Overall, the experience with the handoff from Jesse to Brian was smooth, and Brian and Steve (who tore down my old fence, rebuilt with 6' cedar shadowbox and added 2 gates on each side of the house) did a great job. They were prompt on arrival each time they said they would show up. The spent approx 5 hours tearing out the old section of fence and rebuilding. Upon completion, they hauled away all the debris and Brian offered to haul away a large pile of yard waste and brush we had built up in our early spring clean up. I would hire him again due to the work he did on my fence, as well as the reputation for the work with Morrison Fence.

On 11/7/09, Steve and Brian drew an estimate for the job and Steve told us 3-4 days. I asked if weather would be a problem and Steve said no, they could even put up a fence in the snow. On 12/11 a two man crew took down most of the chain link and put it in the backyard since we wanted to keep it. On 12/12, same two guys came around noon, worked until about 5pm digging holes.12/13, no call, no show.12/14, same crew came around noon, leaving around 5pm getting some posts up.12/15, no call, no show. I was starting to doubt the claim about weather not being a problem.12/16, same two guys arrived around noon, left around 5pm. At over 5 days, I called the office and talked to a nice lady who knew nothing about the erratic schedule of the workers. She did say that owner Jesse was away, and that "when the cat's away, the mice will play."Later that night, Jesse called and said the same thing! He just got back from hunting and the company also had a big job at Ohio auto auction, which was probably the reason for the short days on our job. He said he'd tell them to focus on our job when I told him that Steve told us it would be 3-4 days and that weather didn't matter. When I told him we were unhappy with the service we were getting (half days, no shows with no calls) and that we thought a negotiation on the price was in order, he became very defensive and belligerent accusing ME of threatening to not pay AT ALL. At no time did I ever say or insinuate that we would not pay. Ever. I asked him if the kind of service we received was okay with him, something he could be proud of and stand by, he simply said the job would be done tomorrow and that we would pay him then. He even said that they probably shouldn't have taken our job, which we heartily agree with after the way we seemed to be pushed aside in order for them to complete a larger job. We also had issues with the quality: someone rested the muffler of their auger on our siding leaving a burn mark and after dry pouring the posts it rained and filled some of the holes with water and the crew didn't show up the next day to deal with them. At this point, my husband got involved because I was so upset. Brian was nice enough to leave a note apologizing for the delays and they did replace the siding with a close match, but my husband had to trim down the old metal posts still in the ground so our dogs wouldn't cut their paws. The very fact that the customer had to do some cleanup work raises a red flag. They were willing to come down on the price a little due to all the problems (we took several pictures and kept notes) but there are still problems. For example, there are still mounds of dirt around the posts and fence boards not nailed securely (nails are sticking out).

Jess and his two assistants are very nice to work with. Bid was lowest of three. They had to make several modifications along the way to deal with Perry Township's rules and an elderly neighbor who apparently disliked the prior owner of my new home and saw Jess as a verbal outlet for those feelings. The atypical wire required by Perry Township had to be ordered and meant an extra visit to my home, which Morrison Fence did without extra charge. Would definitely recommend this company.

Great. Jesse had previously installed part of this very long fence last year. I called him on a Tuesday. He returned my call the next morning, met me after work that same day, quoted a very fair price and had two of his guys come the next day to begin the project. They finished the next day due to being low on some of the fencing materials. In low spots they built up the ground so that my cats cannot get out. And, It looks great.

Jesse (owner) showed up on time for the estimate on a Saturday morning and quoted what I considered to be a fair price for the work (especially considering the obstacles. tree roots, retaining wall, pile of construction debris, etc.). I accepted the bid on the spot and he explained that a crew would be out the following week to do the work. I called Jesse on Tuesday to get an idea of when they might show up so I could schedule some time with my employer to be able to work from home that day. He explained that a couple large jobs had come up and that he would try to have somebody out by that Friday, but was looking more like the following Monday. The next day Jesse called to explain that one of the jobs had run into permit issues and that he could have somebody out that afternoon or first thing the following day to start my job. In the afternoon of the next day, the crew arrived and had been delayed because they had to drop off materials to the larger job that they had thought the permit would be delayed on (which actually was obtained that day instead of what they thought would be several days). I couldn't be there to go over the work to be done physically, but explained over the phone instead. By the time I got home later than day, they had already packed up for the day and had explained to my girlfriend that they had run into a number of issues (including an air compressor failure) but were able to make decent progress. They were to return the following day to complete the work, but weren't able to show up until late in the afternoon (again, related to another job) and were unable to fix the compressor so they explained that they had to go back across town to get another and would either be back later that day or the following to complete the job (which was on a Saturday, so I didn't have to worry about arranging anything with my employer, so I was happy). They showed up around 10-11am Saturday and I went out to ask about some of the work they had already done to see if they might be able to tweak it to my liking and Steve was more than accommodating. They completed the job around 5-6pm and walked me around to make sure I was happy with the work and showed where they used extra hinges to better help support such large gates. I had also asked if they could haul away my existing pile of construction debris with the debris from their job and Steve agreed but said they'd have to come back the following week to get it, but not to worry, they'd be back. I called Steve the following Monday to get an idea of when they might be out to get the debris so I could make sure to leave the gate unlocked and he said they'd try to be out later that day, but might not be able to do it until later that week. It is now Thursday of said week as I type this and the pile still remains. I'm still hoping to see them and appreciate them hauling away the extra junk as this will allow me to use the concrete parking pad once again. I did notice a couple days after the job was complete that the gate is not square with the garage as the 6x6 posts used are probably about 6-8 out from each other. Nothing I'd want to have redone but just an observation. The posts ARE in semi-precarious locations (one of which is next to a tree which = nasty roots). I'm just happy to have a more secured/private back yard.

