Velocity Archery Range

Velocity Archery Range recently opened, and I am absolutely thrilled to have a place to shoot my bow! Its conveniently located off 270 and Alum Creek Rd., easy to get to. The facility is very nice, and family oriented, everyone is welcome. The owner has taken a lot of time to set up the kids range, making it look like a jungle, with green painted walls and vines covering the walls and ceilings. The dinosaur 3D targets are adorable. Kids would love to shoot here. The owner has even begun hosting supervised birthday parties, and I have been telling my friends with kids about them. With the recent movies featuring archery (Hunger Games, Narnia) there is an increased interest in kids wanting to learn archery, but until now, very few places to learn.
The targets at Velocity are great, arrow removal is really easy, and Velocity has quite an extensive range of 3D target animals to shoot at, which is  a lot of fun, and great practice for those getting ready to hunt. My favorite is Undead Fred, the Zombie target! The elevated range is great for those practicing tree stand shots, and they have a great system for safety on the range, employing a red light to let shooters know the range is closed during arrow retrieval. I felt very safe shooting there, and have been shooting there weekly since they opened. The facility is open Mon-Fri 10-8pm, and Sat 10-5, I highly recommend it. There is even a nice lounge area to watch the shooters from, with comfy couches and a flatscreen TV. Its a great place to shoot a bow, I am very glad to have found it! I even went and bought that new bow I had my eye on, now that I know I have a place to shoot it!
