping provided professional plans and an a la carte option to choose the items we wanted to complete at this time. The work was done in a timely manner, and greatly improved the curb appeal of our home. I would highly recommend Centerville Landscaping.

THEIR PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE FOR AS MUCH WORK AS THEY DID. THEY DIDN'T TEAR UP MY LAWN VERY MUCH. THEIR QUALITY OF WORK WAS VERY GOOD. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE WORK THEY DID.
