Larry Schmitz is the owner and operator of Twin Pines. He provide me timely estimates, scheduled the work with almost no delay (quite unusual for landscape contractors in the spring), and completed completely to spec in short order. The work was flawless, and he's agreed to inspect the job monthly for me. Of course that's for a small fee, but I've had a few landscaping projects go bad for want of competent oversight (I'm not competent; I hate gardening). The first time he came by, all he had to do was pull a few weeds, and he deemed that not worthy of submitting a charge, even though he traveled to my house to inspect everything. In other words, Larry is a very honest contractor whom I'd recommend highly. One of the reason I asked him to keep coming back on a monthly basis is that I never intend to employ any other company for this type of work.

He came out with some workers, and everyone just jumped right in, and used a wet saw in the back while they custom cut the pavers for the patio. The only thing is, they didn't cover my air conditioner, and it ruined it. We had to get a new air conditioning unit as the dust from all the sawing of the stone gunked up the filter on the unit. We, fortunately, were in the market for a new one, so we didn't really make a stink about it, plus at the same time, we had them move the air conditioner unit so that we didn't have it blaring at us while we enjoyed out pation. It was an ok situation. Anyone NOT wanting a new air conditioning unit, and NOT wanting to move it, should make sure they cover it with something to protect it while they work. There had been quite the mess of dust on EVERYTHING on my house, the siding, the windows, and of course, the air conditioner! Work was done pretty much when they said it would, I thought they were reasonable and punctual. We also had to have him come over several times to re-do loose pavers that made up the steps. Apparently he was having a really hard time with the company of the "goo" they use to adhere the pavers. We got tired of calling him after our warranty time was up, we used cement to adhere them and we haven't had an issue of loose steps since. This was a safety issue, of course, so we just wanted something that would work. I don't know why he doesn't just use cement.

Larry designed the patio and new landscaping.. He excavated the area and moved all existing plantings to other areas of the yard. After the patio was finished he then designed the area around the patio re-positioning shrubs and plantings. He installed wrought iron window well covers. Larry paid particular attention to drainage issues He stayed within our budget, began and ended the project at the time we decided on. Larry and his crew are always pleasant to have around. We wouldn't think of having anyone other than Larry take care of our yard. He has now designed and put in a front and back patio, moved trees, shrubs, planted new trees and shrubs, removed trees and done yearly spring clean up. We love his work and professionalism and we value his friendship.

He built it in a couple weeks. It has held up just fine. We have hired him before. He does quality work.

He has the integrity of God. He is very caring. He is always prompt. His work is wonderful. He has done a lot of things with us. He takes good care of trees. He trimmed them and put cables in them when he felt like they needed stabilized. He is wonderful. People stop in their cars to comment on his work. He really does outstanding work. You get what you pay for. He is really good in keeping you reasonable and I appreciate that.

Larry Schmitz, the owner, is the best of the best! He was responsive to my initial call and to all of my questions, and sent me an estimate exactly when he said he would. (Total contrast to two other companies I had called: One other companiy did not give me estimates after initially coming to visit, and one did not 'get' at all what I needed done in my yard, so drew up some elaborate plan that had little to do with what I'd asked for.) Larry and his team did beautiful work taking bushes and holly trees out, creating neat-looking beds, pruning, and building a stone wall around one of the beds. My husband came home from work and asked "did I come to the right house? this yard is too pretty to be ours." It was quite a contrast. What I appreciated was that Larry the owner was on the job himself, and I could call him any time to make adjustments. My neighbors had used his services and said he was absolutely trustworthy and had been in the business a long time, so we took their advice to hire him. So happy we did! I 'd recommend Larry to everyone. He can help you figure out what is bothering you about your yard, and make recommendations about how to improve it. That's really helpful for someone like me who doesn't know anything about plants or landscaping, and needs an expert with whom she can talk through options. This is the second or third time I have used Larry's services from Twin Pines Landscaping. Larry is always very professional and courteous, and is easy to discuss landscape needs with. He is not afraid to offer suggestions or his opinion. This past year, my allergies prevented me from being able to work much in the yard. We also needed several bushes removed and a replacement variety to be recommended and installed. I asked Larry to do the job for me before the landscaping get further out of hand. He and the staff he had for this service worked very hard and did an excellent job. They were always neat and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.

