I wanted a gas lamp removed from my front yard. I was not using it and am not planning on ever using it. Specialty Gas removed the lamp, took all of the pieces with them, and also capped off the gas line in the house. I am very happy with this company. I have also used them to fix a gas leak with my dryer.

I called thinking I needed a service call on my gas fireplace; however, after talking with the gentleman, he advised me that I didn't need to spend the money. My unit is working as usual and provided some great ideas on resolving what issues i feel I have (soot buildup, uneven flame, etc.). I will definitely use a company that doesn't take advantage of an uneducated home owner just for some money! So refreshing to have honesty in this type of situation! Thank you!

The technician arrived before the actual appointment time which was great. He found the problem quickly (a disconnected wire) and fixed it efficiently. He was very courteous and friendly, but stayed on task. He made sure the firebox was clean and refreshed the items that make the whole fire/fireplace appear more realistic. We will not hesitate to do business with Specialty Gas services in the future should the need arise. GREAT JOB!

For the past ten years I have been going to Specialty for my propane gas refill. They have always provided professional service at a good price. I would recommend them to anyone needing propane.

I am writing to enthusiastically recommend Specialty Gas House. I employed them to fix a nonfunctioning gas log fireplace. Eric (the technician) was very polite and knowledgeable. He came when scheduled (actually 5 minutes early) and called both the day before the appointment and 30 minutes before he arrived. When he arrived he took off his shoes and put down a tarp. He left the fireplace sparkling clean and looking brand new. The cost was quite reasonable and the work was excellent.

They take care of it. They also take care of my gas lights. I go back to them because they are the only ones who do it. I have had Rob do work for me since 1990. I have male dogs who like to pee on the regular light poles in the backyard. He got me stainless steel light poles for the backyard; all they affect is the copper underneath now. They don't seem to bother the one that's in the brick patio. About once every few years, we have to change about six inches of copper. It isn't that big of a deal. He is really easy to work with. The crew is great. I have known him since he was just an installer for the people who used to own the place. He is really easy to work with.

They have great customer service and insisted on putting everything together to make sure it works correctly. I think the world of them and I will definitely continue to use them. They are the only ones I use! If I moved away, I would drive back just to use them.

We had an in-line gas pipe valve in our basement which leaked when opened. The service manager scheduled a service call for the next day at 3:30 to 4:00 PM. The repairman was not able to meet the appointment due to unforeseen complications at the previous appointment, but he did call well ahead of time to inform me that he would be about an hour late. He eventually arrived within the time he had stated. I explained the problem and he was able to confirm the problem and fix the valve very quickly.I had also stated that sometime last year I suspected a small gas leak around my natural gas grill out on the patio. Even though I could smell no gas recently, it still made me nervous. He did a thorough check, including a pressure check on the line, and concluded that there was no leak. (Now that I think about it, I was probably smelling gas from that leaky valve inside migrating through the nearby dryer vent.) He was professional, personable, efficient, and seemed to have several years of experience. I will definitely call Specialty Gas Services again if I ever have any gas line problems in the future.

We were very pleased with his care of our home - in spreading drop cloths and his explanation of what he was doing.

They were very responsive and gave detailed information over the phone. When the guys showed up they were very courteous and cleaned everything up after they were finished. Their estimate was half of what other providers had quoted us for the same service.

It went great! I visited their store and spoke with Rob. He walked me through how the logs worked, differences between types and took time answering all of my questions. While the listed prices on the log sets were higher than Lowes and Home Depot, I found them to look more realistic and worth the difference. Adam installed the logs. He came right on time and the installation was smooth . He made sure to keep everything neat. I had no clean-up after he was done. I also had a remote control starter installed and he took the time to explain the operation to me, as well as walking me through the process. I would highly suggest to include remote starter with log purchase. It is extra, but well worth it!

They were the ones who had the lowest price on offer after I body shopped around. They did an excellent job with the installation, and they cleaned up after themselves. They just did a good job. I would recommend them.

