They were able to integrate the old sensors plus add new and advanced sensors, we were very pleased.

Switch over went well.  However, now that I have had the system for a year and half, I am finding out the flaws and hidden problems I did not think about at the time.  The system only checks out in once a month.  If that once a month signal is not received, Vector sends out a letter.  It took 14 DAYS for them to mail the letter to me that the phone was not checking in.  Why they could not pick up the phone and call me is beyond ridiculous.  That's malpractice in my book.  A security company that does not tell you when the system is down?!

We had Vector a half dozen years ago in NJ and knew we wanted another alarm system here in Columbus,  We talked with their main competitor but after reading the reviews and getting an estimate, we went back to Vector.  The quality of the system and its user friendliness is great.  Vector is responsive, family owned, and appears to genuinely be concerned about their customers.  We had a question, called at 10 pm at night, and spent some time with the technician.  When we apologized for calling so late, he was so gracious, saying that they enjoyed answering any questions and that they gladly provided 24-hour service.
Chris did a great job sharing the latest deals with us.  Because there was a competitor's system in the home before, we were able to utilize some of the motion detectors wit'h meant that the Angie's list special went even further.  We really got a great deal with monthly monitoring and all the features we wanted.  Because I wasn't home when it was installed, Chris made an extra trip out and went thru the system with me, which I appreciated.
One thing we didn't expect when we got the first system from Vector was how relaxed we were when we leave the house.  We live in a good neighborhood, but I found we still were wondering if everything was alright at home -- until we got the alarm system.  Now, we relax and enjoy, knowing that we are covered.  And we set it when we are alone in the home, which means we sleep better.
I highly recommend them and would gladly purchase their services again.

I pay every three months and that include if I have a battery out they will come and replace it for free. We feel safer and more secure.

The salesman as well as the service tech were professional and prompt. They came out the next day and had the system up and running. They also provided additional equipment to match a competitor's at the same price.

Their prices are better than the other company. They are a privately owned company so they are able to offer better pricing on certain things. We can’t think of anything that we weren’t happy with.

My current security system monitoring service is going out of business at the end of the year and I needed a new monitoring service.  Father and son arrived promptly, checked out the system and said they could monitor with no changes to the system.  There was no effort to sell me something else but they were kind enough to give me an estimate to add an emergency service ("I've fallen and I can't get up") at a future time.  While their charge is slightly higher than what I was paying before, it is in line with other monitoring services.  After signing a contract for monitoring, they reprogrammed my system to report to their monitoring service.  My preference is to use locaI service providers and I was impressed with the integrity demonstrated by this small company.  Father and son own the company and have a vested interest in providing a quality service.

Chris, the sales representative, explained in great detail the options available and what would be the best for my home.  The installer was very knowledgeable of the system and made the installation and explained the system and how to use it and the options.  Chris followed up to make sure I was happy with it and asked if I had any questions.

Outstanding!   Excellent seamless service from start to finish! This company truly has there act together.  I truly believe this is a company who takes being an Angie's List provider very seriously.
Nick was my sales representative.  He initiated contact with me and remained in close contact throughout the product choice, purchasing, installation and follow-up for both, my office and home.  He even met off-site and reviewed the alarm specifics with a trusted colleague to ensure I was purchasing the correct product for my needs. 
When it came time to install the alarm Vector worked with me as to the best time to install.  I had two different teams of technicians and both were professional, courteous and quick at their craft.  I had to reschedule my home installation several times and they were understanding and respectful.  They quickly rescheduled without issue. 
The system itself is state of the art!  Amazing functionality and ability to set my alarm keypads from remote locations. 
I highly recommend Vector security and look forward to on-going excellent customer support after the sale!  Bravo!

They were excellent.  The salesperson was very knowledgeable.  He went through the control panel with me so I would know how to use it, it is a very user friendly system now.  I would definitely recommend them.

nothing We set off the alarms and the company never responded.  This has happened before and we had to pay a service call to fix problem.  Thought things were fixed.  Dog set off alarm and once again no contact from company.  Was told I would have to pay for service call.  I decided to stop service and I had to pay to do that!  What a scam.  Paying monthly fees for no sevice.

Very well. Thorough discussion of options and compromise on some system features. It's a 3 yr contract but I think it was a fair price for a $99 system. Technician was clean and helpful, reviewed how to use system. Salesman followed up a couple days later, which is almost unheard of any more.So that is a big plus for these guys.

Everything went as scheduled.  I was given complete information about the new system.  The installer did a nice job.  I have what I need now and I am happy !!!

