Rite Rug Flooring

Rite Rug was paid 1400$ in advance to install laminate wood flooring in a family room. Two employees showed up on Dec. 1, 2016 to install flooring. During the installation, the installer broke the gas line to the fireplace. The house filled up with gas. The installer indicated he did not smell the gas and that there was no problem and I should not be alarmed. The entire house smelled of gas. I called Columbia Gas and they indicated I needed to evacuate the premise, including my 2 cats and German Shepherd. It was a very cold day. Columbia Gas came out and declared a hazard and shut off the main gas valve to house due to excessive amounts of natural gas in the house. Columbia Gas wanted to prevent the house from blowing up. I had to call a plumber to cut and cap the gas line before Columbia Gas would turn on the gas. Rite rug did not finish the job and refuses to come back and install about 10-15 feet of black shoe molding. The customer service at Rite Rug has been totally ineffective, unresponsive, and unsympathetic. I would not recommend them at all. In fact, Rite Rug customer service changed the order # in attempt to hide the problem. Very deceptive and untrustworthy. If I was not home during the installation, my house would have blown up. They have never offered an apology or attempted reach out to us to try to make things right. Two months later, I still do not have a finished floor.

My husband and I (Mike McLaughlin) own a rental property that needs a bathroom remodel. The starting point is the floor. The only reason I went to Rite Rug was because they promised the install would be done on 2/16 if I selected an in stock pattern, which I did. On 2/16, I received a phone call from the Rite Rug salesman who told me that the installation would be done on the 17th. On 2/19, my handyman informed me that the vinyl hasn't been installed yet. I phoned the location to find out what the problem was. I was told that the company's stock of the pattern I picked was defective and that the salesman has been trying to get a hold of me so I could pick another selection. The salesman said he phoned me several times, but there was no voicemail for him to leave me a message. === what a load of crap - my cell phone has voicemail; my cell phone also records who phones even if they don't leave a message, and finally, the salesman also had my email address.  Bottom line - I have a tenant moving into this property in a few days and bathroom remodel isn't complete because Rite Rug failed to act like a responsible business. This delay has put me in a financial bind. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!
