Swan Cleaners

Terrible. stay away!!!!! I took a leather Jacket here to be cleaned in March. They told me it had to be sent out and it may take as much as a month due to the pandemic. Fine. Fast forward to June when I am having To follow up with them repeatedly to check on my item only to be told they would check with the company they use and get back to me. Never got a call. Finally after spending yet another lunch break on the phone calling Swan cleaners, I am told my jacket must have been given to another customer with their cleaning back in March because the leather cleaning company says they sent it back to Swan but Swan didn't have it. What???!!! To clarify, this means my jacket was received back shortly after I had left it but I was never notified AND it was mid-sorted and given to another customer who kept it. To add insult to injury, after filing a claim for my jacket (because fine mistakes happen, apparently in multiples at Swan), and waiting weeks for any reply, I am eventually mailed a check for $100. This is mid July by this time. Four full months after taking my jacket in for cleaning. A Brooks Brothers leather jacket that I paid Swan $50 in advance to clean And retailed for $229. When asked why I wasn't given the value of my jacket and a refund for my cleaning. I am told it was decided by corporate based on the age of the garment Somehow, someone who never saw my jacket determined that my two year old Brooks Brothers leather jacket was only worth $50. Insulting. As some consolation prize, Stacey tells me "oh well we will give you $100 in free cleaning." Why would I ever bring you more of my things to devalue and mishandle? I will never "darken" this establishments door again. I suggest no one else who expects even DECENT treatment does either.

I noticed a sign in the window advertising 25% off all spreads, comforters, pillows, blankets, and slip covers.  I had just purchased a full ensemble a local yard sale.  I wanted to make sure everything was clean before I brought the items into my house even though the ensemble would be used in my basement where only my cat frequents.  When I got to the register, the sales clerk took all of my items except a pillow.  She said they didn't care for pillows like the one I had.  She also questioned why I would purchase bedding at a rummage sale.  (This might be a legitimate concern, but it did not seem an appropriate line of questioning.)  When she rang me up, the cost was much more than I expected.  I asked about the 25% off sale.  She said that sale ended at the end of the previous month.  I told her the sign was still in the window.  Instead of honoring the sign, she simply removed the sign from the window.  I placed a negative review on this site, and someone from Swan called me to discuss the situation.  She asked what she could do to rectify the situation.  I requested a partial refund of my bill.  Swan complied but requested that I not use their company again.

They had to send it out to have it done (so does every other place I asked). It took about two weeks, was done when they said it would be, and looks great now. No problems.

The lady who works the desk is great. She's friendly and very responsive. The quality is the reason I will not go back. In the three months I tried them out, they broke at least 10 buttons on my dress shirts. On most occasions the buttons were not repaired when broken, and even took a couple trips back in some cases. Once I even got a shirt back with the repair pin and tag still fastened to the broken button, yet the repair hadn't been completed. In addition, the quality of the pressing was awful. The collars were never pressed right. Even the placards over the buttons commonly had wrinkles pressed in to them. I gave them at least 5 chances to improve quality withouot any appreciable change.

Great - they came out looking brand new!

I was greeted promptly by a friendly clerk. I was able to pick my shirt up in a few days. I am unable to even tell where my shirt was torn.

They were able to completely remove the stains around the collar. I was very pleased with result.

This branch of Swan Cleaner's recently opened in the lobby of the building where my husband works. Since I could not seem to find a dry cleaner who was willing to pick up and deliver to our home, I thought this was a good alternative. They gave my husband a bag to carry his shirts back and forth in and they did a good job of cleaning and pressing the shirts. However, the price per shirt seemed high since when we had lived inside the outer belt we had received a lower price that included delivery. Also my husband wasn't thrilled about carrying the clean shirts in bad weather.

Went well. No problems, the shirts were clean and ready when promised. Would use them again.

They do a good job and are convenient.

This location has a drive up window which is ideal since I usually have my 21 month old son in the car and I do not want to get him in and out of the car for such a short errand.

We no longer use Swan Cleaners after they neglected to follow given instructions for a third time. I always specify NO CREASES in our pants, and every time I pick them up there are creases ironed in, which means I have to leave them for an additional 24 hrs to have them pressed out. We were very displeased.

The drive through service is fast and they are very nice to talk with. My items were not ready till 5PM and I had something else to be cleaned. They took it and did it for me same day so I could pick up everything at 5.

Swan does good work, but they're expensive compared to smaller non-chain dry cleaners and their prices for alterations are high.

The store lost my clothes & has been uncooperative in trying to rectify the situation. With the "blue bag" service, you don't get an itemized receipt showing what you've dropped off, but I had dropped off a bag with dress slacks 10 days earlier. When I returned to pick them up, the store manager printed off records from the computer indicating I had not dropped anything off in over a month. Interestingly, they DID HAVE MY BLUE BAG, just no clothes to go with it! She said she would check their rack of unidentified items, search the store, & call me back. I called back several days in a row to inquire of status & each time, the manager wasn't in, but I was told she would call me back the next day. Never getting a call back, I obtained the district manager's name & number. I got her voice-mail, left a message describing the situation, & requested a call back, but it never came. The value of the pants was over $200, with one pair brand new & only worn once before.

