Radon Systems

We found out our neighbor was installing a radon system, so we thought we should have our levels checked as well. So we sent our test into a lab, and found our levels exceeded the appropriate standards, so we contacted Radon Systems and they came out right away and gave us an estimate. Dan West was easy going and friendly, (absolutely no pressure). After we installed the proper type of sump pump the installation went smoothly and are happy with the results.

They were very accommodating when I asked them to come for an estimate, they came before I left for work so that I didn't have to miss any time on the job. They were on time to do the job, were in and out and cleaned everything up.

Radon Systems came out and look the situation over and provided estimate. My basement floor had a 1/2'' gap around the perimeter which needed to be caulked. They needed me to move everything away from the walls 3'for access, which just wasn't possible. So, I caulked the basement myself. The exterior vent pipe needed to be run up the side of the house to above the roof line. My old house had a difficult roof detail to work around and I wanted the pipe to be run as close to the house as possible to reduce visibility. I ended up installing that pipe myself as well. Once those 2 things were finished Radon Systems came out and installed the reduction system. The work inside the house was neat and clean. The fan mounted outside the house however was installed crooked and the connecting pipes were not parrallel to the house. Otherwise the installation was fine. Our radon levels went from 6.3 to .3, so the system is working great.

Prompt, friendly, neat. They gave us options on installing the vent system. We were worried about the appearance on outside of house, as well as the mess on the inside. We shouldn't have. They installed the inside with no mess and the exterior looked great. We would highly recommend this company.

We had a radon test done. We previously (3 years ago) had a system placed by them in our basement for mitigation. This company is always professional and knowledgeable, superior service. We have never had any problems with them, excellent company.

I am most impressed with the level of service that I received from Radon Systems. I had an exterior fan installed several months ago, which at the time I didn't realize wasn't suppose to make as much noise as it did. I finally called them a few weeks ago and they came right out and replaced it the next day. Now it is very quiet. No hassle. They just took care of it. Now that's a good company.

Although price seemed reasonable, I was extremely dissatisfied. The rep was unwilling to explain the different options for how to address the radon problem. He simply proposed one system and would not tell me if there were any other possible options and/or why the proposed system was the best. He just kept saying that this was the type of system he would choose, this would give the best ''bang for the buck'' and that it would take too long to explain all the other options. Ensuring that radon is reduced as much as possible is very important to me due to personal reasons. I want the most effective system and am not as concerned with price. So I wanted to know whether there were any other options for addressing the problem in this house, regardless of price. He simply would not engage in this discussion and treated me in a very condescending manner. Before this experience I had been pretty certain I would use this company but now I am strongly considering using a different company.

Work was completed on time and as promised. The installers did a good job but could have cleaned up debris a little bit better than what they did.

It went okay. We were satisfied. The guys were nice.

Fair. The design of the new sump cover is impractical. The sump lid is sealed with silicone caulk that must be replaced every time the sump pump is tested.

Radon Systems was very easy to deal with and on-time with their appointments. Dan West responded to all of my questions and concerns about location of the pipe and the fan. It was installed in the garage attic, which reduced noise. The installer, Brian, did a great job. He is very accommodating.

We are selling our home and moving out of state. Our home was tested for radon by the buyer during the home inspection. It was found to have radon in the basement. We called Radon Systems, and they had someone come out the very next day to give me an estimate. They came when they said they would, and were able to schedule me for an installation the very next day. The installation crew was also on time and finished quickly. They made the process very smooth for me. Before the system installation the radon level was 9.3 pCi/l, after the system was installed it was reduced to .3 pCi/l. They also gave me a 5% Angie's List discount.

Everyone involved (estimator and testor, installers and electrician)reported at the prearranged times, work was performed within the time frame that they said it would take. Clean up was good. Company said they would call prior to all visits which they did. Everyone was courteous. I would recommend them to others. The company rep did not know at what age their senior discount was effective.

Work done promptly with no apparent problems. Radon reduction to well under 1.0. The crew was pleasant and courteous. My wife and I are very pleased.

