I hired Ken throughout my building process.  First Inspection was PreDrywall, second was PreClosing and the last just completed before the one year warranty expires.  All three inspections were completed from roof to basement and everywhere in between.  Ken found things that I would never have known about and provided a detailed PDF report the next day with Digital pictures highlighting problem areas.  Ken is a very professional, knowledgeable, and kind person.  I highly recommend.

We were buying a flipped home, so we put a lot of stock in the inspector's verdict on whether the sellers had done things correctly. He seemed thorough and professional, and we know that inspectors can't catch everything. However, after six months in our home, we are facing thousands of dollars in repairs for the following, none of which were noted or really even hinted at in the inspection:
-A major leak in a part of our roof due to incorrectly installed flashing on one side of the roof. Inspector had said roof seemed fine and even recommended fixing some flashing on one side, which we did. We can only assume he did not check the side of the roof that is leaking.
-This leak has apparently caused the entire top of a corner beam to rot away, so that nothing is supporting the roof on that side. In addition, our home has developed a hole in this place, so that, upon removing the drywall, the room is open to the outdoors. Basically, it was just raining into our wall.
-Sagging gutters that pour water into the house when it rains. We were never home to see this happening until one day, an entire portion of the wall was pouring in water.
-An incorrectly installed window.
-A tub that's leaking into the drywall, likely because the flippers used grout instead of caulk around the tub.
-A shower that leaks into the downstairs ceiling. Water spots were in that ceiling warning of a problem, but the inspector did not note them and we didn't notice until we closed.
Again, none of this was noted during the inspection. We are very careful and particular people and did our best to supervise the inspector and think of everything before we decided to buy this house. But you can't think of everything or see everything yourself. That's why you hire an inspector! Given all of the above oversights, which are adding up to thousands upon thousands of dollars in urgent repairs, Ken with WIN did not do a good job, and we would not recommend him to everyone.

Outstanding Service!  Ken showed up exactly at the time promised for both inspections.  He addressed any concerns I might have about the house before the inspection.  He thoroughly inspected the house from roof to basement.  He was happy to have me follow along the inspection and he found things I never would have known about.  Within a day or two I received a detailed PDF report of his findings with photographs highlighting critical points that I submitted to the builder for correction.  Very professional.  I will definitely hire him again before my 1 year warranty on the new home expires.  New builds are not perfect.  Do yourself a favor and hire an inspector.  If they are like Ken, the ounce of prevention you will pay is worth so much more than the pound of cure.

I was very pleased with the quality of Ken's inspection. Although it took several hours, he was extremely thorough and precise.

Wonderful Service.  I had to reschedule several times due to the bank owned house not being ready for inspection.  Win Home Inspectors were very polite and professional during all of my changes.  They encouraged me to be present during the inspection. I thought they were very thorough.  He explained everything he was doing.  I learned quite a lot about the structure of the house.

Ken Bowen was fantastic.... allowed me to shadow and answered all questions and pointed out issues I would not have even thought to check for. Professional, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable of the building and materials (house was from the 1920s). Was able to give approximate costs of repair though recommended contractors for hard figures. Spent 3 & 1/2 hours at the property and wrote a 50+ page electronic report with photos and descriptions within 48 hours of the inspection.
My only complaint would be that he was almost too thorough! By the end of the inspection he had found so many issues with the property that I started to wonder if I really wanted to buy the house!. I would highly recommend him and will absolutely use him in the future.

Well, as usual, I told the whole story in the services performed area! It went really well, and we are so pleased with Ken. He is so knowledgeable and ready to share information, and point out what we can do in the future to make our new home better and safer.

Ken Bowen was my inspector and he was great. He was already inspecting the roof when I showed up a few minutes late. He actually got on the roof. I've had inspectors in the past that just look at the roof through binoculars from the ground. Ken was polite and professional, he went in the attic and crawl space to really look around, and offered suggestions on how to make some quick fixes. As a former landlord I've had many property inspections in the past and none have been as detailed as Ken. He found many issues that we ended up getting resolved through negotiations with the seller before close. I also hired WIN to check for elevated Radon levels, which they did find. The final report was concise and easy to understand. I would definately use WIN again. Ken was the best Home Inspector I've ever had.

I used them for three home inspections while selecting a new house. They showed up on time, were polite, respectful, and professional at all times. They saved me from purchasing two "money pits" by identifying hidden problems and I am very grateful for that. They are very knowledgeable and patient with questions and were excellent at reporting their findings. I recommend them without reservation!

We contacted them in the afternoon and they were available to come out the next day with a two man team to satisfy the time constraints of our contract. Very thorough, cordial and informative.

