I purchased gas logs and had them installed. They were very helpful and great to work with. Very neat in my home.

I visited the showroom with a list of questions and limited knowledge. The sales person was patient answering all of my questions and showing me options along with "do's and don'ts". I went home with new ideas to think about and a schematic of how to measure my existing fireplace for logs. We thought that the fireplace had been gas at one time but was converted to a traditional woodburning unit. We were not sure of the integrity or existence of gas plumbing. I returned to the store, measurements in hand and spoke to a salesman regarding the purchase and installment. Who know there were so many choices of logs and burn patterns? The installation went smoothly and as it turned out there was gas plumbing and it met code. Therefore, we did not have the expense of running gas pipes. He installed the logs, gave me a tutorial on operation and left me with a quick tip instruction sheet on lighting the logs. I have a beautiful fire in my fireplace and no mess!

I was nervous about using the gas fireplace as this was my first dealing with one and it is a very old home. Eric showed up as scheduled with a new trainee. They were very polite taking care not to get anything dirty. The first checked for any soot all around the fireplace and inside. Then check for proper ventilation. Checked all the gas lines for leaks. Cleaned up the whole area and made it look 100% better. They explained everything as they went and I feel much more comfortable with my gas fireplace. I would definitely recommend and use again!

The wait for service was almost two weeks due to needing service in the busy season. The service man arrived at the appointed time, quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired. The fault was in the sensor that detects whether the glass front is in place.

The person who came to the house was very professional. He took some time to evaluate our situation before he decided how to proceed. A gas line had to be run from one place to another. He told me exactly how he was going to install everything before he started and everything turned out very well!

I was very pleased with the entire process from the initial phone call to the cleanup after the job was completed and everything in between. They were helpful, courteous, and did a great job.

We visited their showroom to look at gas logs. The person we talked with was very knowledgeable and helped us choose a set that is ideally suited to our home. Their installer came out several days later, installed the log set, connected the burner, and explained its operate them. Definitely would recommend this company.

We went to the Indianola address to pick out the logs. It wasn't that easy because there are some lovely logs from which to choose but the sales person made sure we were ordering what we wanted. He didn't pressure us in the least & carefully explained the features on each set we considered as well as showing us how they worked from their fully operational displays. We wanted a remote control (which wasn't cheap), found what we wanted & we set up the appointment. The work was to start at 12:30 & the installer was here right on time. As retirees, we were apprehensive about having someone who appeared so young do gas work on our home. We should have known better. He came into our carpeted home, took off his shoes & proceeded to look at the entire area of work. He was efficient, explained what he was doing as he went along, provided tips & pointers on the gas logs we had purchased, took his time with us answering a barrage of questions & could not have been more polite or responsive. Again, besides being extremely efficient, he was meticulous about the appearance of the logs, gave us all sorts of information about what to expect the first time we used the logs as well as warnings about the care for the logs (but not scary about it). He made certain we understood how the remote operated & when he was done, he hauled away every bit of packing & cardboard & left us with no mess whatsoever. We were so impressed!

It was a very good experience. We had a little problem later on but they came out immediately took care of it. It was more of a brief informatative visit, but they were pleaseant and answered all our questions.

They came out on the day as promised even though it was raining hard. They were able to get under the patio to feed the gas line and did not damage the patio. I could not tell that they put the gasline in my yard. The workers were very good to work with and respectful. The final invoice was as expected. The firepit works great. I have used it more in two weeks since they installed it then I did in a whole year. We are very pleased and highly recommend the Specialty Gas House.

I called Specialty Gas House and spoke to Jared who was extremely knowledgable and courteous. He quoted a price and we scheduled a date and time for our install. I had purchased a vent-free gas log set for our existing fireplace. Eric arrived on time and was very nice and professional. He worked efficiently and explained everything he was doing. We now have a beautiful fireplace that I don't have to clean! I would highly recommend this company!