CHECK-VALVE WAS INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN PREVENTING THE SUMP PUMP FROM WORKING WHICH CAUSED WATER BACK-UP DAMAGE TO OUR HOME. THERE ARE VISIBLE ARROWS ON THE VALVE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN POINTING UP, BUT WERE POINTING DOWN. THE MISTAKE IS NOT THE ISSUE. BUT, THEY ARE TRYING TO BULLY US IN THE WAY THEY WANT US TO HANDLE THE CLAIM. THEY TOLD US WE NEEDED TO FILE THE INSURANCE CLAIM EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR FAULT. OWNER, DAN WEST, WAS VERY INAPPROPRIATE TOWARD US VERBALLY ON THE PHONE ONCE HE DISCOVERED WE WERE FILING A CLAIM THROUGH HIS LIABILITY INSURANCE. TECHNICIANS WERE FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS.

Asked about the Angie's List discount, and they have one even though it's not in the coupon list. They are quick, professional, quiet, and cleaned up after themselves. They were even nice to the dog, who kept getting in their way. I would cheerfully recommend Radon Systems to anyone.

This was a particularly difficult mitigation, because of a finished basement, and the location of the lower level walkout. Radon Systems had to make repeated visits to complete the mitigation. They were prompt and courteous throughout this extended process of correction, detection, further correction, etc. They guarantee their contract work will bring the radon levels down below acceptable norms. Any repeat visits or additional work or equipment is conducted without an additional cost burden to the homeowner. They demonstrated their commitment to their guarantee on this project which required frequent follow-up and heavier grade mitigation equipment. They were GREAT!

THE CREW AND PHONE PERSONNEL WERE ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND WORKED QUICKLY. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH MY NEW SYSTEM.

BRAD WAS PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY & KNOWLEDGEABLE. QUOTE WAS FOR $875. INCLUDING FOLLOW UP RADON TEST. THIS IS THE HIGHEST QUOTE I HAVE RECEIVED BUT I DON'T THINK IT'S UNREASONABLE. SPENT TIME EXPLAINING SYSTEM TO ME AND EXAMINING AREA WHERE SYSTEM WOULD BE INSTALLED. WE STILL HAVEN'T DECIDED WHICH COMPANY TO CHOOSE FOR THE RADON MITIGATION BUT I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVE RADON SYSTEMS WORK IN MY HOME.

THEY CAME OUT AND DESCRIBED THE KIND OF SYSTEM THEY WOULD INSTALL FOR OUR HOUSE AND GAVE AN ESTIMATE. THE INSTALLATION GUYS WERE COURTEOUS AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES WELL. THEY DID A ONE WEEK TEST AFTER INSTALLATION TO VERIFY THE SYSTEM REDUCED RADON LEVELS SATISFACTORILY BEFORE INVOICING US. THE SYSTEM REDUCED LEVELS TO LESS THAN 1 AND IS RELATIVELY QUIET AND INCONSPICUOUS.

BRAD DID A GREAT JOB EXPLAINING WHAT WAS NEEDED AND HOW THEY WOULD DO THE WORK. THE TECHNICIANS WERE COMPETENT AND PROFESSIONAL - THEY EVEN IDENTIFIED A FOUNDATION ISSUE THAT THEY OBSERVED BEHIND THE INSULATION, SO THAT I COULD GET SOMEBODY OUT TO LOOK AT IT. THE PRICE WAS SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN OTHERS, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT TO GET HIGH QUALITY WORK.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WERE ON TIME.

ON TIME, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND REASONABLY PRICED. VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE PROCESS AND GAVE THOROUGH EXPLANATIONS OF WHAT WOULD BE NEEDED AND GAVE A DIAGRAM/DRAWING OF THE WORK TO BE CONDUCTED. THIS WAS IN CONNECTION WITH SELLING OUR HOUSE SO WE DIDN'T HAVE THE WORK DONE, BUT WOULD HAVE FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THEM DOING THE WORK IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER.

THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT ARE CHEAPER, BUT THE PROFESSIONALISM AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL OF RADON SYSTEMS ARE WORTH THE ADDED COST. IT WAS THE ESTIMATE BY BRAD ROEBUCK THAT IMPRESSED ME THE MOST. HE LOOKED CARFULLY AT BOTH THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE AND DREW UP A PLAN FOR INSTALLING A MITIGATION SYSTEM. FOR MANY OLDER HOMES AND SOME NEWER HOMES, THE COOKBOOK APPROACH TO RADON MITIGATION MIGHT NOT BE SUCCESSFUL.
