Description of Work: We went to the store, had all our questions answered, received a demonstration of the product we purchased, and made a down payment. Our appointment was set for within a few days and I was provided with the name of the person who was coming to install. When installation day arrived, the installer arrived promptly, set to work immediately, was friendly and answered questions. When the installation was complete, it was tested and I was shown how to use it. Everything was cleaned up and taken away. I wish all workers who came to my home were this conscientious. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone.

Description of Work: Smelled gas coming from the gas lighter in my wood burning fireplace. They fixed the leak and cleaned the lighter. Very pleased with their service.

Description of Work: We called the company to have our gas direct fireplace inspected and cleaned. The service tech was very friendly and made sure to take his shoes off before entering the house. He put a canvas tarp out in front of the fireplace and cleaned the inside and the glass. The glass had some residue on the outside where the previous owner of the house had had tape or had something hit the glass that scorched onto the glass. I was a little disappointed that the technician did not take the time to completely clean it off and instead told me that I could use a razor to get it off. We had to ask him if he inspected the gas line, which he then offered to do(I would have thought this would be part of the inspection). Overall he was only here for 25 minutes and it seems he could have done more to inspect(never checked the vent outside to make sure it was clean). For the amount we paid, I was not impressed with the thoroughness of the job.

Description of Work: They came out and ran a gas line - we are converting our electric cooktop to gas. ($250) Haven't used our gas fireplace for a few years due to turning off the gas to it because of a leak. They cleaned up the logs and fireplace and fixed the leak ($110), put in a part that is needed for using propane ($30) that was never on there to begin with and should have been. He also noticed that our cooktop was set up for 220 volt power but suggested we check out our new gas cooktop as it may need 110 volt. He was right, so we got the electrician called and in before our new countertop and cooktop were put in place. He saved us from a big headache and probably a week without a cooktop! We'd definitely use them again.

Description of Work: We have a freestanding gas burning fireplace. The pilot would not stay lit. We called the company we purchased the stove from, they sent out a technician and he couldn't fix it - suggested we might have to buy a new stove. Call the Gas House, they sent a tech the same day and he had the stove repaired in about 45 minutes.

Description of Work: We're the second owners of this house and couldn't get the gas fireplace to light. There had been some rain water that had leaked down the chimney and we were sure that it had probably ruined the inner workings of the unit. I found Specialty Gas House here on Angie's List and after reading all of the positive reports, decided to give them a try. We were so sure that they were going to come out and tell us our fireplace was DOA and that we would just have to replace the whole thing. However, Eric came out to take a look and after one hour and him taking the whole guts apart and thoroughly cleaning out all the jets and pilot etc...WE HAVE FIRE! We are absolutely thrilled to be able to use our fireplace now and so glad it only cost about $100 instead of having to shell out $1000's to replace the whole thing. Eric was awesome, friendly, fast and cleaned up everything after.
