Have used them in the past. We found that 1 Buckeye technician there was willing to troubleshoot difficult issues. Chris (manager/scheduler) has always been evasive on timing and out of touch with the business - lacks specifics of any kind. The technician who delivered a prior successful repair also commented that he was under pressure to wrap work quickly and he would get in trouble for taking the time to solve the issue during the successful repair. (To his credit, it was an obstruction in the main drain; not easy to find.) This time, we requested the same technician and after repeated follow-up the technician visited. The feedback (upon our again calling) was that they weren't interested in doing any of the work because the valve repair was too complicated disregarding all other work requested too. A plumber repaired the PVC valve in 15 minutes of total elapsed time including parking the van. Granted the pool is old which intimidates some pool company technicians. In general, they seem to be seeking new pool work or work on very new pools that goes quickly and without thinking.
Description of Work: Repair a valve. Check Hayward sand filter.

Couldn't get him to give me a solid date of when he'd come for the estimate. (We wanted to be here when he came to discuss it with him.) Summer ended, no estimate, but discussion about calling in the spring. We called in the spring of 13 to get a date for an estimate. Wasn't able to give a solid date to come for the estimate, nor a date when the work could begin. We continued to talk throughout the spring and into the early summer. By the time June was ending we were told that there was no way to give an estimate for the work; it would just be based on what he found when he started to work on it. Also were told there was no way he could give us a solid date for starting because it was his busy season. (BTW, he never did come to see our pool!) By the time July rolled around, we called another company who came out the next day and gave a solid estimate plus start day within a week of the estimate. We would have liked to use Buckeye since they built the pool and it was clearly a good job of building about 20 years ago. Just couldn't afford to keep waiting and filling our pool every day.
Description of Work: We called spring of 2012 to get a quote on fixing some hairline cracks in an in ground pool they originally installed. The bottom is concrete (which is where the cracks developed) with a hard liner around all walls. The pool held up well over the years. We also wanted an estimate on painting the bottom after crack repair.

Their customer service sucks. The pool is nice, they did a great job on the pool. It's the water, the chlorine and the pH. They can't seem to balance. I want to open it but I can't get the health inspector to approve it until they're passed and so far I've gotten nowhere with them. It's just been a disaster for the last month. For what they did and the very high quality the price was good. The follow-up is bad.
Description of Work: I've used Buckeye Pools for pool sales. They've been trying to fix my new pool for months.

Recently repairs and maintenance have gotten very expensive. Sometimes it takes several tries to get it right. Overall the work is satisfactory.
Description of Work: Buckeye Pools built our pool a few yrs ago and did a great job. We use them to open and close the pool and for any problems during the summer pool season. We needed a new pump just weeks after opening the pool this year. It was expensive and we were told to expect to replace the pump annually from now on.

They had done a fine job. The quality of work was excellent, and I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: They replaced our pool filter and added a salt system.