I was having trouble keeping the pilot light lit in the fireplace for the gas logs. I called Specialty Gas, spoke with Justin about the problem. He was very pleasant and took the time to ask me a few questions trying to figure out what could be going on with the unit.. After assessing the problem, we scheduled an apointment. The technician( Darryl) came to the house exactly at the scheduled time. He introduced himself and upon entering, he removed his shoes and laid down a tarp to protect the floor. He checked everything out , explaining to me what he was checking and what he thought the problem was. As it turned out, there was a bad part that had to be replaced. As luck would have it, Darryl actually had the part with him and was able to replace it right then. I used this company years ago. I felt that they were one of the best then and I feel that they are now as well. It is very difficult today to find companies and employees that take pride in their work, I can assure you this company does.

Very good experience. He also cleaned out the fireplace, added new sand and restacked the logs. Also, gave suggestions on how to improve the draft by trimming the chimney cap. All work completed under two hours.

Our house did not have glass doors on the fireplace. It is woodburning with gas logs. My wife called and talked to the owner. He was very happy to go over all of the options and said to come in and look around. I then went to the store and talked to a sales person and decided to just get some custom glass doors. They scheduled around my wife's calendar and came to measure and helped suggest some colors. The owner also went out of his way to adjust our logs and show us how to light the pilot light. Once the piece arrived, we were able to schedule an install quickly. We couldn't be happier with the service, price, and look of our new doors. I would definitely recommend to others.

Found on Angies list and wish I had not. The great reviews attracted us we did not have such an experience. First this company does things their way only. Customers desires and wants are totally disregarded. I found the owner to be a smart Alec in the way he responded to us. Took forever to get an appointment for them to come measure. Then after a two month wait we get to installation day and they measured wrong. Ended up with not what we expected. The doors did not fit. Tried to schedule an installation appointment around my busy schedule...they will not even consider it. You do things their way only. Young man who installed was a total professional polite and very capable. Finished product was not where near what we anticipated for the finished product. There was a major gap in disparity between what we wanted and described to sales person and what the finished product. We now need to bring in another contractor to get done what we wanted. Based on the outcome, I do not see any value in the transaction, think we over paid. I sure learned some tough lessons in this deal. All I can say is the reviews in no way matched the experience.

Excellent interaction with this company from the time I called for the appointment to the finish of the service. They provided a prompt appointment time that fit my schedule. Eric arrived on time for the appointment, was very friendly and professional. Cleaned, tested and made our fireplace was working well. He took the time to explain the operation and components so I could troubleshoot any future issues. Great service - I highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Specialty Gas House. The showroom staff are very knowledgeable about their product line, and gave us helpful advice/recommendations that resulted in a project that looks great and will function well for a long time. The installer, Eric, did an excellent job. He was very conscientious with details that made the difference between a good and great installation. For example, the inside of our fireplace is painted black, so Eric spray painted the copper tubing and bracket for the door to match the existing black finish. He adjusted the lateral position of the door so that the amount of tile showing between the door and surround legs looked even on each side. He arrived at the stated time, cleaned up, and explained operation of the gas log set to us. In addition, he brought to my attention a problem with the venting of the water heater, which was not part of his job scope, but still a potential safety issue that I had not noticed before. He completed his work in a timely, professional manner, and was pleasant to interact with.

Eric arrived exactly on time for my appointment. My gas lamp had not worked for a couple of years, mostly due to kids constantly running into it and knocking the mantles off, haha. Eric replaced the valve and installed new mantles. He also showed me where to turn off the gas to the lamp only if I ever needed to. Eric was very efficient and thorough. I would recommend Specialty and Gas House based on the service that was provided.

My former plumber recommended them for gas repair work. This gas maintenance work was coordinated with tree stump removal work. It went well with no delays in connecting and disconnecting the copper pipe connection. As it was an old gas light the refurbishing of the look of the gas light was very welcome as well. They did an excellent job. This job entailed two visits several days apart.

When I called Specialty Gas House in October, they told me I had to wait till Noverber 23 before they could come over for the service. And Eric came on time as promised. I really appreciate that because many contractors promised services within two weeks but never came nor called to give any explanations. He cleaned the gas/woodburing fireplace and rearranged the fire logs. He also told me that I don't need to replace my firelogs because the damage was minute,and he showed me how to light the pilot light. All the time he was both courteous and professional.