The salesman was very knowledgible and guided us to a reasonable system.  There is no reasonable way to protect against all possibilities so some compromises need to be made.  A knowledgible saleman is essential.  The salesman should be providing options and making recommendations.  The Vector salesman did.  An  "I'll do what you want approach"  is a bad sign.  The Vector proposal was attractive so we contracted for the system.

The installation eventually was successful but not straightforward.  The installer had to make three trips.  The locations of the control boxes that we agreed to with the salesman were difficult to wire up.  I found myself in a negotiating mode with the technician. The technician didn't have the high tech equipment I expected - equipment that allows threading wires through ducts and walls.  It looked like we were going to have to compromise on the locations until I pointed out some options that we could use.  Also, with double hung windows, the window can be opened by the lower pane going up, or the upper pane going down.  The switch and magnet need to be located on both panes to protect against up or down opening.  This requires a thin magnet on the window pane that can be problematic if the window recess is too shallow.  Everything eventually worked but I wasn't sure until the very end of the installation.  Tha fallback was to add additional switches to each window at an added cost.

Also note:  these systems normally operate via the phone lines.  However, the system doesn't know if the phone line is operational (the connection is only checked once a month or so).  This isn't a real issue with the fire protection (loss of the phone line and a fire at the same time is unlikely); but it is an issue with a potential burglery. All a robber has to do is cut the phone line with a cheap pair of scissors and the system will not connect with the monitoring station.  The house alarm will go off,  but no one at the monitoring command center will know.  The fix is to use a cell phone connection that is independent of the phone line.  This is an added $100 to $200 in installation and added $10/month.  I thought it was crazy to have a system that could be disabled with scissors so I opted for the cell connection.

Recommendations:
Define locations for control panels and sirens with the salesman.  Write it down as part of the contract. Make a note that if the company can not locate the devices as agreed to, then the contract is invalid and your money gets refunded.
Define a plan, in writing, for the switches on the double hung windows.  Both the up and down movement of the panes needs to be protected.  If there is some issue with the switch geometry, then the company needs to add additional switches at no cost

Vector personnel convertered our home from ADT service to their service.  This included, among other things, a new control panel and door connections.  This was all done and the new system operable within about 90 minutes.  We are very happy with our new system.

Saleman was going door to door in neighborhood. Very nice. Offered free install of monitored security system with various optional features to customize to my situation. Cost was activation of system with 5 year contract and keeping sign in front yard. Discount on Homeowners insurance. Seemed like a good idea - lots of people getting robbed and installing security after the fact. Installers were very nice. They were young guys (collage age) and I was a little worried but all were friendly and professional and seemed to know what they were doing. At end of install there was small issue getting internet and phone hooked back up. They had to re-wire part of phone line - something I had "fixed" previously. But they had a great attitude the whole time.
I've given this company a N/A in "responsiveness" because I haven't had to call them or had an emergency yet.  (Hope that rating doesn't change.)

They were really nice when they did that and upgraded us from analog to digital. We signed a 3 yr contract with them but the system was free.

When the technician arrived he could not figure out the problem and said that I would have to have an upgrade the system at some expense. The last thing he did was to unplug and replug the system back in. They never followed-up on the service call only sent a bill for it.

A GE SECURITY SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED IN OUR HOUSE WHILE BEING BUILT. IT INCLUDED 12 WINDOWS, A FRONT DOOR, BACK DOOR AND A SLIDER, AS WELL AS A MOTION SENSOR IN THE BASEMENT AND THE FIRST FLOOR. THE AMOUNT ABOVE WAS INCLUDED IN THE TOTAL PRICE OF THE HOUSE TO BE MORTGAGED. THE TWO GENTLEMEN WHO WE WORKED WITH DURING THE BUILD WERE WONDERFUL AND VERY HELPFUL. WHEN WE HAVE QUESTIONS WE CALL AND THEY ARE HELPFUL AND QUICK TO COME AND SHOW US WHAT WE NEEDED

THEY WERE THE FOURTH COMPANY THAT WE HAD COME OUT, WE HAD AN ADDITION ADDED ON AND NEW WINDOWS SO OUR SYSTEM NEEDED UPDATING. I LIKED THE SALESPERSON AND THE PEOPLE WHO DID THE INSTALLATION, THEIR WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FIRE ALARM SO THEY HAD TO UPDATE IT, I HAD PROBLEMS WITH 3 DIFFERENT COMPANIES. I WAS PLEASED WITH VECTOR, THEY WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND THE PRICE WAS GOOD.
