RICHMOND & SON STUCCO PAINTING & REPAIR

After leaving a message, they returned my call to schedule an appoint. However, they never showed up for the appointment a few days later. Now I can't get any response from them.

I reluctantly submit this negative report, as I used them earlier this year and was very happy with them (see my 3/23/2010 report). On 9/2/10, I signed a contract with them to paint the trim on my screened porch (a small job). I think at the time they said they could get to it in about 10 days or so. Around 9/17/10, they left a voice message that said they would be out the 20th or 21st to do it. That came and went and they did not come out, nor call. I left a message for them on the 22nd or 23rd and did not hear back. I again left a message for them on the 29th saying to cancel the job if they could not get back to me in 24 hours ? it?s now 10/4/10 and I haven?t heard from them. Additionally, I?ve now gotten two new prices and both were less than half what Richmond & Son was asking. Again, I reluctantly submit this report as I was very happy with the job (and price) they did previously. From my read of them, they did not seem like people who would do this. Perhaps there are some circumstances unknown to me that might explain??

I was very pleased with the work done by this father and son team -- they are honest and easy to work with. They quickly responded to my request for an estimate and started the work promptly. They did a great job, taking no shortcuts. The cedar trim was first bleached to prepare it, the downspouts were removed to stain under and the wood was so dry that in a number of spots they put on 3 coats of stain. They used 10 gallons of Clorox to clean off the algae and mold and the results were dramatic -- we're putting the house up for sale and they vastly improved its curb appeal. Without additional cost (and at their suggestion) they also bleached the sidewalk and painted the exterior door. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend them.

They showed up on the day that they said they would and powerwashed the house. They bleached any places that there appeared to be mold. On top of that they bleached my covered front porch and my patio in the back making them look really nice. The estimate was for powerwash and paint. They went above and beyond by caulking where it was needed, and they even patched the stucco in a few places that needed it. They took my downspouts down and completely painted them. My last contractor did not do that, they were still painted brown on the back sides, and the wood behind them had not been painted. In some areas the trim was really dry and they put 3 coats of paint on it. This was all done with a brush, no paint spraying at all. They cleaned up after themselves every day and were careful about my perrenial plants around the outside of the house. My husband and I are very pleased with this job. The house looks great. We paid $1400.00 to have this done 12 years ago. I think those people charged way too much then and didn't do near the job Danny and son did.

This was the first time we had used their services. It was wonderful. They were extremely affordable, did a traditional three coat stucco and had no problem matching the existing pattern on the house. They are a two man team so it takes a little longer but it is well worth it.
