I obtained three quotes, which were all similar in price. However, the person from 3n1, Art, came across as very sincere and honest. He stated that some work that I had requested after initial consulting would be added with no cost. I decided to go with 3n1. They arrived, and I reviewed the work that I wanted done with Stu, the owner. He actually agreed to remove a couple of dead branches from one of the trees that I had not requested on the original quote with no additional cost. The owner Stu actually performed all the trimming. The work was done very professionally and completed in a very reasonable time. The crew was very friendly and cleaned up all debris. I had used a another tree trimming service for several years before this, but decided to change to someone else. I am very glad I did. I will not hesitate to use 3n1 for any future tree issues.

Called to make sure we remembered appointment. Called before coming. Came early after calling to let us know they could. The actual removal was a picture of efficiency and cooperation. It took around 40 minutes start to finish and we did not see anyone standing around, in fact everyone was pretty much in motion all the time. The tree was felled into the street where it would have blocked the road except the top branches were immediately removed and shredded (in a couple of minutes). The remaining parts were likewise dispatched to the shredder or, as with the larger pieces, to the dump truck. Next came the grinding of the stump and clean up as they went. All debris was blown or raked into piles and picked up. The stump 'hole' was filled in with top soil and raked. VERY NICE JOB!

Excellent! The estimator met me within an hour because the remaining part of the tree was vulnerable to fall on the house. Stew and his team worked overtime to get it done in 2 days!!

In every way the team performed excellent work, again. I was impressed with the skillful teamwork, with owner in the trees, while his team collected limbs on the ground, cut them up and hauled things to the truck and the shredder. When they were done the yard was clean and the stump areas were covered with top soil, ready for planting or sodding grass.

Excellent work. All honey suckle bushes and the saplings were cut down and removed, with stumps being ground to below ground. All wood, brush, and significant chips were removed. (Cost given includes tax.)

Excellent work. After cutting down the tree, cutting it into pieces and removing it, then grinding the stump just below ground, the whole area was racked clean. Then top soil was spread over the area where the tree had stood. It was ready for me to seed the area for grass or lay sod. (Cost given in this review includes tax.)

We've hired the 3n1 team a couple times in the past year or so and have always been impressed by their professionalism, thoroughness, friendliness, and hard work. This time was no exception. The trees were in a fenced area with the only access through a four-foot gate off our driveway (which is where they parked their chipper/shredder). The cedar was within 35 feet of the gate; but the ash was a good 100 feet from the gate. Because of heavy rains the past couple of days, the ground was pretty soggy. The 3n1 guys put down heavy-duty mats to protect the lawn and minimize any damage. They made short work of the cedar, but had to move our heavy cement birdbath and very heavy cement bench before they could fell the ash. Then they had to haul, cart, and/or carry all the debris all the way to the front gate. They then cleaned up virtually all of the debris/wood chips from the backyard swept up those in the driveway. All-in-all, it only took this well-coordinated six-man team about two hours from arrival to departure. We will surely hire 3n1 Tree Service again if the need arises. I highly recommend these folks!

damaged honesuckle tree during removal but they were on time, quick, reasonable and actually showed up, which we all know doesn't always happen.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review. Thank you for being flexible with our schedule, for the project ran into a second day. Removals that require climbing/roping can be very tricky and there is a higher likelihood of collateral damage to other trees and bushes. The reason behind this is that a climber is limited by not being able to climb all the way to the top of the tree or to the outer branches on the side canopy because they are too small to support a climber's weight. Because of this, larger pieces are often removed at once with not as much control of those pieces (relative to bucket truck operations). We have three bucket trucks in our company, but we didn't have access to this tree. Thank you for using our company's services. Stu Moats, Owner"

Stu and his team did a tremendous amount of work as part of the 8 hour (daily rate) contract. They took care of all the dead trees on our wooded property, and cut down more trees than I expected. The amount of work for the price seemed very fair. Stu was definitely the hardest worker of the bunch, and was very honest and professional. I'd certainly work with 3n1 again.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review. Daily rate contracts are always tricky; in fact, we've stopped offering them because I'm not convinced it ends up being fair for all involved. I lean towards a defined scope of work with individual pricing for tree work. Thank you for being flexible with our company. V/R, Stu Moats, Owner"

I used 3n1 back in December (see my earlier review) and they did a great job. So, I was confident that I'd get the same great service with our newest tree issue. I contacted them on April 9th and the estimator/Art came by that same afternoon. Very helpful & knowledgeable, as before. Got on their schedule for April 20th. They arrived on time--after having to "navigate" a long, narrow, gravel lane at the rear of our property with their large truck & chipper. They set right to work and had the cedar and large debris pile disposed of in less than an hour--including clean-up of the area. I was very pleased back in December--and I'm equally pleased with their work this time, as well. This is my go-to company for any future tree work that I need done. They're the best!! (And, I've used several others in the past.) The fact that it is a veteran-owned business is also a big plus.

