+ 1 moreExtremely well. The Yard Helpers team worked fast and effectively and made our home's exterior a showplace, The team of four men worked 5 1/2 hours and laid down 3 yards of mulch. Cavin took the time to talk about suggestions for future landscaping/types of flowers to plant in the spring. I wish I had a before picture to show you the difference he's made to our home.
Description of Work: We bought a home whose yard needed a ton of TLC. The front flower beds were overgrown with Canadian Thistles and poison ivy, the other flower beds were stuffed with weeds, and the bushes were overgrown. Cavin brought a team of four men to tear out the weeds, shape the bushes, prune the trees, strip the English ivy from the garage, lay mulch in all the flower beds and totally transform the appearance of our home. When my husband came home, the first words out of his mouth was "wow".

+ 3 moreGreat! Cavin met me at the house a few days after I called him and we went over all the things I wanted done. He was able to give me a verbal estimate while we were chatting. He and his crew came out at the time & day we had agreed to. They were very professional and hard working and my yard has never looked better! They cleaned up everything & hauled it all away. I highly recommend Cavin and his crew. I'm planning on calling them back in the spring to do some additional bed work.
Description of Work: Remove 1 small tree, trim 3 trees, remove 3 shrubs, misc stump removal. Edging & mulching flower beds, weed pulling. Lots of weed pulling! Removal of poison ivy.

Description of Work: Calvin was very responsive and has a passion for his work. His crew showed up on time and cleared weeds and debris from our back hillside that was partially planted, so needed to keep the plants and clear the weeds. They also removed a tree stump. They were done in the allotted time and came back when I noticed a few things they missed. They did not charge for the additional time.

Description of Work: Yard Helpers did a wonderful job on my rather large landscaped yard and their crew were very nice and polite. They disposed of a lot of weeds over two visits in early summer and last week when they did another clean up. |They cleaned every bed and pulled thousands of Thistles ( I'm not kidding!) which were rampant and waist high in most places. I plan to ask them to come back next spring to do more yard work.

+ -1 moreI used Yard Helpers for my yard. It was good and bad. The came out and they talked to me ahead of time. Somehow we went from the big deal to a total of $405. Even as I look at it now, I looked at the bill, I don't quite understand what happened because on the bill it shows four hours worth of work and disposal of the yard waste for the $99. But then, it shows $300 something for emptying their container. When I talked to the gentleman in charge, he showed me things that they were going to do that might take more than four hours. They didn't do everything he said and on the bill it said the work took four hours. It was the emptying of this container that is what cost me that chunk of change. I went ahead and paid it. They did clean my backyard, it's just that I felt like I got taken a little bit. The bill did not make much sense to me. They did a good job. They didn't do everything they said they were going to do but what they did was very good. They did haul everything away. He came out very quickly. I don't think he was very professional. I really felt pressured.

Description of Work: Trimmed and shaped two rows of bushes, edged and trimmed along walks, cleared and organized an overgrown storage area, trimmed assorted trees and bushes, cleared all of the cuttings and debris, and swept porch and walks.

Description of Work: The offer was extremely misleading. I paid for 4hours of yard work for $99.00. He showed up with 3 workers .. ( the owner Cavin, was the 4th .. Except that he sat in his car the whole time ) As soon as he started the work he mentioned what will happen if they go over the the time? I was confused and asked him as to how would they go over when they have 4 hours. He chose not to respond and ignored my comment .. After less than a hour had passed he said that I would have to pay $140. For the second hour and every hour after that. I was shocked. I never asked him to bring 4 workers ( the offer mentioned 2 ) . I asked him to stop the work and he demanded payment on the spot for the 2nd hour. By then a half hour had passed and since I did not want to argue anymore I asked him to leave. He insisted I pay him right there and then for the hour. I said no since its been only a half hour since the hour and gave him a check for $70.00 since he would not leave without me giving him money. This was a horrible experience .. Perhaps I misunderstood the offer BUT that does not give any one the right to be loud, rude and offensive. No where in the offer did it say that if there were 4 workers it would be only one hour of work. I would never have bought it if that's what it said. The crew .. The 3 workers who worked for the owner were courteous and efficient. The owner was someone I would never do business with again. I pretty much ended paying $169.00 for less than a hour and a half work when I thought I had bought 4hours @ 99.00. Even if it had been $99.00 for 2 hours and 2 workers I would have been fine . Lesson learnt ! Never again

+ -1 moreThey did a fabulous job cleaning up my yard. I’m not real sure it was represented real well of what the deal was. I spent big time. I think that they were way misrepresented for the $99. I ended up with $422 and I found that out to be it. My interaction with them was fine. I like Kevin a lot. Kevin was very good. They were clean. They were tidy. They cleaned everything up. The yard looks great afterwards. I would probably use them again but I’d be very much more aware of what they were going to charge me. I like them a lot. I was just very surprised when all of a sudden Kevin came up with this and this and $99 got me one hour of work out of three guys. My service guy is not available right now and I was desperate. I probably would just hire them to come every week or every other week and do my yard but I’ll really think about how expensive they were. I just think it wasn’t real honest the way it was presented on me on the website.

+ 0 moreCavin and his crew did an excellent job. The landscaping work they performed made a dramatic difference in the view I have of the ravine. It was a great improvement. Two of my neighbors who saw the results of the work in my yard used this company to work on their yards and flower beds and they also were happy with the results.

+ -1 moreMr. Carmell spent about 10 minutes looking at the work to be done and quoted a price orally. It was about twice what 2 others had already quoted. When I asked him to put it in writing he refused, saying that I would just "shop around his price". He then abruptly turned, walked away and drove off. Very unprofessional and disturbing.
Description of Work: Came to house to estimate yardwork, including mulching, weeding, pruning, power washing and general cleanup. Saw his ad in the Upper Arlington News.
