If I could leave a half star, I would. I've been a customer for decades, had commercial accts, multiple addresses and had good service. Moved to current address and service on this route is atrocious, simply pathetic! In 3yrs, I've had to call 6 times because of the pathetic collection on a simple single residence. Spoke to the neighbors, they all agree and dealt with it for years. The cans are often thrown in front of my neighbors driveway 60 ft a way, if they do collect it(6 times they have not) wish I had a job that I could consistently fail at with ZERO repercussion. I'm switching to some other service and will be advising my neighbors to do so also.

Rumpke has not been out to pick up my trash in 5 weeks. I have called multiple times and although they say they will send someone out they never do. Terrible service, would highly recommend not using them!!

Rumpke has failed to pick up my trash for 3 weeks in a row . When I call to complain, they say that they will send a special pickup person that handles missed collections within 24 to 48 hours this is a lie. They will take your money but will not give you any service

Rumpke has been overcharging me since April. They said that the person picking up the trash noted two trash cans. I have never had two trash cans from them so they obviously had the wrong address. They have been charging me the rental of 10.50 for six months for the second can and I haven't noticed it until now. Called them and was treated very rude and told they needed to verify that I didn't have two cans. Really? Do you have any record of me ordering a second can from you? NO. So then why are you charging me the rental for the second can. In addition, they are constantly missing the yard pickups.

Over all the Rumpke service was poor and expensive compared to other vendors.  Rumpke charges an extra $10 for bulk pick up which others don't.  If you end your service early they will not refund the remaining balance of your 3 month payment.  There are better and more reliable vendors out there, I would highly recommend using someone else.

We cut down an overgrown shrub from our yard into manageable pieces and put it on the tree lawn to be collected with our trash. We have done this same thing in the past and the yard waste was collected. On Tuesday, October 14th, the yard waste was put out to be collected. Rumpke collected the trash from the can but didn't touch the yard waste. I called Rumpke before 9:00 am to inquire about why it wasn't collected. The customer service person that I talked to asked if the pieces were larger than 4 feet long. The pieces were not longer than 4 feet. She told me that they should have been collected and that she would get in touch with the driver to see if there was some other reason it was not collected. She told me that they may be able to come back that day to collect it and that she would call me back if something else needed to be done to prepare the yard waste for pick-up. I never heard a word and they never picked up the yard waste. On Tuesday, October 21st, Rumpke came again and collected my trash but didn't even look at or touch the yard waste. I called Rumpke again to inquire about why the yard waste wasn't collected if I never heard back from them. A different customer service person looked-up my file and told me that the driver never responded to the message left about my yard waste from the previous week. He told me again the pieces of shrub should not be longer than 4 feet (they weren't!), that he would contact the driver and that either the yard waste would be picked-up that day, the driver would contact me or he would contact me. If not, I was to call back the next day (today, October 22nd). This morning, the yard waste was still there and I had never received a phone call. I called Rumpke for the third time to inquire why they weren't following through. The customer service person told me that for some reason the dispatcher didn't send out the message to the driver until the very end of the day, even though I had called before 9 am and that the driver hadn't had a chance to respond and that someone probably would have called me today to tell me that the yard waste needed to be bundled, that was their strict policy. Why did it take more than a week and three phone calls to Rumpke for someone to tell me that? I would have happily bundled the yard waste last week so that they could have taken it yesterday. Now they won't come and get it for another week. But they won't be coming to get it because I cancelled my service. I would like to point out that I called three different trash collection companies for quotes and every one of them told me that yard waste should be bundled. I feel that there is a lack of consistency between drivers, dispatchers and customer service agents.

The driver of the truck got out and walk to back of the truck. He did the damage when he walked back to the front of the truck and created three foot prints in my new seed and new top soil then got back into the truck and left. The foot prints were about an inch and a half deep. I called the supervisor and they admitted they did do this after coming out and looking at the damage and talking to his drivers, which they admitted doing this as well. Although they were apologetic, they were not willing to compensate me in any way for the damage. Now I have to spend about 35.00 to fix the damage in materials not including my time which I'll have to spend fixing the damage.

"Thank you for allowing Rumpke an opportunity to respond to Case ID 55009. We take situations like this very seriously. On June 19, 2014, we received a complaint from (Member name removed) about damage to his yard. The residence in question (addressed removed) is part of a municipal contract for the Village of Northfield. Through a contractual agreement, Rumpke provides trash and recycling service for all residences in Northfield. Rumpke's operations manager visited the residence on the same day (June 19, 2014) to investigate the incident. Upon review, he determined the damage in question occurred through the normal course of trash collection. In order for service to be performed, our employees need safe and reasonable access to our customer's trash, and we believe our employee did not do anything unusual to cause damage. The area in question was not marked or cordoned off in any way. Rumpke's operations manager contacted the Village of Northfield's Department of Public Service Superintendent about the situation. The Village Superintendent agreed with Rumpke's assessment to deny the request for repair or reimbursement. He also indicated that any future issues involving (Member name removed) should be directed to the Village of Northfield. For these reasons, Rumpke denies the request for reimbursement."

My yard waste was at my curb by 7am. It was not collected. I live in the back of my sub division so I figured it was just a miss. I called Rumpke and was told it would be collected on Friday. Friday comes and goes and still no collection. I call again and was told that yesterday a 'reminder' was issued - today they would write up a service ticket and the waste would be collected on Saturday. Today is Saturday and no collection. I called and find that Rumpke is closed!! So the yard waste remains on the curb and the bad taste I have for being lied to by this provider continues.

I wish I had the option to have my waste collected by some other more reputable firm.

There is nothing spectacular about their service. They are pretty punctual and pick up the garbage the same day, every week.