Mike was very thorough in his inspection, noting things that we would have never discovered or even thought of. He flushed the toilets, turned off and on lights, lit the gas stove, ran the fans, climbed on the roof, checked for termites, examined the electrical and plumbing system, checked the foundation, looked for signs of mold, looked for insulation, and many other things I can't even remember (but it's in the report). We was very respectful, honest, friendly, and gave us more than our money's worth. He answered our questions and sent by email a preliminary report within 24 hours. A nice binder with the official report arrived a few days later. I'd definitely recommend Mike and WIN for home inspections.

Performed a comprehensive home inspection. Mike Leyshon (the inspector) arrived on time and did a very professional job. He took the time to explain what he was doing, what he was looking for, and what he found. He was very open to questions and provided very useful answers. The next day I received a written copy of his report along with suggestions for fixing any problems and a home maintenance guide.

Good, but with some glitches. Ken came highly recommended by our real estate agent, and his report was very organized and professional looking in its blue plastic binder. However, he made a few errors in the report (type of windows, state of garage door), errors he attributed to having inspected 2 other homes that same day that were "almost exactly the same". This caused us some confusion, especially since we were dealing with negotiations at a long distance. On the whole, however, the inspection was well done, and as we have addressed the various issues he raised, we have felt that we are making the house safer and sturdier.

As a new homeowner, I appreciated getting a quick education from Ken on home ownership and the things that need regular maintenance. About 3 days after I moved into the house, however, the tub spout broke off in the main bathroom and I had to deal with this problem. Ken had noted in the inspection report that there was probably some damage or problem with the plumbing, since there were rust stains around the tub faucet area. I wish Ken had removed the access panel behind the tub, then he would have seen that some of the pipes had rotted out. If I had known this issue existed, I would have asked the home seller to repair this. I could have avoided the cost of the plumbing repairs that I had to incur and the pain of being without water for 3 days. Since the report has a disclaimer that problems can not be detected behind walls, I assume I can not hold the inspector responsible for having missed this.

Mike was very nice to work with, very informative, and very thorough. He checked everything and went everywhere, including a boarded up crawl space where he found enough problems that we cancelled our offer.

KEN, DID A VERY THOROUGH JOB INSPECTING OUR FUTURE HOME. HE POINTED OUT SPECIFIC ISSUES THAT WE ADDRESSED BEFORE PURCHASE. BECAUSE OF HIS THOROUGHNESS WE WERE ABLE TO SAVE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY ON OUR CLOSING COSTS AS WELL AS MAKING SURE WE WERE AWARE OF ALL THE ISSUES, WE MAY BE CONFRONTED WITH AS THE FUTURE RESIDENTS OF OUR HOME. THIS WAS THE FIFTH TIME WE HAVE USED KEN TO INSPECT A HOUSE. BECAUSE OF THE INSIGHT HE PROVIDED US, WE WERE ABLE TO FIND THE PERFECT FIT FOR OUR WANTS AND NEEDS. WE ACTUALLY OPTED OUT OF ONE PURCHASE BECAUSE OF THE INFORMATION HE PROVIDED US.

THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I'VE USED KEN & MIKE AND BOTH EXPERIENCES HAVE BEEN VERY GOOD. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL, THOROUGH AND WILLING TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS. THE PRECISION AND THOROUGHNESS MADE ME FEEL AS THOUGH THEY WERE INSPECTING THE UNIT FOR THEMSELVES. THEY ARE BOTH EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT AREA REAL ESTATE AND HOME CONSTRUCTION.

SHOWED A COMPLETE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM DURING INSPECTION OF OUR HOME. HE BEGAN SHOWING A BIAS AGAINST ALL FLAT TOP ROOFS WITH THIS STATEMENT TO THE PROSPECTIVE BUYER - ''DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING YOURSELF INTO WITH A FLAT TOP ROOF?''. BUYER BACKED OUT OF CONTRACT EVEN THOUGH THE INSPECTION FOUND ZERO PROBLEMS WITH OUR ROOF, ZERO STRUCTURAL DEFECTS, AND ONLY MINOR ISSUES THAT WERE RESOLVED WITH LESS THAN $300 OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET TO REMEDY.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY WAS FAIRLY GOOD AS THEY WERE QUITE THOROUGH IN INSPECTING THE HOME. HOWEVER, WE WERE NOT INFORMED OF SOME SERIOUS ISSUES RELATIVE TO ANIMAL CONTROL THAT WERE INHERENT GIVEN THE CONSTRUCTION METHODS USED FOR THE CRAWL SPACE BENEATH AN ADDITION TO THE HOME, AND NOW HAVE BEEN FORCED TO HIRE AN ANIMAL CONTROL COMPANY.
