The gentleman who called on me seemed more interested in further selling insulation than evaluating the advertised '$99 for Attic Inspection of Insulation, Ventilation, Exhaust Fan, Rodent Activity, Water Damage and More + Report!' For starters, I have blown-in insulation and he came to my house wearing dress shoes and then walking briefly in my attic with nothing covering his shoes. The information he provided was not very useful to me. Looked more like a set-up for more sales rather than a thorough analysis.

We have a large house. To inspect the entire crawl space in the attic you either need to crawl up and over a middle section or go up a ladder in two different places to access the space. He did not bother to go into the second space. He recommmended that we replace the existing peak vent with a different peak vent at considerable cost. After I did some research into peak vent flow rates, it turned out what he was recommending had the same flow rates as what was up there already. I concluded that either he did not know what he was talking about or he was deliberately trying to sell something even though it was no better than what we already had up there. That plus the fact that he did not bother to get into the other half of the crawl spce to see whether there were other problems made me decide this was not the company for us. We never used them
Description of Work: person came and went up into crawl space of attic to inspect. He only inspected less than half of the total space. He made recommendations which I felt were erroneous. See bleow.

He was pleasant and knowledgeable, and I would definitely include him on a bid list if I decide to have attic work done, but I may or may not have received $99 worth of value.
Description of Work: He stood up in the attic access hatch and examined the general state of the underside of the roof and the ventilation, or lack thereof, in my attic. He did not go beyond the hatch to inspect all of the roof, though that would have been difficult because of the blown-in fiberglass insulation. His report was definitely helpful, and he explained his recommendations well, but in many ways it was basically an estimate for purchase of services. Many companies do not charge for estimates.

He returned my calls quickly and we set up a time to my convenience. When he arrived, he asked me questions first regarding any items I felt he needed to pay close attention to. I explained how I had a roof leak, and was concerned about water damage and possible insect damage. I also needed him to check the general condition of the attic over the garage and in the main house so I could be more confident when I got quotes to replace the roof. He was very professional, thorough and completed the inspection within a reasonable time. I would recommend his services to others before they get roof quotes.
Description of Work: I requested an attic and insulation inspection prior to getting quotes for a new roof.

I feel this was a complete waste for money for the "DEAL" as it was stated on Angie's list. When i contacted Northeast Insulation asking how they could be advising me who to contact to have the "hole" in my roof fixed if they had not even gone up on a ladder to see if there was a hole in the roof, I was only advised again to have the "hole" repaired. When I asked about the chimney inspection I was told there was no place in the attic to access the chimney, which i would guess is because the CHIMNEY IS ON THE ROOF. I was again advised to have the "hole" that I know now did not even exist repaired. What a waste of money.
Description of Work: $99 "DEAL" was for attic inspection, ventillation etc,.................including inspection for "SQUIRREL, RACCOON AND RODENT DAMAGE....AND CHECK CHIMNEY FLASHING FOR LEAKS" as well "RODENT AND PEST INTRUSIONS" Service Northeast Insulation provided simply a "visual" inside only walk through to tell me if they saw any signs of droppings etc. which is something I could do myself. As this deal included "CHECK CHIMNEY FLASHING FOR LEAKS" , my expectation was that there would be an inspection on the roof as every definition of chimney flashing i have ever found clearly states that chimney flashing is used OUTSIDE on roofs around the chimney. I was told that there would be no inspection on the roof other than the rep from Northeast Insulation standing outside the house on the grould looking at the loose shingle I pointed out to him and him then advising me to have the "hole in my roof repaired" When I later hired a Wildlife inspector,(who went up on the roof) i was told there was no hole in the roof though the shingle was loose. Northeast Insulation Service "DEAL" was clearly misrepresented in my opinion, though I was given a review of our insulation and ventilation, the inspection for SQUIRREL, RACCOON AND RODENT DAMAGE.....rodent & pest instrusions (I was told there were no signs of intrusion in the attic even though I was advised to "have the hole in my roof repaired") AS WELL AS CHIMNEY FLASHING INSPECTION WITHOUT GOING UP ON THE ROOF was misrepresented in my opinion. This $99.00 inspection was a complete waste of money for me. I am SORRY SORRY SORRY I paid for this and if anyone is interested only in an opinon on their insulation and wants to pay $99 for it maybe this makes sense........but the way the deal is stated to include anything worth paying for for rodent, pest damage or chimney flashing inspection is nothing that you can't do yourself by looking in your attic to see if you see a "pest" or standing on the ground for that view of your chimney flashing.

