I ordered bulk Top Soil from Ohio Mulch based on the pictures and description of top soil on their website. When they delivered it, I noticed immediately that it did not look correct, in fact it looked almost exactly like the mulch that I also ordered from them. I took pictures of the "mulch soil" that they delivered and to date, I have called Ohio Mulch 6 times, reaching a person on 4 occasions. On every call, their customer service rep told me that they would escalate my problem to a manager and never once did I get a return phone call. They train their employees to respond to this issue as it must be a common complaint as they all said "Ohio Mulch top soil looks a lot like our mulch due to its premium blend". The fact is it looks nothing like their pictures on the Ohio Mulch website and I have been working with mulch and soil for over 50 years now and can assure you that the Ohio Mulch "top soil" was not even a member of the dirt family. Their product is bad and their customer service is worse. Please beware of Ohio Mulch bait and switch and I encourage you to go elsewhere for top soil.

Do not place an order for delivery. My 6/8 order is not here yet and it's now 1:10 pm on 6/9. And good luck calling. 30 minutes on hold with two (and counting) disconnections. Can't get through to the location where my delivery is supposed to be coming from and Customer Service is useless. First and last order from this company.

This company is an absolute nightmare to work with. I ordered 70 bags of mulch online at the beginning of May for delivery on Monday, May 22nd. The mulch did not deliver with zero communication from the company. I called and emailed Monday and Tuesday without response. I received a call Wednesday inaccurately stating that my order was planned to be delivered Wednesday, but was being pushed to Friday. After noting the order was due to be delivered Monday, I was informed my order was "at the top of the pile" and would delivery by end of day. When the order didn't deliver by Thursday, I was told no shipments were going out that day and it would delivery Friday. Friday afternoon when I called, I was told the order was either on a truck to be delivered that day or lost as it was not in the store. No delivery Friday with no correspondence. Saturday- after waiting on hold, I was disconnected multiple times by the store without getting a hold of anyone. After calling corporate I was met with a frustrated representative that said this was happening all day to MANY customers and he would connect me directly with management- transferring me to the manager, Ron's full voicemail. Leaving me disconnected without anyone to talk with or confirm my order after the order had already been fully paid for. It wasn't until I physically drove to the store and speaking with a team member and waiting for them to look into my order with me waiting in person did we get the delivery. Still zero response for the horrible customer service or 5 day delay in the pre-paid delivery.

I was shocked by my experience at the Lancaster store and with Ron the manager. I ordered 15yrds of topsoil for delivery on Saturday. I had the day carved out for planting grass. At about 4pm, I had not received the delivery or any communication, so I called the store and they told me it would be there by 7pm that evening. It still never came and no one communicated with me. On Monday, I called again to either cancel my order or talk with a manager to give them a chance to make it right. That is when I spoke with Ron. Ron assured me that they would have it to me on Monday and that he would “take care of the delivery fee.” Monday passed and still I did not receive my order as promised by Ron. Monday night, I called Ron again and he tried to make some excuse for why it didn’t show up. He was very short with me, like he was just trying to get me off the phone. I told him I needed to know exactly how much he was going to take off the order at which point he told me that he had applied a $50 off coupon to my order. It was a $750 order so I told him that was not enough for the trouble and time this had caused me and that the least he could do was remove the entire delivery fee of $129 like he had led me to believe in our first call. Again, Ron rushed to get me off the phone telling me that he would take care of me and send me a receipt right away. I never received a receipt. All day Tuesday I tried to contact Ron in order to get the receipt and figure out what I was going to be charged for this order, but he never answered any of my calls. The delivery showed up at 2pm that day and it wasn’t until after the delivery that I called the store and had one of the associates send me the receipt which confirmed that Ron had not removed the delivery fee. Today is Wednesday now and I have tried calling Ron again, but still no answer. I never write reviews because I own restaurants and I understand how terrible it is to get a review and not have an opportunity to make it right. I gave Ron way too many opportunities and he ended up costing me more in my time wasted than the original order. I wish I would have canceled the order and taken my business elsewhere. I will be in the future.

When they delivered the mulch, they just put it in my driveway instead of stacking it on the side of my house which they agreed to do and it was printed on my receipt that they would do that. Called them and Ron Frost called me back an said he would come out and stack them since I recently had back surgery. He never showed and called again. If I knew they would not stack it where I requested, I would not have purchased the 90 bags of mulch. Beware, they are not an honorable company.

