Mike was very punctual in returning my phone calls and worked withy schedule to complete the job. I thought he did a very good job navigating to extremely tight space with his mini excavator. I appreciated that he was punctual, clean and worked around my schedule. During the Excavation of the trench we hit some downspout drainage lines which we thought weight. Mike called this out prior to the dig but I authorized him to continue. After I repaired the lines he came back to backfill the trench and had another teamember hand rake some dirt. I would recommend him for any other excavating work I need

He had a challenge getting his equipment into the yard and manipulating it around a tight space with each passing, but was very patient and did not complain. Very good about cleaning up afterwards. I was quite happy with the result, and while it's been several years since the work was done, and I do not remember exactly what he charged, I do remember that it was a fair price at market value.

Mike responded to my message within a few hours of being left and then came out that day to look at the project. He was polite and professional. He answered all my questions. He called me back with an estimate 2 days later and I was able to schedule the gravel parking pad and gravel base for shed project for the following week. Mike's communication was great. He called me Monday afternoon and asked if he could get started early (our original day was Tuesday the next day) and see how far the footers went into the ground. He asked if he could store his excavator on the pad for use the next day. He pulled the footer out all the way around the pad with great skill and did not damage my fence (fence was within a few inches of footer) or my neighbors trailer on his pad right next to mine. My neighbor moved his trailer for the next days work. Mike's skill with the excavator was excellent. He definitely knows what he is doing and does it very well. On Tuesday he came with Terry to help. The two of them were polite and professional. I enjoyed talking with Terry while Mike was dumping the demo waste. They both worked efficiently. While Mike away either dumping concrete waste or getting gravel, Terry and I laid out area for the shed (we had to wait for old shed to be gone to do this). Terry also worked on grading the gravel for shed pad while Mike was gone getting gravel for the parking pad. They cleaned up the alley of the extra gravel and returned everything to how it was before they got there. I would highly recommend O'Neill Excavating for you excavating project.

Our water pressure had diminished over the last ten years we owned the house. The city said we had plenty of head pressure but flow was an issue through the 50+ year old galvanized pipe and told us to replace the pipe. We needed a 60 foot supply line from our house to the street replaced. There are no sidewalks in our part of the neighborhood. We decided to use copper despite the higher price of material. O'Neil had the best price so we went with them. He pulled a 60 foot run of copper pipe from the basement out to the curb through a three by six foot hole in the ground that was dug over the shutoff at the street. His plumber hooked up the line to the interior meter and repaired the concrete block wall. It looks very neat considering they had to jack-hammer part of the wall to replace the line. After everything was hooked up and before the inspector had arrived we went into the house to see how the pressure was. He turned on a tap and it had not changed a bit. Puzzled he went out the street, disconnected everything and waved us out. He showed us our real problem was the flow from the city side. When the inspector arrived he showed the inspector the issue and it was called in for the city to fix. The hole was filled and we waited for the city. A week later the city cleaned out the line in the street and WOW, what a difference. Overall I'm glad I did this. The city originally told us it was our problem to fix. The pipe that was removed would have needed replaced in the next five to ten years so better now on my terms than when the pipe ruptures. I'll be old and grey before this pipe needs replaced again. And most importantly O'Neill was great to work with. I have recommended them to several colleagues. The only thing left to do is re-plant the grass which we'll do this spring.

Mike and Chris were great - after getting the dreaded 6 day notice period from Columbus City Water for a leaking pipe I called Mike immediately. He just did a job for my friend in Clintonville and they came highly recommended. He promptly came to survey the job in the morning after I called and got an estimate to me that same afternoon. I was given two prices; one if they were able to pull the old pipe and remove it in one piece, and one if they had to trench through the front garden and re-route the pipe. His price was right where I wanted it to be and I was surprised that for the trenching option it was only $200 more than if they could pull the old pipe out. Sadly the old pipe snapped when trying to pull it through - but boy were we ALL very persistant in trying!! I was very surprised that the whole job was done in one day - the place looked like an earthquake zone mid-way through. Mike is like a surgeon with the digg machine and was very careful to remove plants with their root ball to preserve. He hired a separate plumber to do the pipe work itself who were great and who I have also left a great report on, and the whole thing was inspected and approved same day by the City of Columbus Water Division before we re-filled the trench and laid the cement back. My tenants had their water back on when they returned from work that same day! Mike even came back to the property a week later when asked to remove some of the excess dirt that didn't settle so that I could refinish the landscaping / grass re-seeding of the area that was excavated. Overall I was very happy with the whole job - it was quite an undertaking and stressfull (for me!) - but Mike and his crew were very professional and put me at ease.

I called Mike on a Wednesday and asked him to come and take a look at what the trouble was. He came out that same afternoon, looked over the problem, quoted me a price and scheduled the repair for Monday. He would have done it earlier but he is required by law to have the "call before you dig" folks come out and mark the location of all underground utilities on my property. They need two days to id the utilities. He came out when he said he would, right on time, quickly repaired the leak, cleaned up and was on his way. Perfect! Mike was very professional and polite-he returned any calls right away and was just a joy to work with. His work was neat and tidy and he and his crew cleaned up the job site nicely. There was minimal damage to my yard even though he brought in heavy equipment to dig the water line out.

Though an unanticipated challenge was encountered removing our old waterline, the job was completed on time, and with little disruption to our property and household. The quality of the work was excellent. I would recommend allowing O'Neill Excavating the opportunity to provide a quote on this type of job.

MIKE O'NEILL DID A GOOD JOB AT BIDDING THE JOB AND AT COMPLETING IT. HE WAS UNABLE TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE THE NIGHT WE TALKED ABOUT, SO HE CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTHWHILE AS HE WAS THE LOWEST OF MY FIVE BIDS. THE WATER DEPARTMENT WORKERS THAT CHECKED MY LINE WERE FAMILIAR WITH HIM AS THEY HAVE SEEN HIM ON MANY JOBS. HE USED A PLUMBER FROM NORTHSIDE PLUMBING TO COMPLETE THIS JOB AND HE DID ALL OF THE EXCAVATION HIMSELF. THE JOB TURNED OUT WELL AND ALL THREE OF THEM WERE PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY AND GOOD TO HAVE ON THIS PROJECT.