THE EMPLOYEES WERE VERY FRIENDLY, PUNCTUAL, AND REASONABLY PRICED, ESPECIALLY FOR THE SAME-DAY SERVICE THEY PROVIDED ON ONE OF THE SUITS AND DRESS.

WE USED TO USE THEM ALL THE TIME, FOR MY HUSBAND'S WORK CLOTHES. IT GETS EXPENSIVE, SO WE NOW USE MORE SPARINGLY. ONE THING I REALLY DISLIKED IS THAT THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE FREQUENT BUYER CARD -- YOU HAVE TO MAIL IT IN BY A CERTAIN DATE, CAN'T COMBINE THEM, AND SO FORTH. THAT'S A REAL DRAG. I LIKED THE PEOPLE WORKING AT THIS BRANCH. I THINK THE COMPANY HAS A POLICY THAT ISN'T NECESSARILY CONSUMER-FRIENDLY. THAT'S JUST OUR EXPERIENCE. OF COURSE, THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING IS THAT WE STILL GO THERE!

WE HAVE USED THIS SWAN'S SEVERAL TIMES FOR DRY CLEANING AND SPECIAL LAUNDRY ITEMS. THEY ARE ALWAYS COURTEOUS AND FAST, FOLLOW DIRECTIONS, AND ITEMS ARE DONE WHEN PROMISED.

I'M A FREQUENT CUSTOMER, AND THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND KNOW AND ADDRESS ME BY NAME. I USE THE EXPRESS BAG SERVICE, WHICH IS VERY CONVENIENT, AS ARE THE EXTENDED HOURS. THIS LOCATION CAN DO SAME DAY CLEANING, WHICH I USE WITH SOME FREQUENCY. I ALSO USE THE SWAN CARD, WHICH GIVES YOU COUPONS BACK FOR A PERCENTAGE OF YOUR EXPENDITURES. IN APPROXIMATELY 10 YEARS, THEY HAVE DAMAGED TWO ITEMS, AND HAVE NEVER LOST ANYTHING. IN ONE CASE, I WAS REIMBURSED FOR THE ITEM, AND IN THE OTHER, I WAS ADVISED TO RETURN THE ITEM TO THE RETAIL STORE, AS THE GARMENT DIDN'T SURVIVE CLEANING AS PER THE LABEL INSTRUCTIONS. THE ONE EXCEPTION IS SWEATERS WITH SHELL BUTTONS. DESPITE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO WRAP THE BUTTONS, THEY ARE FREQUENTLY CHIPPED AND BROKEN. SWAN REIMBURSES ME THE COST OF PURCHASING REPLACEMENT BUTTONS AND SEWS THEM ON AT NO CHARGE. PRIOR TO USING SWAN, I WAS A REGULAR AT TWO OTHER DRY CLEANERS, AND HAVE BEEN HAPPIER HERE LONGEST.

AFTER NEARLY TEN YEARS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE CONVENIENCE OF HAVING MY ALTERATIONS DONE AT THE DRY CLEANER, I FOUND THAT IT'S MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE AND HIGHER QUALITY GOING TO A SHOP THAT SPECIALIZES IN ALTERATIONS. I WAS HAPPIER WITH THE SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION WHEN THEY HAD A SEAMSTRESS ON SITE, AND I COULD TRY ON CLOTHES FOR THEM TO MEASURE. I HAVE CONTINUED TO DO SOME HEMS AND ELASTIC REPLACEMENT AT THIS LOCATION WHEN I'M ALSO HAVING THE ITEM CLEANED. IT'S COMPARATIVELY EXPENSIVE, AND DOESN'T LAST AS LONG. FOR MORE SOPHISTICATED ALTERATIONS, I HAVE BEEN GOING TO MARIE'S ALTERATIONS AT MOUND AND CENTRAL. SHE PROVIDES GOOD SERVICE AND HAS WORKED WITH ME WHILE I LOST WEIGHT TO REFIT PROFESSIONAL CLOTHING IN WHICH I'VE MADE SIGNIFICANT INVESTMENT.

REP. AT COUNTER WAS NOT ABLE TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS REGARDING SERVICES. SHE RANG ME UP AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT PRICE QUOTES BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T FIND SOMETHING THAT FIT WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SIMPLE REQUEST. SHE SUGGESTED I HAVE MY ALREADY CLEAN SHIRTS RE-CLEANED BECAUSE IT WAS CHEAPER TO HAVE THEM PRESSED THAT WAY. IT WOULD ALSO TAKE A FULL WEEK TO GET THEM BACK. FINALLY AFTER ABOUT 5 DIFFERENT PRICE STRATEGIES SHE GAVE ME WHAT I ORIGINALLY REQUESTED. THE SHIRTS COST MORE TO BE ONLY PRESSED THAN TO BE SENT OUT CLEANED AND PRESSED. I FEEL THE PRICE IS HIGH GIVEN THAT IT WAS AFTER A 20% PRE PAY DISCOUNT. I CHOSE THIS PLACE BECAUSE OF THE CONVIENCE TO MY WORK. I WILL NOT GO BACK THOUGH.

VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS, AND FINISHED THE WORK QUICKLY. BUT THE PRICES ARE HIGH, AND SMELLED OF THE CLEANING FLUID.
