I purchased 2 trees at the Middletown Berns and had a wonderful experience ? great people with great advice. Because I live in Dayton, the Beavercreek Berns location was responsible for the delivery and for planting one of the trees (services costing $150.00). I wanted to be home when the tree was planted, so I called the Beavercreek location on Wednesday, the day before delivery was scheduled. I spoke with Don in nursery, who said he would talk to the crew when they arrived in the morning to get a very general idea of when they would likely be at my house and said he would have them call my cell 35-40 minutes before they headed to my house. Don said to call him back in the morning after 9:15AM and he would have a better idea (morning or afternoon) of delivery. When I asked, Don confirmed they would not be at my house until after 9:15AM.
When I called Thursday morning at 9:15, I was told Don wasn?t scheduled to come in until 12:30PM. Strike One. When I spoke to someone else in nursery delivery, I was told they had already been to my house and the tree was already planted. Strike Two. When I asked where the second tree was left, it was left sitting in its container on my driveway with its $149 price tag available for anyone to take (instead of being in my back yard behind my fence). Strike Three.
I will continue to patronize the Middletown Berns location, but I am finished with the Beavercreek location. Gardening is my hobby and brings me much enjoyment, so it doesn?t make sense to patronize a business that does not respect a simple customer request, especially when I paid $150.00 for that service.