The valve for the propane line to our gas fireplace was leaking whenever the handle was moved. We called Specialty Gas to repair or replace the valve. The tech arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and got right to work. He completed the work in less than an hour and was on his way

I had chosen Specialty Gas since they were willing to complete the job before the holidays and they were the lowest priced at $250.00. Naturally, the low price was escalated to $305 upon arrival. (Invoice $9236) This $55 increase was due to the plumbing code requirement that requires Corrugated Stainless Steel Tube (CSST) to be 'bonded and grounded'. To be honest, I was surprised that a house built in 2003 did not already contain this requirement. Nonetheless, I agreed to have this ground wire installed. Otherwise, he would not be permitted to install the gas line and I would stuck searching for another vendor. However, after measuring the amount of copper wire used (tonight), it actually measured 9 feet, not 19 as billed on the invoice. Wow, how did I miss this?!?! Not only was I over billed for an additional 10 feet of wire, but I had failed to actually check the amount used before I paid. Shame on me. More troubling, the installer broke my son's heirloom Halloween candy dish when he attempted to install the gas line (see pic). Next, the installer managed to cut one of the security system lines and then had the gumption to ask me for a piece of electrical tape to fix it (see pic). Really?!?! Out of all the tools in your truck, you couldn't locate any electrical tape? Pathetic. Finally, I was left to clean up the saw dust shavings from the installation. Apparently his truck didn't contain a broom and dustpan either. I'm aware that this company holds an A rating with Angies LIst and I'm really surprised that I received this type of service from such a highly rated company. However, full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order for this installer. I expected to be compensated for my strife in the amount of $125 ($75 clean up/wire repair fee, $26.10 for over billed ground wire and $23.90 for the heirloom candy dish). If you need an invoice for accounting purposes, please let me know and I will submit immediately.

They told us what part we would need for our grill. And we fixed our home grill. I give them and A grade overall. I would use them again in the future.

Scheduling was prompt and the service techinician was punctual and polite. Repair was completed quickly, estimate was exactly the cost. Provided necessary documentation confirming that the leak was repaired so that I could provide to the Energy Auditors to receive rebate.

Was very impressed with Rob and the product itself. We had some issues with the service person who installed them. I spoke to Rob about these issues, not to complain but to let him know so he could take corrective action. He thanked me profusely. Later that day, he called me back to tell me the matter had been addressed and thanked me again for letting him know. Rob takes his work very seriously and puts an emphasis on customer service.

Great experience from start to finish. We stopped in to the store to pick out the log set we wanted. Robert was very accommodating and very knowledgeable. We ordered and, when the system was delivered to the shop, Robert called and we scheduled the install. The installer arrived as scheduled and began by removing the old log set that had been unused since we bought the house, so for at least 9 years. When the installer cleaned out the old gravel, he noticed that there appeared to be some evidence of a water leak in the old firebox. He suggested, and I agreed, that we delay installation until I had a mason come out and assess the leakage issue. After the mason assessed and repaired the leak, Specialty Gas Services returned, completed the installation and showed me how to get the pilot lit and how to use the log set. I was impressed that the installer called the leak to my attention, even though it would complicate his schedule. He could have simply laid in the new gravel and put the new logs in, and I would never have known. That was good customer service. I recommend this company without reservation!

The sevice man arrived on time (actually a little early to our delight). Although he had never seen a fireplace like ours, he went right to work and did a superb job in a very short time. He was very polite and articulate. Overall our experience was above and beyond our expectations. Couldn't have been better.

Went very well. The tech explained the issue clearly and the repair, as well as set clear expectations on how long the repair should last and how we can best care for it, and watch for future problems since it could cause a very dangerous situation if it were to leak again.

WOW! After four years of trying to get the company that installed our gas log fireplace to come out and look at the remote starter with no response, we finally started searching and found specialty Gas Services (thanks to Angie's List)...what a terrific company! We live about 35 miles from Columbus, and were told that an additional service charge would apply prior to setting the appointment. The appointment was between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. on a Tuesday evening. At 5:00, the technician called to say he was going to be later due to another appointment running long and to expect him between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. - which was fine. At 6:50, he called to say he would arrive at 7:05 and he did. We truly appreciated the calls! He was thorough, clean and professional. He explained everything about our fireplace, which we've had since 1995. We expected to replace the unit, but it wasn't necessary. He cleaned the entire unit. We always cleaned the area under the unit, but were never told that it should be serviced every two years...go figure. The remote turned out to be the issue, as we hoped it would be. The technician (Eric - great guy!) replaced the remote starter and, instead of spending $2,000.00, we spent only $245.00 for the call and the starter. We will call them for everything we need going forward. They are wonderful!