We purchased the Attic Inspection Voucher for $99.00 as we wanted to have our attic professionally inspected for water, mold, & pest/vermin infestation. We had a roof leak over the past couple years which was replaced last July. We were concerned about the condition of the attic so we purchased this inspection voucher. Sean was prompt for our appointment. He was pleasant and professional. He was in our attic about 15-20 minutes so we hope he did a thorough inspection. Most of the time he spent with us was giving us an estimate for insulation and roof venting. As we have not obtained other estimates for this work we cannot offer a comment on how his prices compare to other companies. We must have overlooked the fine print as I was unaware his intent was to provide us with this estimate. As long as his inspection was thorough it was worth the $99 for peace of mind knowing we have no water, mold or pest issues in our attic. If the inspection was not thorough we paid $99 for an estimate we could have received free from other insulation/venting companies. We are not prepared to invest money in the attic at this time but will keep Sean's estimate on hand.

Was having some ventilation problems in our attic since we replaced our roof. Saw the Angie's big deal for an "Attic Inspection and Audit" for $100 (a $499 value) so I figured that would help me get to the root of the issue. After a couple of sccheduling issues, Sean was able to come out and look at the attic. I felt his recommendations were on target and he gave me quotes to repair the problems. My only regret is that I paid someone that others would have done for free (basically I got a free estimate for $100), but like I said it got me pointed in the right direction so I am greatful and Sean was very knowledgeable and friendly. The second part was that I saw another Angie's Deall for Soffit Vents for $500 (a $1000 value). This was one of Sean recommendations and it was half the price he originally quoted so I jumped at the chance. His tech came out as scheduled. Completed the work and I didn't even know he was there - work was complete, clean up was perfect. Overall a good experience.

He came and looked at the attic. He said that he would get the report to me. On March 14th, he sent a letter in the US Mail to furnish and install the following insulation. His job totalled $12,500.00 but with a $500 discount for Angie's List Members. That's all I got from him....a one page of what he would do for insulation and roof. Since that time, on March 21st, he sent an email saying there would be a 12% increase on the price of insulation starting April 1st. He sent another email on April 2nd saying to have the contract signed by March 30th to avoid that price increase. I emailed him on April 1st asking for the report which he never responded to, but he did send me the emails about the prices going up. It's fraud to say that you're going to provide a service and then not provide it. The coupon states what is to be delivered, the company did not do what the coupon states that was in the coupon.

A report was sent. The entire attic and truss system was filled with black mold, which is reason for quote amount, which included a new roof deck and shingles. Insulation, shingles, and plywood did have aprice increase in April 2012. We did NOT do any work on this house. hopefully the 99.00 inspection was worth the money to find the mold in her attic in time so it does not spread inside house causing more damage than is already present.

I purchased an Angie's List big deal for installation of insulation for our attic. Sean contacted us the same day as our coupon processed and scheduled an inspection of our attic. He arrived on time and quickly surveyed our attic. We set up a date for the installation of the insulation. His crew arrived on time and quickly set up. Sean arrived during the job and confirmed that everything was proceeding as promised. At this time I also asked him if they did soffit vent installation and we quickly agreed on a follow up job to install a soffit vent for the entire house. The soffit job required two visits, each time Sean checked with me to ensure the job was performed to our agreement and to make sure I was happy with the work performed. Both crews cleaned up the job site, were courteous and were prompt with their schedules. I would not hesitate to use this company again and appreciate the level of communication. No complaints at all.

To start, the guys were late, but that really wasn't their fault (everyone gets lost coming here), & the warehouse/supplier loaded them with the wrong product, so they had to go all the way back to correct it. That wasn't the installers' fault either, but it should still be noted. However, they stayed until the job was done, saw to every little detail, & did all without complaint. They were very polite, thorough, & professional. I had to press them to stop for a lunch/water break, & they wasted no time, hauling huge bags of insulation up three flights of stairs. Sean was quite cordial when he came out for the original estimate, and very generous regarding the price and discounts. We are very pleased with their work, and will definitely call on them if future work is needed.

