They came out and determined that the door could not be fixed, but they quickly removed the door so we could get our cars out, ordered a new door and came back a few days later to install. They had previously fixed this door a number of times (over many years) and had warned us the last time they fixed it that we should probably start saving for a new door because it was on its last legs. Even with that, they gave us great advice on selecting. New door and I felt like they saved us money.

Fixed the issue at a reasonable cost and gave me some recommendations on replacement costs for my 30 year old heavy wood door.

A few weeks ago, my garage door was making a loud noise w opening and then stopped in mid raise, my car also now trapped inside. I called Akron Garage Door and Mark said he could be there next morning. Mark was on time, disciplined, focused and quick when replacing my broken garage door spring. I heard him meticulously counting the exact number of screws removed and then put back onto each spring. ( I chose to have both springs replaced. His price and the availability were best of the 4 Angie's List Companies I contacted for estimates). He then counted number of revolutions needed to remove each spring from the bar so he’d repeat when replacing it. He was approachable enough to ask questions, important because I like to understand what’s being done on my home, but also I wanted to know if I was performing maintenance correctly on the opener and door parts. They came out same day, arrived at the time they had mentioned on the phone, and looked over the issues. They did a basic tune up and fixed the piece that had broken, keeping work to a minimum as they agreed that it was time to stop putting money into this old door and get a new one. They were done is just under an hour. They gave us some insights into how much a replacement would cost and what they could do to keep the price down.

He arrived a few minutes early and replaced both torsion springs, secured the lift wires, lubricated rollers, and tightened hinge bolts, all within an hour. He is professional, easy to talk with, honest, and efficient. We highly recommend him for garage door servicing.

I woke up on a Saturday morning to find the door on my two car garage door looking like it had not closed evenly. Upon inspection, I found that the lift cable on one side had snapped and the door would not open. It was 8:00 in the morning and I had an important appointment at 10:00. None of the local garage door companies were open or did not operate on Saturday, so I called Akron Garage Door since they showed as being open. I spoke with Tom Duggar and explained my situation. He said if he was in town, he could fix it. He gave me contact information for his father, Robert Duggar, and told me to call him. He said his father had retired from the business, but might be willing to help me if he had the time and energy. I called and was lucky enough to get him live. He said he was working today but had a job scheduled that would take till early afternoon. The tone of my response must have conveyed my disappointment because he said he would make a call to see if he could push his other job back to work on my door first. Robert immediately called me back and said his other job could be pushed back. He arrived at my house a little before 9:00 and was finished around 9:40, which left me time to make my appointment. In addition to replacing both lift cables, he installed a brace to a section of the door that had rust damage. His quote for the job was $110, which was extremely fair considering the fast response and extra work he did. He was very professional in his approach and did not try to sell me things I didn't need. When I do have my garage door system replaced, I will probably hire him for the job.

Had a broken garage door spring. Mark came out the next day even though it was a Sunday. I had him replace the springs on both garage doors plus lubricate and adjust both doors. Excellent professional service at a very fair price. Highly recommend if you need any type of garage door service!

I called him with my problem and he was here within a few hours.  Replaced the springs, made the adjustments and everything was working great. Very nice guy. Woudl definitely call again.

I had an old one piece overhead wood garage door that was coming off the track.   The old door was quite heavy and Mark with great effort was able to get it back on the track.  He said it could come off at anytime.  My own judgement even before he came was that the door would need to be replaced.  He applied no pressure on me to buy a new door quoting a price for the door alone and a  second quote that included hauling away the old door and the hardware.  Mark stated that it might be up to a week and half before he could install the door which I said was alright.  He was back five days later to install the door.  He stayed on task the entire time he was there only taking a very short break of less than ten minutes for lunch.  He was polite, friendly and I felt very comfortable having him on the premises.  He could not take away the old door the day of installation, but returned the next day to cut it up into pieces  he could lift.  The door was from the early fifties so the opening was not standard for today's doors and there was a slight gap on the top and sides.  When he returned for the haul away he brought along framing wood that took care of the gap and there was no additional charge.  Mark is a one man business that does honest quality work.  I prefer to give my business to a reputable local business when I can and Mark fit that bill.

 Very punctual, very knowledgable, very polite and problem was fixed within 20 minutes.

Type of spring that had broken is no longer available. I have an unusual setup because one track is shorter than normal to allow space for disappearing staircase.
They were able to find a shorter spring that allowed the tension on both tracks to be the same.
The door seems smoother now than it ever has been.

Our garage door opener malfunctioned on Sunday. We called Akron Garage Door, and Mark answered (we did not get voice mail which was nice). He gave us an approximate price and we scheduled his services for 8:00 am on Monday, Aug 4. He called when he was on his way and arrived promptly.
He explained what was broken and what should be replaced. He was not pushy at all. We went with his advice.
Mark was extremely pleasant, professional and efficient.
He did a great job - the garage door works smoother than it ever has.
We would definitely use Akron Garage Door again and recommend them.

I called Akron Garage at 8:00, and Rob was out at 11:00 to fix the door. He put on new cables, rollers, and made sure everything was fixed correctly. He was professional, efficient, and did a great job. I will use Akron Garage in the future.

The guy came out, he was very courteous, he doesn't push you, he explains what has to be done, and then he tells you the price. I would definitely recommend him.

Our garage door was stuck halfway down and wouldn't budge. Our car was in the garage and we couldn't get it out. Mark from Akron Garage Door came out the same day we called and repaired the garage door so we could get our car out. He needed a part and came back the next day and finished repairing the garage door opener. The price was less than half what I had expected to pay. We are extremely happy with Akron Garage Door and would recommend them to anyone.

It went very well we had the estimate done back in April and he said call us when we were ready. So we called him and brought the door he installed it and he was very professional. We have used them before for repairs to our garage door in past. He was punctual and explained everything and cleaned up after.

The price was a lot lower than I thought it was going to be. They were very responsive and he was out here when he said he was going to be. Outstanding, he was very professional.

I had a really nice experience with Akron Garage Door. I noticed that one of the springs was broken. My wife and I wanted to replace the garage door opener at the same time so it could be updated with some safety features. I called them on a Monday morning; they were able to come out Tuesday afternoon, later in the day to kind of work around our schedule. A two-person crew came out and got everything replaced. They were very friendly and installed a garage door opener that we were very happy with. There was a little bit of a discrepancy on the price that I heard over the phone versus what they were going to charge. They honored the lower price on that without any questions; did not make me feel bad and basically just trusted me and charged me the lower price. On the way out they noticed a couple of the hinges on the inside of my garage door; one was cracked and one was kind of popping off. One of the technicians went through his truck and found a couple of hinges; unbolted the old ones and put on two new ones and did not charge me a dime, which I thought was pretty special. I would absolutely recommend using them and if I have any other needs in the future for any sort of garage-type of work they are going to be the first place that I call.

Robert Dugger from Akron Garage is a class act all the way. My appointment was scheduled from 12-5 and he called me at 11 to tell me had an opening. After trouble shooting the garage door, he identifed the circuit board as the root cause. Unfortunately he didn't have one in his truck, but I told him we need to have the door fixed by Wednesday, so he came back later in the day. There were some issues with the new board, that took Rob over an hour to resolve. However instead of charging for the 2.5 hours it took him to complete the job, he charged for an hour, because it wasn't my fault that he had issues with the board. I was really pleased that he gave us the cheapest option, instead of looking for the easy way, like replacing the whole opener.
We spent 2x this for similar work on another property. Rob, was polite, courteous, and punctual. I'd recommend him to anyone with garage door problems.
