Stacy Perkin used 2 inch trim to finish the woodwork when the rest of the house has 3 inch trim or wider. The trim that he removed was new trim, and he just left it all (with the nails in it) lying in our garage. He left holes/dents in my wallpaper.  There is putty on the floors. The wood around the cold air return is always falling down. Everything he did is poor quality. He wasn't even a nice person.

The original estimate he gave me was illegible and on a scrap piece of paper. He lied and told me that he had to stain the trim, when in fact the trim was purchased pre-stained. I foolishly gave him the check in advance for supplies.

He was here for maybe 5 hours over a 2 month period and charged me close to $1000. He doubled the price on the wood. He charged us $130 for a small piece of piping and glue. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone.

Stacey was on time for the appointment to make an estimate. His inspection of the damage was thorough. His estimate was about $500 below estimates from other companies. He and his assistant were on time to start work, with all the materials they would need for the job. It was a dirty job,working with rotted wood over a dirt floor under the work site, but Stacey kept the dirt contained and away from the rest of the house. He worked efficiently, although he did have to re-cut some support pieces, mainly because nothing is plumb or square in this old house. He used treated wood in all support pieces.He jacked the supported wall up, but as little as possible to avoid cracking the lath and plaster walls above his work site. Stacey finished the job a few minutes earlier than planned. He used the time to inspect the next job the house will need new windows on the first floor. We will definitely use SBM again.
