After the big wind storm, we had a maple with two large split limbs and a trunk that was beginning to split. Kyle came within days to remove the split limbs (one was threatening the house); about a month later, when he was finished with other storm-related work that required immediate attention. Kyle returned and removed the entire tree in one morning and ground the stump and roots that afternoon. Clean-up was thorough. He not only could come sooner than other services, his price was significantly lower than other estimates during a period when tree removal services were going for a premium.

I called the owner and he came out earlier then planned. It only took a couple of hours to do the job. They were a pleasure to deal with. They were very professional.

This is a smaller company. The owner was impressive when he came. The crew was knowledgeable and worked efficiently. They were responsive and came immediately after the storm and returned 2 weeks later for finish the job. They did a good clean-up.

We went with a different Company only because of their "Organic" service. We are returning to Terra because of their professionalism, and we have seen other neighboring houses and the immaculate service rendered by Terra. Much better than my current gardener.

Mr. Mercer was responsive to our initial call and provided us a very reasonable estimate for the job. It was completed quickly and thoroughly. We had no complaints.

Got an estimate to remove a dead tree. Called back more than 10 times to inquire more details, did not receive any calls from them. Had to contact another company for estimate. This has delayed the process by a month already.

Mr. Mercer was very professional and true to his estimate. The work was done quickly, thoroughly and professionally. The yard waste was totally removed from the yard. I requested several of Terra Tree's business cards and passed them out to several of my neighbors. Mr. Mercer arrived at our work site when he said he would and was finished when he said he would be. It was nice to work with someone who represented themselves in true fashion.

It was amazing. I got an estimate the same day that I called and he was here the same day I said yes to the proposal. The pricing was around two hundred dollars cheaper than the competitors.

On July 31st I called and left a message indicating that I would like to get an estimate for trimming 4 trees. I also indicated in the message that the work needed to be completed by August 14th. I requested that if they were not able to do the job, or just didn't have time to PLEASE contact me. It is now August 6th and I have still not heard anything from them. I would never use a company that can't be bothered to make a simple phone call to let a potential customer know that they couldn't do the job this time, but please keep us in mind for the future.

We were extremely pleased with the work Kyle Mercer performed for us. He came one week to give us an estimate and was able to complete the work the second week. Mr. Mercer arrived on time and wrote out his estimate with detail so that when the time came to do the work, everything was outlined for him to do. We had several trees that had been trimmed by the electric company to accommodate wires. The trees were left misshapen and unbalanced. Kyle was able to make the trees balanced and look better than they had for years. He performed wonders with one very tall sweet gum tree. The sugar maple tree was cleaned up and lower limbs removed so they did not hang over the neighbor's garage. Mr. Mercer did the same with the white pines: balanced them, cleaned up the odd branches, and safely removed branches hanging over the neighbor's structures. He trimmed the several "volunteer trees" growing along the property line so that they would not interfere with overhead wires and removed branches that interfered with the wires for our telephone and cable connections. Then all branches and debris were cleaned up more completely than any other tree company we have had work for us. When he was finished the air was moving more easily in the yard and it was sunnier. We couldn't be happier with the job he did. Kyle Mercer is our tree man from now on.

Kyle responded within 2 days of my initial call. He left a detailed estimate with exactly what services he felt were appropriate based on his professional knowledge. We did not contact him for several weeks while we were on vacation but as soon as we came back we left a message which he returned within a reasonable amount of time and honored the original estimate. All work was completed as described and cleanup was remarkable given all of the branches trimmed and the removal of a large 2-story locust tree.

We contacted three Angie's List companies. They were the first to respond with a free estimate, and were about 25% less than the other estimate that we received. Their estimate included a breakdown for each of seven trees on our property. One of the three companies that we contacted didn't respond at all to our request for an estimate. They were prompt with their estimate and offered to perform the work the following week. After getting the second estimate, we called Terra Tree to authorize the work on four of the trees. It took about a week for their response to our authorization due to vacation schedules on their end, but they were prompt in getting the work scheduled after that, arrived as promised, and did an excellent job. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The service was done when promised. They did a good job thinning out the tree and cleaning up. It's a little hard to get Kyle to respond quickly, but when he does, he does what he promised. (This occurred with both the estimate and the service.) Note: To me, this is a good example of the value of Angie's List, even to contractors. I probably would have ultimately used someone else based on Kyle's slower response time, even though he had the best price and was in my neighborhood (which I like to support). If I hadn't read all the good comments about Kyle's work on Angie's List, I would have paid more and possibly received lesser service.

The tree was removed and the stumps were ground before I got home from work. They did a good job.

This Spring the leaves look even more anemic than ever, so I have called Terra Tree several times to see if they can analyze the problem. After leaving a number of voicemails no one has returned my calls.

Called on 2/12/08, left a voice mail requesting an estimate on a tree removal. Got a call back 2/21/08. He apologized for his tardiness in returning my call stating that he had been working hard at his other job of snow removal. Since I had not contracted the job yet, I asked him if he would get me an estimate as requested. I also mentioned that I got his name from Angie's List. He said he would make the visit 2/22 and give an estimate soon after. It is now 2/25 and I have not heard from him. As this is a rental property, I cannot confirm he even made the site visit. This level of in attention is inexcusable. If he is like this before he gets the job, what will he be like after he has your contract?

It was difficult to schedule the estimate. I called on November 27 and called again on December 4. He left an estimate on 12-11. Usually we left messages back and forth on the phone. There was a big snowstorm after the first call, and he does snow removal, so that was part of the reason for the delay. I left a message accepting the estimate, and he left a message proposing a time to do the work. I left a message accepting the date and he came at 1:00 p.m., after saying he would be coming in the late morning. He had been on another job and his equipment had broken down there. It would have been good to call me to say he would be later than expected.

No problems. Kyle had to remove a section of fence to get the stump grinder in place, but there was no extra charge for that. I will likely call him back in the spring to trim other trees.

Great!! Kyle and team did a great job with making a tree we thought about removing into a nicely shaped and thinned out tree. He also helped us treat an infected tree which is now doing well and growing again. Terra's pricing was very competitive and spot on with what I expected.

Mr. Mercer was timely and thorough in his initial estimate of the work that needed to be done on our trees. He personally did all of the work on the trees himself. The trees have never looked more beautifully shaped and trimmed. The clean up was also nicely done. His expertise and work ethic are to be highly commended.

I sent an email to the address listed in the Angie's list entry, and got a call back a few days later. To be fair, I sent the email on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. I was told someone would be out within a few days to complete an estimate to remove 2-3 overgrown weed-bush things. About a week later, I called the number listed and left a message, but my call was not returned and as far as I know the estimate was never completed, or at least delivered. I've since done some of the work myself and hired someone else to complete the job.

We called to ask for a quote and Kyle came out right away. We also let him know that we were on a tight schedule due to summer plans. He was very prompt in getting the work completed and getting everything cleaned up. The yard looks great. We would not hesitate to use Terra Tree in the future or to recommend them to others.

They removed the trees and ground up the stump. He called back right away, came when he said he would promptly. Did exactly what he said he would do. Nice and efficient. Price was very good.

Kyle called me back promptly (within 1 or 2 business days) and was out that day, to give me a free estimate. He was professional over the phone, but his estimate was about two times, that of the other company, that I ultimately selected.

We are very satisfied by the job overall. Would use him again in the future if needed.