Mr. Morrison provided an initial estimate last summer. When I was ready to have him do the job, he came out to take another look but the estimate didn't change. The fence was built by 2 of his employees, Steve and Mike. They were polite and agreeable, very careful to make sure things turned out the way I wanted. It took a little longer than they'd thought, but that was mostly due to the weather. They cleaned up after the job was complete. The fence looks great and we are very pleased.

Jessie Morrison came out witnin 2 days of my requesting an estimate. He was the first person I called and his estimate was the most reasonable and he was the most responsive. The nece went up the following week. Mike and Mike came out (along with Mike's young son, who was an impressive and hard-working young man). Mike worked very hard and build the fence from scratch. He was diligent in his measurements. I had asked them to make the gate wide enough for a sit-down mower to get through and it so happens that my gardener was set to work on the day the fence was being installed. Jessie stoppped by to see how things were going and even though the gardener said the fence was no problem (the post had already been mounted for the gate), Jessie asked him to drive the mower through because it looked like a tight fit to him and said they'd move the posts if necessary. It worked out just fine nd the finished fence looks beautiful. I would use them again. Thanks for a great job!

Mr. Morrison gave us an estimate quickly, and was able to schedule the fence installation very quickly. He offered to start building the fence the very next day! Although he may be a little rough around the edges, he did a fantastic job at a great price well below the other quotes we received. Fence was installed in just one day. Very satisfied with the result. We love our new fence!

During the process Jesse was very easy to work with considering we were having "issues" with our neighbors. He made a special trip out to find property boundary pins. They had difficulties retrofitting my old gate into the new fence but he took the time to solve the problem without an additional charge. Nice person! I would hire them again.

I contacted Morrison Fence regarding an estimate, and in just a couple days Mr. Morrison came out and estimated the work needed. I had a funny situation - connecting to a neighbor's house, around garages, other fences, etc, and Mr. Morrison had a couple GREAT solutions for my problem, and since the estimate was right in line with my budget, I hired them on the spot. They had to come out a couple times to complete the job, since posts had to be set, gates had to be fabricated (5 functioning gates, 1 frozen hinge gate), etc, but within a week, it was completed. It was excellently done, and they cleaned everything up very nicely - it was as though they were Fence Elves, as I never saw anyone doing any of the work - I would arrive home, and fence would be there. Also --- I was originally set on having black fencing, but Mr. Morrison steered me away from it, since I have a smaller dog who is fairly crafty in his escape plans. He explained that the black fence mesh is more flexible and would give more leeway for a smaller dog to get under and around (since the wire is thinner under the plastic coating of color). Not only did he save me money, but he potentially saved me from struggling to keep my dog in the yard. I have painted part of the fence myself - with intentions of painting it all. Also - I had a preexisting gate that got jammed in connecting other fencing to the near posts, and I called on it, and they were very prompt in coming out to fix it. I highly recommend.

Since we were completely satisfied with the fence and arbor that Morrison Fence built for us two years ago, this company was the only one we called when we wanted to replace the rest of the fencing on our property. As usual, Jesse Morrison agreed to come out to do an estimate within a couple of days of my call. The estimate was well within our expectations. The project was started within two weeks and took two days to completd. The fence is exactly what we wanted. His crew is very nice and professional. They build a great fence. They removed all old fence materials and left the yard very clean and neat. I would recommend this company to everyone I know.

Overall it went very well, and much quicker than we expected (under 2 weeks from start of seeking estimates to completion). Jesse and his crew were in and out so fast we didn't even know it until we noticed the new fence, and there was zero construction debris and no significant disruption of the landscaping. He always promptly returned calls, and when he made an error in the original estimate was prompt in calling it to our attention and we quickly renegotiated a favorable solution. Morrison's bid was the lowest of the 3 we received, and had the shortest time-to-complete estimate. The whole transaction was completed in just under 2 weeks.

Other than a little hiccup getting the estimate, the experience was excellent. He came back to "tweak" some things and did restore a drainage swale that accidentally got filled in. Nice hardware for the gates, and the gates are pleasantly architectural in shape, not just the usual rectangular box.

Even though Mr. Morrison installed my fence over five years ago - so the warranty had expired - he cheerfully came out (promptly) and made a small but vital repair to my garden gate, allowing me to close it completely. Since I wasn't home at the time, he left a phone message letting me know the work was done. No charge. What a peach!

very well. They did the job when I was home, on a Saturday, so that I could specify the exact length and specifics on the gate. They did a great job, building a sold cedar fence right along the same line as the old fence and attached it to the remaining old stockage fence. They cleaned up and left no debris. I will definitely hire them again when I replace the remaining approximate 90 feet of old stockage fence next year.