We ordered our mulch online and choose the delivery date of Friday, May 4th. My husband scheduled the day off so he could start laying the mulch when it arrived. Thursday we received a call that they were unable to deliver the mulch because they were overbooked and it may be next Wednesday or Thursday, the 9th or 10th. I explained to the gentleman (from the Blacklick location) that was unacceptable and he said he would see what he could do. I then got online and spoke with the live chat person who said that they would "squeeze" us in on Friday as scheduled and that he had a lot of power in the company and could make it happen. As of 6:55 pm on Friday we had no mulch. I called the Blacklick location and spoke with Diane, I think, and she said we would be the first delivery Saturday morning. Nope it didn't happen! I started calling Blacklick and could never get through but I did speak with the manager at the Frost road location who faxed over my name and phone number to the Blacklick office. She said if I didn't receive a call in an hour to call her back. No call so I called her back. They transferred me to the Blacklick location and the individual said our mulch was not on the truck for delivery and she couldn't tell me when it would be there! I asked for the manager, Bob, and of course he wasn't there and wouldn't be there until later. I asked for an adjustment on our account and for hime to call me and guess what, no call. I also called Ron Frost and left a message on Saturday but no return call either. Tim finally called and said my ticket had been misplaced and they didn't have my phone number or address to deliver the mulch. They were able to charge my Visa for the mulch with no problem and we are certainly in their computer since we have purchased mulch from this location for years!! We finally got our mulch. I contacted the live chat on Monday morning since they weren't responding over the weekend and explained what happened. He said he would have Ron call me that day. The call never came. I know they are busy this time of year but their customer service is simply Poor! You can't even call a particular location without being bounced all over the city.If the location is busy you are rerouted to another location. This makes absolutely no sense. We will be looking at another company for mulch next year!!

Delivery truck arrived and was unable to dump the load due to be front loaded. I had to climb into the truck and move a large portion by hand before the truck could dump. After unloading, the driver ran off the driveway and got stuck in the mud with his truck over top of the gravel he had just delivered. Driver had no protocols to deal with the situation. I had to call a towing company and pay the towing fee myself (over $800). Ended up spending $1,300 for $400 of stone, much of which was lost in the process of pulling the truck out of the mud. I've spoken to a representative at Ohio Mulch. To date, I've not been reimbursed for the towing fee.

Four cu.ft. of topsoil was delivered. After topsoil was spread and dirt settled after a light rain, we noticed the topsoil was filled with broken glass and other debris. Over the last 2 weeks I have gathered 10-12 pieces of broken glass each day.

In the end, they offered bags of mulch for a discounted rate.  They were small bags that I could handle, they waived the delivery fee (totally not necessary but much appreciated), and had their men stand on the back of the truck and throw the bags over the fence into my yard.  They were supposed to deliver 190 bags and they delivered 22 extra bags.  They stacked them along the length of the wall so I didn't have to move them as far.  I don't know what else they could have done to make my job easier, and they didn't need to do most of it.  Their sales manager, Ron Frost, got involved to solve my issue, which was a peanuts sized job.  I am so grateful for their EXTRAORDINARY customer service!!

Went badly I have called several people and they refuse to deal with the matter, still trying to get a responce, I will file in small claims cout and TV 6. Travis at the Delaware store was nasty, There was no reason I just need help and I am on garden tour this year.

After I got to the Mason location I was told that they do not carry that topsoil there, I would have to go to Montgomery Rd.  The person also told me that he does not answer the phone there and all calls are transferred to the Montgomery location and this is always happening where people think they are talking to someone at Mason but in reality they are talking to someone at Montgomery Road.  He then told me to call the Montgomery Rd location and tell them about it because they won't listen to him.  He implied that this happens often. When I called the same phone number, Mason's phone number again, I asked to speak to the manager.  He told me that the person I spoke to was new and didn't know any better.  Ohio mulch use to be the go to company that I always went to for all my major gardening needs.  However between never really knowing what location you are talking to and the Hauk Rd location never answering the phone, they have become more of a problem than a solution.  I will never use them again.


What a waste of my morning.

Year after year, this company is just frustrating to deal with. It took 2 days off work and over 25 phone calls to get the order delivered. Don't assume anything if you work with this company. Online orders are not delivered without relentless followup from the customer. Everyone is very nice and wants to be helpful but every single phone call is like starting over from the very beginning. The stores, HQ, and individual employees are completely disconnected.

They are really good. This company has been in the business for like over 50 or 60 years. They are friendly. They did good work. The will bring in mulch to you and question about type of mulch to put down with your sidewalk they sell those type of things too bricks and stones and that sort. Their price was high. I use them all the time.

ordered online and the delivery was on time. this is the 2rd year where they took too many days to pick up the pallet. I am also disappointed as the internet price ($3.99) was more expensive than when I picked the same bags ($3.49) up at the roberts road location. You would think given the negative press around cubic feet in each bag, they would work extra hard to satisfy customers. We won't likely come back a 3rd year.
