The carpenter who was the subcontractor of RMC Construction & Handyman Services backed out. So I couldn?t get the job done. The owner seemed very straightforward and honest. He was having trouble communicating with his subcontractor since the subcontractor wasn?t returning his calls in a timely manner.

Rick installed four baby gates in my home. Product reviews on the gates had indicated installation could be difficult if the home has baseboards, so I wanted a handyman to do the job. I had found "baby gate installation kits" online that solved the baseboard problem, but purchasing these kits would have cost me around $80 for a few pieces of wood and some hardware. Rick bought the same materials at a local hardware store for around $10. After installing the gates, Rick noticed that the ends of the screws were exposed, so he cut them off so the sharp points would not pose a hazard. He also replaced a broken part on another baby gate since I had trouble removing the broken piece myself. He installed a cat door in the door leading to the basement. After re-hanging the door and testing it, he discovered that the bottom portion of the cat door dragged on the rug when the basement door was opened. Rick took the extra time to reposition the cat door properly and re-caulk around the opening. Finally, Rick repaired a cabinet door that my son had stepped on, tearing the brackets out of place. He fixed the door in a matter of minutes.
