Paint work in bathroom remodel was sloppy and deck boards warped badly after six months. Several collectable items turned up missing during construction.

Don was very professional the entire time. He stayed in contact with me and would let me know when he (or his subs) would be able to be there for work. He always kept these service appointments when they were definitively scheduled. One complaint, he would often give an estimate on when he would be able to call and firm plans up to start work and he was usually always later than when he would give as an estimate, but this is my general experience with contractors. The work was always completed at cost and on schedule (maybe it would run over by a day or two from estimates, but that was no problem). The only complaint I have generally is the communication level if a judgement call for oversights on my part was lacking. For instance, in the first phase (remodeling the walls in the basement) I had told him to remove the old wood burner, which he did, I had neglected to tell him that I'd like to keep the wood burner since someone may have wanted to buy it or at least it would be worth something if recycled, he assumed that it would go in the trash with everything else. And in the second phase (tile) his tile sub-contractor did not remove the base moulding in the basement bathroom before installing tile. He did correct it for free once I pointed int out, but he should have called me at least before starting to avoid the rework. On the whole, everything went as well as it could have gone and I will be hiring him again for any work I have done in the future.
Description of Work: We hired Don Petrosky to remodel our old basement and Foyer. This included multiple phases of contruction, in the first phase he and his sub-contractors removed an old wood burner, some brick facade, and a lot of wood paneling in the basement and replaced all of it with drywall. The second phase of the construction involved his tile contractor installing new ceramic tile in the foyer and basement hallway. Included installing tile with cement and grout. The last phase had Don removing the old wrought-iron railing on the steps in the foyer and the old trim in the foyer (base moulding, trim around the steps, and door casings) and installing all new oak railing and trim.
