Wr Given Construction

He signed the contract with my mom on Dec 20th and they started the work on Jan 4th. They were there for like 3 days. I put down a deposit of $1500, which I haven’t got back. This guy showed up when we had All American. We called All American to come out and give us a quote and this guy Wayne Givens was the salesman for them. He spent few hours in my house surveying the job and he gave us a quote, so I told him we’ll think about it and let him know. He called us back a week later, and told my mom that he originally quoted $8000 and he can go the same job for $5000. He also told her to put a $1500 deposit and asked for a $200 monthly payment, since my mom didn’t have the money to do the whole job, and she couldn’t pay the entire amount then and there. My mom gave the $1500 deposit check on Dec 20th, he was supposed were supposed to start the work on 27th, but he never showed up. He was hard to get a hold of and he never returned calls. It wasn’t until Jan 4th that the crew finally showed up and started to do the work. They got most of the work done; they were ready to concrete over everything and finish the job, but they stopped and said they were going to come back on Monday. I came to my mom’s house that weekend and look at what they had done and it wasn’t what they were supposed to do. They were supposed to tear out the old system that was there previously, and which was failing and replace that, but they didn’t do it. They left the furnished drain into the foundation and they didn’t have it running into a pipe, so all the water was seeping right in to the ground of the basement. They also didn’t put a new sump or crock in like they were supposed to, so I called Wayne, but he wasn’t returning my calls in-spite of me leaving messages and this went on for a while. Finally I called All American because I thought that’s who I was dealing with and when I spoke with Mike john, he told me that he didn’t know who I was. When I asked him if Wayne givens worked for him, he told me that Wayne givens was fired on Dec 20th, and then I realized that Wayne is got something shady going on here, and when he wasn’t returning my calls I started doubting whether his company was legit or whether his warranty was worth anything at all. He hadn’t even done the job properly so far and he’s wasn’t returning my calls. It was a mess, so I was supposed to go to court this Monday morning and see if I can get our money back. My mom signed a contract with his name on the top, thinking it was All American and didn’t realize it was WR givens Construction Company on top of the contract. I would rate them all the way down and I wouldn’t recommend or use them again in the future.

I paid him for all the work, however, he did not pay the siding company, Pence Brothers Siding. They did the work, but he did not pay them a nickle which resulted in them putting a mechanics lein on my property. I had the lein removed by going to a Real Estate Attorney. It was placed illegally on my property. I did not deal with them, I work with Wayne Given. He is the one that contracted with them. His drywall work was so bad it was bowed outward where he took out the windows. I had to then hire a drywall guy to fix his mistake whick cost me an additional $400.00 that I had already paid him to do the work. The man door he installed was not installed properly so I had to have a person come out and redo this also. He was very unreliable. He would say he would be here at a certain time, but not show up or call. This happened several times. Also, he would be working during the day and say he needed to leave to pick up materials, but would be return. He would not return or call. I was very dissatified with Mr. Given and I would not use him again and recommend no one use him.