Larry is very knowledgeable about plants, trees, and landscaping in general. He provided very professional service by being punctual and completing the job within a couple days. The outcome exceeded my expectations. Although the prices may be a higher than other companies I requested estimates from, I think his knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail is worth the extra cost. Although I like to do my own landscaping, I wanted to get the right start since I recently purchased my home. I will continue to use Twin Pines to help me maintain my beautiful yard.

Excellent, Larry and his crew come in the spring to mulch flower beds, cut back ivy, prune bushes and plant flowers and they come in August to do the same. Always makes sure we are OK with the end product, cleans up well and makes suggestions for the future.

It went great, overall. It was a big project, we had rain and it made it hard for them to come and get things done as planned at times, but any time they couldn't make it out it was because of things that couldn't be helped. We made sure that the back door was always unlocked as they would store the saw right inside the patio door and they needed to use the bathroom as well. When they were here, they would show up around 8:00 AM and be here solid until around 5:00. Larry is the type of business man that likes to be at the project consistently until it's done. He said up front that he doesn't like to keep the customer waiting days on end while he finishes up with someone else's project. We appreciated this. A couple *negatives*: They used a saw to cut the stone very close to our air conditioner unit without covering the air conditioner unit, and as a result, we're suspicious that it is why it quit working over the summer and we had to get a new one. All that dust turned into cement inside the AC, as the AC acted as a big filter for all the stone dust. We were suprised they didn't take this into consideration and our electrician said the same thing when he came out. We had an electrician do our patio and landscape lighting pretty early on in the project, and when the last step of the project was landscaping, they had cut a line to the lights while landscaping, and the electrician had to come back out and re-wire it. That is often a common thing that happens, though, as they do digging where there is alot of wiring. Perhaps we should've waited on landscape lights after the fact. Extremely happy with Larry and all he did to beautify and make our back yard space a place to gather and make great memories in the future.

Schmitt was just very nice to work with and he gave me very good ideas and suggestions. He worked with me and was pretty good about understanding what my needs were. I was very satisfied with the service her performed. I thought that the price was pretty comparable.

I had used them before. He has done hardscape for us before and he did a huge stone patio. He has remodeled our basement. He has really done a lot. It is a small company and Larry runs it. He has two employees that work for him. He is a perfectionist and he is a wonderful landscape architect. He is very knowledgeable. He is realistic and will kindly tell me what will be most appropriate for our landscape. He is very punctual and always on time. He is always kind and pleasant. His people are always respectful and always leave the premises clean. He educates you on how to take care of the work he has done. He is very helpful when you come across problems. You can always call him and he is very good about helping with any problems. His prices are very competitive. You are getting a college-educated landscape architect so it is worth the price.

They really cleaned it up a lot. Larry is very professional and gives great advice on things we might want to do. He's pretty knowledgable. We've been dealing with them for years. Very honest and trustworthy.

The outcome was wonderful and we are very pleased and proud of the work. Larry has done other landscaping projects for us over the past 6 years. He also remodeled our basement and again we were very pleased. He is knowledgeable and professional. The quality of his work is outstanding. Larry leaves his projects clean and with information for the continued care of the landscape.

Worked with us on design options. Removed necessary dirt. Added and tapped down filler. Built steps and patio with pavers. Lots of stones to cut due to curves in design. Built sitting wall. Blocked off old window space. Looks very good from the inside. Cleaned up everything. Touched base with us every day. Spent as much time taking as we needed. Looks great!!!

I loved how they did lots of clean up. They were very professional, prompt, worked hard, and I really appreciated this. They did a good job and were thorough. Their pricing was also fair.

It went well! It was everything we wanted including privacy, and added more green space. We would highly recommend him.

The price is reasonable. They worked two days with three guys to do the job. They were really quite good. The owner was there most of the time supervising and he made sure they cut back what I wanted.

Installed annuals in May, cut back ivy and re-edging in August. Very professional, I have worked with Larry before, charged less than estimate because it took less time. About five years ago, he recommended we cut out some bushes, plant sod and re-edge the front. He is very nice to work with.

Larry Schnitz and his 2 man crew were wonderful. The work was perfect and they were always on time and clean. They have also done a number of landscaping work for us.