Weather and equipment meant several reschedules. It would have been nice, since they had my cell number, if they would have called me the second time rather than send me an email. Description of Work: We had our attic insulated. Unfortunately, the estimate was not very detailed or clear and when we signed up to do one option and they actually came to do it, we were billed more than we had anticipated. We spoke to the company owner and paid him promptly, but he seemed to think it was our fault, not his for not adding lines together or providing written details of what each option contained. Customer purchased a big deal for $149 worth of blown insulation(A $500 value) When I inspected attic area to install, there was other insulation that should have been done also, which I quoted. The elected NOT to buy other insulation work and only had work done that was included in big deal. The owner did not pay an additional dime and certainly NOT $1,000 as stated. This was a complete fabrication of the facts.

We purchased the Angie's list deal of $250 for $600 of blown-in insulation. Sean was responsive and came to the house to check it out. We wanted to address a lot of cold air inflow was coming from an attic space on the 2nd floor of our home. They ended up adding some insulation and vapor barriers in the attic space, and we also paid another $200 to add some insulation in our basement where Sean thought there was a need. Overall very professional and helpful looking at lots of spaces across our house to opine on what would be most beneficial to us. We have noticed a big difference on the 2nd floor - it's a lot warmer up there.

I thought everything went okay but I am not noticing any difference in my house. It seemed like it cost an awful lot not to make a difference. I don't know if I would recommend them. I had some issues that they were supposed to address and I don't know if it worked. The price was high. I am disabled and can’t get up in the attic to see what they did. He was very responsive and replied as soon as I contacted him. He had two workers but he never came and looked at the job afterwards. They were late in coming and then they had to stay after dark to finish the job. I don’t think I would use them again.

The main issues were ducts not insulated and poor insulation installed in attic floor. We wrapped all ducts and installed blown in insulation in entire attic. The $2,100 price was more than fair. All issues the owner brought up were addressed. I was on site and in the attic the day we were working and inspected all our work!! The workers did need to stay late to finish the job which sometimes happens, I was glad to get this job done in one day and not inconvenience the owner another day. there was a never a phone call or concern made by owner!

any and no one responded. I waited about a week and left a message on voice mail of the company. The representative was very attendative in trying to get my business but not when corrections needed to be made. I am still waiting for the plug hole to be repaired and for the technicians to pick up cooler they left behind also.
Description of Work: I requested the service because I was interested in having the floor of an addition insulated because it is extremely cold in winter. I was charged more because it was a floor and I ended having the walls insulalted also. The technicians were a little late which was ok. they were prefessional, review areas of work and what would be done. They spend hours on the walls and about an hour on the floor. We have not had a normal winter yet so an assessment of the value of having addition insulated is not possible yet. My dissatisfaction is with the quality of outside work. The snow melted within 1 to 2 days and insulation material was on the ground around the house and a plug came apparently came out a few days later. I emailed the comp

The owner called about one plug that came out of the wall we insulated, we repaired it within 3 days. My worker did leave his cooler/lunch box on the job which he then went back and picked up. The insulation material that was on the ground was picked up although some may have been frozen in the snow, it was snowing pretty hard the day we installed. I had a coupon which covered materials and then there were additional fees for the installation and everything else. Everything went pretty well. They were prompt and they cleaned up afterwards. They were late coming in. There's an area near the attic that they might have missed and I didn't realize until it snowed the other day. I haven't had a chance to call them to see what they would do about it. They insulated under the roof and it was specifically because we were having problems with the snow melting and the ice. The roof was pretty good except in one section. I don't know if that's because of where the section is or if they happened to miss that area with the insulation but I haven't had a chance to call them to check it out. The quality was pretty good. They called back and I was able to set up the appointment and I think it was less than a week after I talked to them. It was kind of a schedule mix up. They were supposed to do us in the morning and somebody else in the afternoon but the afternoon people did in the morning and they did us in the afternoon.
Description of Work: I used Northeast Insulation Services LLC about a month ago for insulation underneath the roof on both sides of the house and insulation in the attic area. In one part they had to open a new access door to put in the insulation.