"Thank you for the review and being a repeat customer of ours. I began this company with a long-term goal of establishing trusting and lasting relationships with my customer base and the community. There are too many in my industry that have very short-term goals that revolve around making a quick dollar and running. I try to be fair to all involved and I'm glad to hear that our customers experience and see it. Thanks again, Stu Moats, Owner"

3n1 Tree Service did an outstanding job cleaning out overgrown brush, dead trees and very aggressive honeysuckle in a wooded area behind my home and around my pond. They also ground the stumps and raked the areas and did some minor pruning that was needed on a large river birch in front of my home. From my first call to schedule the appointment for a quote with the office manager Amber, to Art who provided the initial quote, to the hardworking guys clearing the area, and to Stu the owner that was on site and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction, I was impressed with the work ethic, customer service and attention to detail by each and every one. That is a rarity to find! They were thorough, professional, and did a great job cleaning up the areas so there was no unwanted debris remaining. And they did so as the rain turned to snow and daylight turned to darkness. And on a Friday evening no less! So many businesses would have wrapped up early and rescheduled to finish the job another day. Timely, responsive service and very reasonable pricing. I highly recommend Stu and his 3n1 Tree Service team.

Art, the person who performed the quote for my project was very helpful and professional. Amber and Melonee were also very responsive and kind. Payment process was pleasant and fair. I quoted with 4 other "A" reputable businesses in the area and 3n1's price was the best and extremely fair. The one place where they have some room for improvement is in providing better transparency as to when the work would actually be performed. As soon as I gave them my approval to begin, their worker showed up on a random day -- didn't finish all the way (I had a big project!), and then returned on another random day to finish. The only way we knew it was probably finished was from walking around and inspecting it for ourselves and assuming it was done because a few weeks went by and nobody returned or called to let us know. So as long as you call them to check on things, they are responsive and answer your questions fairly quickly and with a good attitude. I would hire them again.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review. Once in awhile, we ask customers if they can be flexible with our performance of the project. We call these projects "floater jobs" and we fit them in around our normal schedule. This allows us to get to come customers projects quicker than if they get pushed to the end of our open schedule. We should have communicated our schedule and work better with you and I apologize for that. Thank you for hiring us. V/R, Stu Moats, Owner"

We contacted 3N1 Tree Service in mid-November (after a local Miamisburg company failed to respond to my request for service and a Dayton company gave us an exorbitant estimate). The 3N1 estimator came out that same afternoon and gave us an estimate nearly $800 less (one-third less) of the Dayton company's. We had reluctantly opted to have a large Ponderosa pine (40 ft), a Hawthorne tree (35 ft), and a gnarly weeping crabapple tree removed. All were nearly 50 years old and had been going downhill for the last 4-5 years. We also had a large blue spruce (60 ft) "topped"--as the top eight feet or so were dead. Also had our large American sweetgum tree trimmed of some dead limbs. The estimator gave me a copy of their liability insurance and a copy of their Worker' Comp certificate. I called their main office later that day and got on their schedule. Took about three weeks, but the wait was worth it. The crew of four showed up on time and had all of the work completed in less than three hours--including clean-up (despite sub-freezing temps and blowing snow). They were all friendly, courteous, and professional. We have a very large ash tree (70 ft) near the back of our yard that'll have to come down in the next year or so. Will definitely use 3N1 Tree Service to do the job.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review. I'm glad you had a great experience with our company and that the pricing was fair. We normally give a 10% discount in our off-season in order to keep my main guys employed over the Winter months; this can lead to some great deals for my customers. The sub-freezing temps and blowing snow made things more interesting than I'd like, but various weather conditions are to be expected in our line of work. Thanks again, Stu Moats, Owner"

Great communication, lowest quote by far. Very professional and quick work despite a tricky location. Did a great job with cleanup. Also appreciate the business model on their website. Would highly recommend and definitely use for future needs.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review. I remember this removal very well; and yes, you did get a great deal on this removal considering all the complexities involved. To be honest, we probably "missed" a little bit on the pricing because of the complexities, but we will never upcharge a client. We have priced things a little too low several times throughout our history, but I'd rather take a loss on a project than to upcharge or walk away from an agreed upon project. We are normally priced at what I'd call "market pricing", but sometimes the clients can get a great deal. Thank you again, Stu Moats, Owner"

A crew showed up on time, performed the pruning, ground up the branches on site and were in and out of here quickly, only a couple of hours. They do what they say they'll do, when agreed upon. The price was a little high, but received Angie's List discount and a cash payment discount which helped a lot. I've used 3 N One a couple of times now, and both times were excellent.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review...and using our services several times. I realize we are not always the lowest price company, but I'm very comfortable saying that the value we provide is unmatched. Pricing can vary drastically among companies depending on their overhead and pricing models. I caution my clients to shop around among established competitors. Thanks again, Stu Moats, Owner"

They are a terrific service. I had them over here twice. They cut my tree down; it was a very large tree. They gave me a discount because I had used them earlier in the summer from the year before. They were super. They came out, they had seven guys and the tree was huge, it was about 140 feet high and about four-foot diameter. It was a large tree. Because of the snow we had, they couldn't finish cleaning up that day and they worked here almost 12 hours. They came a couple of days later and finished blowing all of the saw dust. I was exceptionally pleased with them. I did have an estimate, and their price was the most reasonable compared to others. I had one other estimate and the gave me over $6,000 to take the tree down. They gave me a $400 or -$500 discount because I used them last summer. I definitely will use them again.
Response from 3n1 Tree Service

"Thank you for the review. That was one of the larger ash trees in the area. I'm glad it came down without issue. Thanks again, Stu Owner"
