Muetzel Plumbing, Heating & Cooling

This is the second time I have used this company. Everyone they send out is always very competent. There is never an issue they do not know how to handle. Their prices seem a little high but it is worth it for the quality of service they provide. I will use them again when needed.

I called them and made an appointment. They came at the time that was designated for them to come. They were friendly. They were professional and they cleaned up well after themselves.

I originally called Muetzel Plumbing because I saw a brown stain at the bottom of the toilet which appeared to be a leak. The technician replaced the toilet seal (I don't have a copy of this original estimate). A couple of weeks later I noticed there was a new brown stain at the base of the toilet. I called Muetzel Plumbing again. This time the same technician came and said there was a rusty bolt that was dripping on the floor causing the stain. He also said the fill arm was spraying up and that it needed to be replaced ($131.00). The same day after the technician left I heard the water running or re-cycling in the toilet. I asked Muetzel to come out the next week to repair. I was flabbergasted when I was told that another part needed to be replaced (new flush valve). The technician called Andy Muetzel after I told him this was something that happened after the last technician left and was told that Andy would give me the flush valve at cost ($134.00). I lost three afternoons of work while these repairs and ended up replacing most of the parts within the toilet. I have used this company before without an issue, but what started as a small repair ended up costing me as much as a new toilet. Poor technician work resulted in increasing problems. If Andy Muetzel would have performed the last repair without charge, I would have walked away not happy, but without complaint. Very inconsistent service and poor customer service resolution!

This company was more than professional. He was very polite to my wife and very sweet to my dogs. He did not give me any surprises regrading prices. I think they did a great job and I would use them again in the future.

My upstairs toilet was leaking into my basement. He replaced the bees wax ring in the bottom of the toilet. I had him look at a spot that leaks when it rains to see if he could figure out why I was having a problem. He unclogged the gutter on that side. He also made an adjustment and I don't know if it worked.

We had a plumber named Mike. The best thing about Mike was that my sons cat loved him and Mike did not mind at all. Mike was very friendly and considerate. He moved a few things in the basement so he could work and when he was done he put it all back.

I considered the quote ridiculously high, declined the work and paid their $29 charge for the quote.

Excellent. Discovered back up in our basement this morning. Called Muetzel. Coordinator told me exactly when the technician would arrive following the job he was already on. Coordinator called me again to let me know about the time. Sean, the technician arrived on time. Did a quick and efficient job to solve the problem. Explained everything to us.

Mike from Muetzel Plumbing repaired a non-hazardous gas leak at the meter. He was cheerful, polite, and professional. He arrived right on time for both visits that were scheduled. I could tell that he was careful in his work, by turning off the furnace/pilot and shutting off the main gas line before his work. Afterward, he was careful to leave the necessary DOT-certified repair card at the meter for Columbia Gas, so they would see this mandatory repair is done. Mike is extremely friendly and upbeat, and it was a pleasure to have him do this work for us. Thanks, Muetzel Plumbing!

Overall a good experience. The hose feels a little stiff but he said it would soften up with use.

I had used him once to unclog a plumbing problem on an upstairs level. I had to call them back because the problem did go all the way down to the basement. When he did come back he did not charge me the full price. I liked him more than a previous plumber I had used. The only thing that bothered me was that I felt that after the first time he should have checked the other areas to make sure there was no other leakage.

I called to set up an appointment to repair a leak in my bathroom sink. They scheduled an appointment within the week and they came within the time period they had set. The leak was fixed, but the faucet also needs replacing. I elected to wait to replace the faucet because we're planning to do some remodeling in that bathroom.

Joe Muetzel came out to make a bid on 12/4. I received my quote on Friday 1/25, after many attempts to contact them failed and after having written a bad review on the list. I feel better knowing that they cared enough to contact me and make it right. Their contact also underscores the value of Angie's List. I improved their score to a "C" based on their second effort.

After receiving a previous estimate from another company we decided to use Muetzel; they were able to give us a full price quote (other company gave a price per hour quote and we had MUCH difficulty getting even that), they gave 1/2 windows of when they would show up (for estimate and ultimately for job) and were always on time. The job required that we dig up approx 2-3 feet of concrete basement flooring to access deteriorated cast iron pipe and replace with PVC. They showed up on time (Rep. "Mike" and a helper) and were very neat; our basement ceiling is not finished, and they mounted large sheets of plastic to the ceiling joists with duct tape, essentially creating a small confined 'tent-like' space. They completed the job in less than four hours. Considering we had the work done one week before Christmas we were thankful it was such a smooth process.

We noticed water in the basement and were very upset as we just moved in a few months ago. When I called them for information and help, the lady in the service area was so kind and patient. She did not give me the standard, "we are busy and we will get to you when we can." Instead, she checked where the service folks were and if they were in my area. Within two hours they arrived to confirm the sump pump was not working properly. A new sump pump was installed. The repair man was very nice and I could tell he took pride in his work.

Having two plumbers work on the problem was great! While one person would run water upstairs from different sources (sink, tub spigot, shower head) the other was able to watch for leaks and listen to the water flow downstairs. Shawn told me that he would try to do everything possible to diagnose the problem before he would resort to tearing out my kitchen ceiling. I'm so glad he took this approach. As it turned out, the leak was coming from a gap in the caulking at the top of the shower. Water from our cracked shower head was shooting behind the tub through the wall down to the first floor ceiling. Once he determined that the issue wasn't a plumbing problem, Shawn explained to me what areas of the shower/tub needed to be re-caulked and offered some great advice for treating and repairing the leak's stain on my kitchen ceiling. (Prime with Killz, then paint.) I am very satisfied with the honesty and professionalism of both Muetzel's and of Shawn and Aaron.

Great. Mike called me back, set to work and solved my problem. He was friendly, explained the costs and fixed my blocked drain right away. I will call Muetzel again.

Fine. The cost for an estimate was $29, but it gave us necessary info to make our decision.

They were very good I would use them again. They were on time. They were clean and kept the scope of work in check.

It went OK. It didn't take too long and the job needed to be done. Cleanup was OK compared to other plumbers I've hired.

The laundry room hookup was the largest project and Mike did a beautiful job. He's knowledgeable, thorough, communicates well, offers all options with pros and cons, and is very respectful. He takes all my concerns very seriously and sees each task through to completion. I ask for him every time I call Muetzel. I trust him entirely and I intend to schedule him for all my future house projects.

We have a bathtub with the original faucet, handles, etc. (1949) that had not been working well for quite some time and was recently dripping. Our previous plumbing company went out of business, so I checked Angie's List and chose Muetzel Plumbing. I was certain we would need to replace the faucet and handles, but the plumber from Muetzel assured me he could fix the problem with some new internal parts. Not only did he fix the problem, he polished up the handle and faucet and showed me how to place the drain stopper properly if we had to pull it out again for any reason. I even asked him about the pros and cons of bathtub coatings and received a knowledgeable and helpful answer. I will definitely call them again!

Wonderful! They encountered several problems because they encountered several utility lines that were not marked and our ground was so hard (clay) that they had to call in additional equipment. But they still finished on time and at the price quoted. I only knew they had problems because I went out to see how they were doing. Seeing so many people standing around talking on cell phones and staring into the hole made me curious.

Most everything went well. The person doing the scheduling was friendly and efficient. The job was completed on schedule. The worker cleaned up after themselves. We only had one minor problem, we had requested that the company send us a receipt to our office. It took several phones calls to actually get one.

He worked for 3 hours and supplied all materials (pipes, etc). He arrived exactly within the window of 30 minutes they had given me. He put booties on so as not to track anything into our house.
