We had an estimate right away after calling. Also they looked at the three crabapples in the front which seem to be dying. We were advised to wait and see how the crabapples did in the spring and if they do need to be removed it would not be difficult...just didn't want to take them out in case they did come back. (they could have made more money by just telling us they should be removed, but they didn't!) We had a call the week before they did the work (which was done in less than two weeks after the estimate) and they came exactly when they said they would. They even took away some yard clippings I had left out so I didn't have to dispose of them separately. The yard was cleaned up very well. So far so good...can't wait for the trees to bud out now.

Davey Tree has been working with us to care for our trees for at least 15 years ... we have 2 large (5-trunk) birch clusters, 3 crab-apples, several tall (healthy) arborvitae and a huge ash tree. Even though we treated the ash for the past 6 years to protect against ash borer, late this summer it began to show the telltale signs of infestation. After consultation with Davey Tree, we agreed that early November would be a good time to take it down.
We planted the tree 23 years ago, and it is about 70 feet tall, with a good branch spread, which extended a bit to our neighbor's yard over an old cedar fence. So, I asked Davey to be exceptionally careful not to have anything drop on the fence, which appears not terribly sturdy, and certainly to be sure no debris fell in their yard. I was also concerned about any equipment that might need to drive over our lawn, as we have a sprinkler system ... and vulnerable heads.
The 3-person crew showed up on time. The entire job was done "by hand" ... no Bobcat, only a wheelbarrel to handle the biggest part of the stump. The two ground crew members carried everything out on their shoulders. It was amazing to watch how methodically, and carefully, the man in the tree cut each of the branches and dropped them directly into our yard. They never touched our neighbor's fence, nor was there any debris left anywhere. The whole process took about 2 hours. The person contracted to grind the stump showed up about 30 minutes after the tree crew finished.
I have trusted Davey with our trees, and will continue to do so.

start to finish a professional company! salesman offered suggestions on how to best trim the trees for their long term health and beauty.
the crew showed up on time and completed their task in a timely manner and were obvious craftsmen. Both spoke highly about their employer and were proud to represent its good name. they left the site totally clean and walked us around asking if we were totally satisfied before they left. We would definitely Davey Tree Service again

They are reliable and responsive. I think the price is too much money. We have had to call them out whenever I have seen a problem. They come out for 3 visits in a year. They should be noticing when there is a problem. They come out when we call them.

I had them for years. The only problem I've had is that I had spider mites on my door popper spruces. The spider mites came before their annual treatment. My door popper spruces don't look as great because the mites happened before their July treatment. I've used them for years and years. They're very good.

I got a really big tree about 40 feet that part of it was dying and I ask them to remove it. One day I went to work and when I came home it was gone they also took a front tree which was about 20 feet. I was scared that if it fell it could damage my house they did a really good job. They did everything in one day. I could not put my arm around the trunk, which is how big it was.

I use them regular to spray bugs and they did the lawn. Every now and then I will have them do deep root fertilization. I just call them when I need them. The interaction was fine. They work they did was ok.

It worked out just fine. They were a little delayed, but there were storms in the area and they're opportunists as they are. So they didn't get right to us, but that's okay. Our trees were still standing and just needed to come down. It was about $750 for stump removal and taking a tree down. I liked that they came right out and gave us a quote and that it was reasonable and that they're a reputable company. I liked that they accidentally damaged one of my kid's wooden sandbox and they came out and completely fixed it, the way it was before. One of the branches fell on it. So I liked that they were responsible enough to admit their mistake and then fix it. So I really don't have any complaints. My interactions with them was over phone. My wife actually met with them when they came to the house. They were good, I guess, normal. The work they did turned out perfect. We got what we needed. It was pretty straight forward, really.
